I see that every AirPods Max article is met by the same 3 Pages of comments from people that, in my estimation, have never even used them. It has nothing to do with being "First Gen bugs," all products have bugs that need addressing, these headphones are no exception. I am not sure what the outrage is, Apple has a stellar track-record on software updates and I have confidence that any bugs will be addressed soon. I am glad there isn't a power button, I hate having a bunch of buttons on anything, particularly headphones, doing finger-gymnastics to change settings is horrible.
On this bandwagon. I love mine and for sure not going back... even had a replacement because the first pair did come faulty, Apple express-replaced them in 3 days, back to the goodness.
I would be annoyed if it did drained so fast and would have to wait for a fix too, I can understand a that, luckily hasn’t happened and can use them several days at a time before requiring a recharge.

Yah have had mine for about a week now and having no issues with battery abnormally draining when not in use. I do put them in the smart case when not in use and have seen no issues. I can easily get two days of heavy usage from mine matching my MacBook Pro so its perfect.

The worst part is they could’ve implemented an on/off toggle function into one of the existing buttons. It is a complete failure in design in my opinion.

I don't think Apple wants a on/off button, nor people would need one if the AirPods max works as they were expected to do.
As apple has stated several times for their products: they want simplicity, they want to work magically!

From their perspective , a on/off button is only adding one more steep to the funnel of the using experience, complicating it. You, depending off a button to save battery.....what if YOU forgot to turn the button off and you loose all the battery. HUMANS forget things, tech doesn't.
Apple wanted to address this issue by eliminating the button and make the headphones smart enough to turn on/off by themselves, making the user experience as simple as just putting on and off the headphone from your head, just as the other AirPods. Magical.

Sadly this product is buggy, but im sure the intention of apple is achieve the best user experience, as simple as possible.

Mine are thankfully OK, i dont put them in that nasty case, just leave them hanging around until my phone shows the battery is about 20% then I recharge them but it takes about 2 days to get there

Would it really be that intimidating to consumers if Apple had a power button on these things? Seems like all kinds of problems because of that one omission
Imagine airpods having power button and you have to turn it on first to use it. What a hassle. This battery drain is just a firmware bug that’ll be fixed soon.

I was disappointed with the AirPods Max. They were extremely comfortable, and I really liked how they sounded fit, but the battery would drain each day regardless of how little I used them and regardless of whether they were in the case.

I also experienced occasional bluetooth drop outs sitting at my desk, within a foot of my MacBook. Not just a blip, but a flat out disconnect for no clear reason. At other times, I could also walk across the house with the AirPods Max.

I have a pair of AirPods Pro that I use most of the time, and they are easy to charge. You put them in the case, and you occasionally place the case on the charging pad at night. That's a great workflow.

The AirPods Pro have never had connectivity issues.

I also have a pair of bluetooth headphones that have a circumaural closed ear design like the AirPods Max. I was going to move to the AirPods Max because of how easily I can move between my Apple devices, but it seems like the firmware isn't fully baked.

They will hopefully address these issues in future firmware releases.
why didn't you just return them and get a new pair instead? you may just have had a faulty pair

I am still waiting for the message "Battery level - low" on my Sony WH1000 XM2, having charged them about 6 months ago and actually not using them extensively.
They still insist being "high" - not smoking anything as far as I know.
I know what you're talking about. Same case here with my Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless. Battery life and its retaining for entire weekSSSS is quite impressive.

Wouldn't hurt.. Particularly when things don't work as they should. This isn't like "the thinnest pair of earphones" here... so can't have a button.

Apple just wanted to show off "how automatic" it can be

I have the exact same problem. Putting the Airpods Max to sleep in the case with 85%, next day I get a warning on my phone that they are at 2%... that is weird.

Nah this is very different:
1. The brah - poorly designed and thought up accessory - to fail where the software for the item SHOULD have been set in the first place: 15mins no playback, no motion, no use - deep sleep!

2. Condensation: yes there are some competing closed back headphones that have this yet there are a few that do NOT have this.

3. Accessive battery drain?! really?!

This seems like a VERY rushed product! Major No, especially considering the cost!

Sure the sound maybe great but I'm glad I didn't jump on these.
0 issues here lol
