Sticking with U1. I think next year will get a speed bump and hopefully some more meaningful updates. Don’t see anything compelling to get to the U3, even from the 1 and battery still is fine despite being at 89%

Easy answer for me this year, none. My Ultra 2 (2023) and Series 10 Gold Titanium are working just fine with no reason I can find to nudge me to upgrade.

I’m upgrading from AWU1 to the AWU3 in natural Ti with Black Alpine loop. Max capacity is at 86% on my 1 with optimized charging. I bought it on release day. Excited to get it the day before my Colorado backcountry fly fishing trip.

Yes, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will have blood oxygen monitoring, but with a change to how it works in the US following a patent dispute. Instead of displaying readings on the watch, the feature now relies on software on the paired iPhone to perform the analysis, with results viewed in the Health app. This workaround was implemented with the watchOS 11.6.1 update and iOS 18.6.1 on August 14, 2025.

Looking at the comparison and I see the ultra 3 is now 2.4 mm thinner than the ultra 2. The thickness always put me off. Now that the ultra 3 is only 2.3 mm thicker than the watch 11, I will probably go for the ultra 3. Think I can live with that difference.

The 46mm Jet Black 11, with cellular. The sport loop strap. And keep my AW8 for now so I can start using one to monitor my sleep.

42mm slate titanium. Trying to decide on the strap. I’m sure the aluminum would be more than fine, but I’d do cellular anyway, so it’s $200 over the several years I’ll own it.

Currently have a gen-1 Apple Watch Ultra, with a graphite stainless steel Series 6 as a backup.

I’ve ordered a black Ultra 3 with a black Milanese loop. The OG Ultra will be the backup watch now, and the S6 can be my partner’s backup to her S10.

I went for the Ultra 3 in Black. After spending 3 years with natural (which I love) U1 and U2, it's time for a change.

What shipping days are being quoted for U3 ?

Mine after October 1 ??

Do you know if it has a new face. It doesn’t seem as if it has any new Hermes watch faces.
A new band with matching display according to the event. It looks like the screenshot didn’t work as expected but the subtitles should help :)

Ordered the base series 11 watch for $399. Added a braided solo loop band to bring it to $449. Black aluminum 42mm case. Basically identical to my current series 10. What can I say. I like to stay with the current version. Getting $175 for my trade in. So net cost before taxes is $274. Not bad.
