What is weird is that the Midnight/Starlight looks different on each device (watch, phone, iPad, etc)

I quite like the Starlight aluminum

Not sure how midnight can be described as navy blue. Looks the same as space gray to me.
Here's the midnight watch as it is on Apple's site, and below with the blue knocked out. It's a very dark blue in these images, but blue nonetheless. You can also eyedropper randomly on the watch and more often than not the colour it will pick up is a shade of greyish blue rather than neutral grey.

Honestly, if I could get the Nike watch face with the stainless space black color that would be what I really want but I just don't ever see that happening.

It'd be nice if they'd just sell the Nike watch faces as an IAP or something.

Having totally separate models seems really ridiculous for what the actual differences really are (band & faces)

Some people in this thread might want to schedule an eye appointment...

Anyways, people buy watches in Gold, Silver, and Black. It should have been no problem, but clearly they don't want the bands to match anymore.

How serious are people about adult colored watches? Well I didn't get one until I could get a space black watch with a black leather band that had matching space black hardware. Why would I spend money and not get exactly what I want?

My eyes don’t like any of the colors availablue in aluminum. I will swing by a store before cancelling my order. Only one I may like is midnight.

Regardless, wtf was Apple thinking… at least have 1 neutral color. Not interested blowing $ for stainless or titanium when I typically get a new watch when next gen is released.

I've had the product(red) series 6 for a year now and this is still my face when I look at it --> 😍
and if they had made the product(RED) color available with the Nike watch face, I'd buy it. But it has yet to be an option with the Nike version.

I hate to say it, but I think silver and space gray were probably axed so people who want a neutral color will move up to the stainless model. Midnight is definitely navy blue. See the midnight Nike paired with the black sport loop:

Agree. This is their play.

But it fails with me as I won’t buy stainless. Instead my next watch will be the SE, unless they remove the space gray there as well. Then it would be refurb.

People are unhappy, but still lining up to buy. Get the stainless or titanium versions if you're that desperate for space black, gold, graphite or true silver.

And how about Apple offering the watches without a band? Many of us have our own bands, and sometimes the watch doesn't hold up the order, the band does.

I would totally pay to unlock the Nike watch face on a stainless or even the product(RED) watches. Really, I wish they allowed 3rd party watch faces in general.

It’s funny that you keep posting that midnight is grey but you also shared this article, which is perhaps the clearest proof that midnight is a shade of dark blue.

Yep. At the risk of beating a dead horse, I have two more photos taken in natural light showing the clear distinction between my Space Gray AW and a Midnight iPhone case:

The colors in general this year have been a mess with Apple. The only color I liked was the orange iMac, and the blue iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I feel like the rest of the colors are meh and massively mismatched. I did order the blue watch though although stainless was my first preference, I just can't justify it.

You see People wearing Apple Watches in Congress, in business meetings, and in various and sundry formal gatherings all over the world. These new watches look like they were made for children, definitely not for formal settings. What has gotten into these people.

Happy to read this article and see other people feel the same. Give us Space Gray and Silver! It's basic/neutral but it is just easy to match -clothes-. If I want something fancy I would just buy a fancy pink band or something.

You may think so, but I don’t, and that combo is a traditional fashion no-no.
Honest question because again I am not a fashion expert or pro... is an Apple Watch considered fashionable? I feel like people who would consider navy and black together as a no-no would also consider the Apple Watch a no-no.

I just hate the red circle on the digital crown, like why!?!

You may already know this, but just in case you don't: the red circle on the crown is only on cellular models. But they seem to use the cellular model photo on your order info even if you order the GPS-only model.
