My size 7 looks just slightly tighter on my wrist than what's shown in your photo. It does leave imprints and they looks a bit more obvious. I like the fit can not feel the band on my wrist because it's so soft.
On the printed tool and measuring tape I am a size 6. I received a 6 Solo Loop and it fits perfectly, a little less than snug, however I am returning it to Apple because I don’t like how it feels on my arm. It feels constrictive since I can’t adjust it. After a few hours I can’t stand it any longer. It is not very stretchy and I found it difficult to stretch it out to avoid scratching my watch with my wedding rings as I put it on. The Solo Loop is not for me. Not sure if I should try the Braided Loop. It might be better for me since it is said to be more stretchy and more breathable?

I had a Braided Loop but returned it because I didn't like the build quality. But, the sizing was perfect for me: "loose" but not too loose and it was really comfortable. However, it cannot be described as "breathable."

I live in a warm climate and am prone to dermatitis and like to move my Watch up and down an inch or two during the day. For me (and this is subjective of course) the most comfortable and breathable band is the Sport Loop. It's so lightweight and is also almost infinitely adjustable because of the hook-and-loop fastener.

I loved the looks of the Braided Solo Loop but I'm pretty sure it's not a band that I would like to wear all day. (I guess I have kind of Watch band claustrophobia.)

That’s funny. I have been describing the Solo Loop as being ‘Claustrophobic’ since it is not adjustable. I totally relate to what you said. My favorite band is the Milanese Loop because it is so adjustable. I think I will spend the $99 on another color of Milanese Loop instead of a Braided Solo Loop. I like the look better too. Just my opinion of course

There are LOTS of posts and info talking about how "my wrist is [this] and I wear a size [that] which is [whatever]."
I haven't seen any actual measurements of the length of the bands themselves, and would really like to. It would help to figure out what size is likely to work and avoid the guesswork and returns, double-orders, etc.

Could you guys lucky enough to have scored one lay it flat, measure it, then post what length it is and if it's a Solo or a Braided?

Much appreciated.

My size 6 40 mm Solo Loop is 5 5/8 inches ; about 14.5 cm long.

TheJuan&Only just released a very informative video where he lists the sizes of all 12 solo loops.

The size chart appears at 8:50.

I don’t believe his chart is accurate. He is claiming the size 5 is 5.51” long. Unless my eyes are going bad all of a sudden, the size 5 band is not 5.51 inches long. It is 5 7/16”. His entire chart is wrong. He also didn’t correctly measure his wrist with the tool.

Ugh, I got a braided loop in yesterday and I really don't care for the way it looks. I have the solo loop as well which I really like but the braided loop looks so cheap to me. It looks like a watch strap made of yarn is wrapped around your wrist. Definitely not my taste. For reference, I was a size 9 on the solo loop and braided loop and they both fit great.

In the video, he had the measuring tape further up his arm than where he was wearing the watch so therefore he got a bigger size. And he also said he had about a 7" wrist where the tape was showing about 5mm (a whole band size smaller) smaller than 7". And finally, he never showed the size 7 on his wrist. He skipped right by that one for some unknown reason. He claims it's too big but who knows? All kinds of flaws in this video.

I think the other sizing issue is the fact that the back of the Apple Watch 6 is taller. This likely changes the size for everyone.

Could someone please post the exact length of the size 8 braided solo loop 44mm? The video linked above shows the non-braided loop. Thank you

YES! I'd like to know this also.

155mm will work for me, which is what the video shows for the Solo. There seems to be a question of whether the Braided is exactly the same or not.

I ordered a 40mm watch with size 3 solo loop. Second guessed and thought it would be too big so I cancelled and reordered with size 2. Reading through the 28 pages here I second guessed again but the size 2 has already shipped so I cannot cancel it. So I went to an Apple store to try them on. Size 1 is better. Size 2 fits but moves around ever so slightly if I shake my wrist. So I will trade out the bands when it comes in the mail. I also tried on the braided loop when I was there. Size 1 is a little bit too tight and because they’re not as soft as the solo loop it would become uncomfortable so a size 2 would be better. The Apple person said usually people size up in the braided loop which seems to go against the opinions on here but I would need to size up. I also find that the braided loop is a bit rough and scratchy so I don’t know if it’s worth the money.

For reference:
Using a soft measuring tape if I pull it tight my wrist is 13.5cm or 14cm loose.
14cm corresponds to size 3, 13.5cm corresponds to size 2 on Apple website.
Using the printed tool, if I pull it tight I’m in the middle of 2/3 or 3 loose.
I wear the S/M sport band on the 3rd tightest hole on a 38mm watch, I can put it to the 2nd tightest but because then all the extra band has to go inside it becomes very tight and uncomfortable.
Solo loop: size 1
Braided loop: size 2

Sooo, cancelled my online order once I found out that the local store got in some of the SGTi models, which is what I had ordered. I had to choose a different colored band, but that's OK. I had initially used the printable sizer, and came up with just under a size 7, so that's what I ordered. After reading this thread, I became concerned, so measured using a tape measure instead, and that came out closer to a 6, so the one I purchased in store is a 6. If it was any tighter, I would have to return it, and I'm pretty sure a 7 would have worked fine, but maybe just a little tiny bit loose. Based on my experience, I'm really wondering how people are getting measurements that are so far off. I'm fine with this band, but when the braided one comes back in stock in the color I really prefer, I'll probably order it in a size 7, just like I'd originally calculated using the printed guide.

<Please ignore photo previously posted - I realized the measuring tape was inaccurate!>

Solo Loop - Size 4 44mm - 135mm in length. It's a slightly loose fit on my 145mm wrist. It's a tight fit on my other 160mm wrist  .

Based on the measurement of the printed Apple tool I was right in the middle of a size 7 braided solo loop, so that's what I ordered. I like a snug enough it doesn't slide around but not too tight fit.

I went into the Apple store and was dismayed to find out that a size 7 was very loose on my wrist. I tried to set up an exchange for a smaller size, but the braided solo loops are impossible to find.

My watch arrived yesterday and lo and behold the size 7 was a perfect fit, just like measured by the printable tool. My guess is that the ones in the Apple store take a lot of abuse being stretched on and off all day, and are prematurely stretched out.

So, to anyone determining a size based on trying a band at the Apple store, keep the stretching in mind. And once you get your new band home, go easy when tugging and yanking on it so as not to unduly stretch it out.

I think it's interesting that I've read that putting the braided loop in the wash actually shrinks it back to normal size. If it is yarn, I suppose it makes sense that it stretches and contracts just like our clothes do lol.

With all due respect, it's going to stretch from use whether you like it or not. It's not from actively stretching it, it's just from putting it on/off. So by your metric you should *probably* go with what was at the Apple store.

Now I've had mine for two weeks I do feel like it's stretched a bit, probably 1/3 size or so. I do move it from left to right and back every few hours, so I've probably done about 60-70 hand swaps.

I hadn’t heard that before, but that was my plan if it gets stretched out over time.

I’d suggest measuring it to make sure it was the watch band that stretched and not the wrist expanding.
