Got Mine!: 64GB Wi-Fi Black!

On a related note, sold my 1st Gen iPad gear this morning for $595 (Craigslist)... My listing was as follows:

iPad 64GB/3G + Dock + Apple Case + Rubber Sleeve

1st Generation iPad
• 64GB (huge storage for all apps/movies/etc.
• 3G chip (Sign up for 3G service from AT&T)
• GPS chip (way more accurate than the cheaper Wi-Fi models that do not have this chip)
• Practically NEW condition with no scratches on metal or screen.
• Original Packaging
• Dock (by Apple) - New (in Original Packaging)
• Black Case (by Apple) - New (in Original Packaging)
• Sleeve - Like New (neon green)

All yours: $550 - Firm.
All yours + Like New Apple Keyboard: $595 - Firm.

Was $595 a good price or did I ask too low?

I probably would have tried to get a bit more for it - but hey, it's sold and you don't have to worry about it anymore! Congrats!

ATT - 64GB - Black - Delivered in Los Angeles 3 PM.
Ordered a few minutes before 1 AM Pacific

Black Leather cover still in Lantau. But I picked another one in Apple Store Century City. They had plenty. Will return the other when it arrives.

I guess it was meant to be that I did not get the iPad 2. I was undecided which one I should get. Now that I have had time to think, I know which one to get. I wonder how people decided when you have 18 options and you have a few minutes to decide or you get left out in the cold like me.

I bet in a couple of months we will see a lot of iPad 2's on eBay because people bought the wrong one for their style.

You make it sound like there are 18 radically different models. It's very simple:

Wi-fi or 3G?

If Wi-fi, pick storage size and white or black. Done.

If 3G, pick storage size, white or black, and verizon or ATT. Done.

How difficult is this? Also, you had several days to make up your mind before it even went on sale.

They created this level of chaos - for the demand.

1) Asking folks to log on in the dead of night.
2) Parading folks in front of stores for 5 pm line ups.
3) Giving Targets and AT&T stores five (5) units! Why even bother?
4) Not communicating what models Best Buy would carry and where.
5) Plus selling to the US first for "professional exporters" to take advantage off.

They could have setup a reservation system, an App, Fedex, anything.

Where is the loyalty to the fanboy with a day job?

I own thousands of dollars of Apple gear, it would appear that they no longer value your time, just your money.

Man some people just think without thinking, google how many apple stores are in the US and how many each got....now google how many att, verizon, walmart, target, and Best buy stores (that had ipads) are in the US combined, say they got like idk 20 ipads or maybe even 5, add them up, YOu have got to be ******* crazy to be able to supply that many ****in ipads in the first 5 days with maybe only a few months of production! Stop complaining

insufficient iPad 2s

I hoped to buy an iPad 2 at the Hillsdale Mall, San Mateo CA, Apple store this morning. I got there at 8:15 this morning and the line was already quite long, by 10:20am they told everyone in the line that the only thing they had left were white 16GB Verizon iPads. Since I want a black 64GB wifi iPad, I left. Oh well, maybe next week. My 25 foot hdmi cable arrived today -- I tried the connection to my flat panel TV a week ago with my iPad 1 and it worked very well for video. But an iPad 2 is needed to use the "mirror" desktop feature that'll let me have complete iPad 2 capability via/on the flat panel TV, so that's my rationale for buying an iPad 2...

I am not complaining. I am just mad that I did not make a decision and place the order online or take the day off buy one in person. I am pretty sure Apple made as much as they possibly can, and in a couple of months you will be able to walk in to a Apple Store and buy any iPad you wish with no problems.

Mind if I ask when it was supposed to arrive? seems awfully fast for the estimates I've been seeing and which mine has. Mine shipped this morning and they are predicting 6 days for a march 22nd delivery. I'm here in Portland too

It was originally supposed to arrive on Friday 3/18 but gee wiz bang they got through Alaska and customs quickly. Delivered 2 days ahead of estimate, which pleases me greatly.

iPad #1: Perfect. No flaws so far. No backlight bleeding, dead pixels, yellowing, etc... No problems calling AT&T and getting my grandfathered unlimited 3G plan transferred over, smooth as silk. Damn this thing is fast.

iPad #2: Almost perfect. Minor backlight bleed at the bottom (above the dock connector). Will keep an eye on it to see if it becomes noticeable or bothersome. This one did not have unlimited plan so I just canceled the 3G data plan on the old one (only had 4 days left) and created new data plan on the new iPad. Easy peasy.

