Last I looked at these cases on Apple.com, there aren’t any images of the bottom. Would be funny if those were defective like these but good enough for modeling.

I don't get why these cases have enclosed bottoms to begin with. Apple should have left that area completely open as it always has in the past.
A friend of mine dropped his iPhone at an unlucky angle (while sitting right next to me) and his screen still got smashed in such an Apple case with open bottom. The screen cracked right at the open part. So I guess that’s one reason to go with a completely enclosed case.

Honestly, why do people still buy cases?

Buy Apple Care for that little bit extra and then you can enjoy using your phone as Tim intended!
Because at least with the iPhone 11pro the phone is so slippery that you can barely hold it on your hands without a case.

So maybe the next gen iPhone will keep the lighting connector and lose the speaker/microphone instead.

Seeing that case makes me not feel so bad for just buying an 11Pro. Rounded edges are boring but I like it for sliding in pocket without the sharp edge profile.

Introducing Apple Holes. You’ll love Apple Holes. You can do just about anything with an Apple Hole.

We’re also introducing the Apple Hole Pro Max Giganto. The biggest Hole ever, in a hole.

There’s one more thing: The Apple Hole Mini. Our tiniest Hole ever. We can’t wait to show your our Holes. You can pre-order your Hole the day after you realize your case has no holes.

Only on an Apple site (where people look for every chance to trash the company as the norm) would it make news that some iPhone cases are shipping defective. Had this been Samsung or any other company making cellular cases there would never be any news on the web about it. SMH.

While unusual for Apple, this kind of thing happens occasionally with items made by suppliers. There’s probably an unemployed QA manager somewhere in China today.

I say it again: Apple cases and cables are of poor quality, specially compared to third-party manufacturers that are half the price.
You do realize not a word you spoke here makes any sense in regards to the article? A mistake from the factory assembly doesn't make the Apple cases poor quality. I do agree that 3rd party products tend to offer more for your money but what you stated doesn't represent the article.

Because not everyone lives in the perfect world you live in. For the rest of the world that lives in reality people drop their phones and the bottom is an easy target to get dropped on.

I hope you're being sarcastic because people just don't get fired for making a mistake on the job, especially for something small like a phone case. Lordy I hope you're always perfect doing the work you do...provided you do work.

Apple official reply: When the customers demand, we listen. Previous silicone cases have large exposed area along the bottom edge, customers have demanded the bottom edge to be covered in order to provide better protection, so we have altered the design this year to cover up the bottom edge including the speaker holes.

🤣 🤣 🤣

Well CRAP. I may have to return my clear case. I did not think of this!!
