If you're not one of those people that often loses their phones, I'd highly recommend the ID case from Case-Mate. 2 (ID + credit) cards + the phone is all I carry with me. Super convenient.
I know what it says, I can read.
But if you look closely, it "appears" that it will not fit. The pic shows an att phone. It "appears" as if there is not enough room below the mute switch.I don't have a verizon phone so I can't compare it to my att. But it looks like the difference in the first pic is greater than the amount of space allowed in the 2nd picture.

You're right. They are way too expensive. I signed up for their email list and about two weeks ago they had a 50% everything clearance sale. I paid $40. Not bad. The best part... my brother paid $80 for his. Haha.. Schmuck!
Are you guys buying cases already? This is my first iPhone and don't know if i should wait until they come out for a more accurate case or if the companies already know the differences in the 4S and the 4.
Everyone is saying the cases for the 4 won't fit the 4S and I see why (i've compared images) HOWEVER if you go onto Apple Store online and find a bumper, it says compatible with BOTH the 4 and the 4S. It will, if you bought the one that is on Apple's site. This one is the redesigned Verizon compatible version, which will be the same as the 4S.
I'm getting a bumper again. I may use the same one from my iPhone 4 - but it now looks old and worn down, so I'll probably get a new one. I'm getting a white iPhone this time, so blk bumper for me...I'll just put the old one on if I haven't bought a new one by next Friday.

I wanted to get the white neo hybrid EX (for the white silicone) and the satin silver inset, but SGP hasn't released it for the 4S yet I don't think. I got the SGP Linear Crystal for the iPhone 4S in Satin Silver in the mean time. I'm still looking for something better though because I heard that the Linear Crystal creaks a little if you squeeze if from the sides and that could get irritating.

So far I have ordered a bumper but I'm used to having back protection on the 3GS using an inCase, and have always used inCase on my iPod touch and previous iPhone as well. I don't know what to do really, I think the bumper alone will not make me feel the 4S is secure from harm but it's so really nice looking that way. Lime and white! Yum!

Going to buy a TPU case on Amazon. In most cases, you can find them for less than a buck or two. I'm not buying this to save money, I'm buying it because they are thin and look good. I don't really drop my phone so a TPU case will be fine. I'm just buying it to protect the camera lens from being scratched when I set it down. It's a flexible material ... between plastic and rubber. I guess.
Damn it, I just realized that all iPhone 4 cases won't work on this new 4S due to button placement.

I asked the Apple Store Chat about the proximity sensor and Otterbox cases. They said they couldn't say about that specific case, but every case Apple sells on their site for the 4 will work with the 4s. They also said the camera and proximity sensor were in the same place. Time will tell, but I trust the Apple chat guy more than the Otterbox people.
Also, the Defender cases for the 4 don't "work" with the white iphone. I think this is because the case was causing a glare with the white phone, especially with the flash. Therefore, they made the opening for the camera/flash larger.