The soft smart cover (vinyl or whatever the non-leather product is) fits really well and does a good job, thinking I would benefit from some sort of protection on the back, we'll see how well the anodized aluminum holds up to scratches and what-not.

got my Black 16GB Wifi+3G (verizon) iPad 2 today! Green smart cover came yesterday. iPad received one day before FedEx estimated and 2 days before the earliest date Apple estimated. Woke up to no internet (faulty router) so I couldn't plug into iTunes store for initial setup...that was painful, but all is fixed and I'm lovin' it!

I probably would have tried to get a bit more for it - but hey, it's sold and you don't have to worry about it anymore! Congrats!

I'm selling mine to gazelle.com, they offered $530 for each of my two 64GB WiFi + 3G iPads. They're in mint condition. Tried listing them locally on Craigslist but no bites at $575 even offering to throw in the iPad Dock, a leatherette case, Zagg screen protector...

No big, not terribly unhappy with $530 from gazelle.com...

(Craigslist buyers in my area are horrible for offering you half what you post something for. Sometimes takes all the restraint I can muster not to tell them to get bent...)

I ordered mine at 3:45AM Eastern - 45 minutes after they were available - and it's currently stuck on Lantau Island. I guess I shouldn't have got it engraved. Oh well. At least if someone steals it, they'll know who they're stealing from.

It seems like one extreme or the other. Finally this afternoon, I got confirmation that two I ordered are on the way. Yet this morning I stopped at the Target Store only to be shocked they had three of the exact model I wanted. So I bought those and I'll sell the two being shipped to me, to a reseller who gave me his card while we were in line at Apple on release day. Amazing.

I now get to laugh at all of the people who said there would be next to no lines come Friday 5pm. Expecting to stroll in on Friday at 7pm or any time Saturday and pick one up no problem. I laugh at you now!

BTW, got mine at Target at 5:02pm.

Sent from my iPad

I "strolled" in the Apple store Saturday afternoon just as a fresh shipment was being unloaded and was luckily able to grab one. I do feel bad for those who ordered online, but I don't think Apple is deliberately holding back to drive up demand for media attention. Apple's main concern is getting their product into the hands of their paying customers.

What time should I line up at the Apple Store to even have a chance to get an iPad 2 When they open in the morning? They say they will sell some tomorrow morning.

Just got mine. It has some slight backlighting issues. I'm going to try that 'massaging' technique. Worst case Apple will replace the iPad but I'm in no rush.

This thing is a beast! :D

Yesterday, we noted that the first online iPad 2 orders in the U.S. had begun arriving on Monday.... By yesterday afternoon, the first trickle of orders made through Apple began coming through.

What does this mean? They began arriving on Monday but now they are beginning to trickle in yesterday? So which is it then?:confused:

Maybe they meant arriving into the United States via tracking but not actually delivered?

Ready for Shipment

Finally...ready for shipment! :) I ordered at 4:04 AM EST last Friday. Just saw my iPad 2 is being readied for shipment...Black - 64G - 3G - ATT. Can't wait.

Yes... I received my Apple package today! My smart-cover... About 2 weeks a head of my iPad 2. Thank goodness I got that so soon!
: )

So basically, my ipad arrived today in Chicago.. it was shipped the 14th from China.

However, my orange cover which was shipped a day earlier is STILL in alaska in transit, and will not arrive till the 18th.

Seems fedex is giving priority to the actual ipad instead of its accesories?
Anyone else have something similar happen.
Maybe there's a finite number of aircraft that can carry cargo from a certain airport, along a certain route, to a certain destination airport.

Perhaps Apple has instructed its case manufacturer's distribution warehouse to take the slow boat, giving priority to the iPad shipments along the primary shipping routes.

I give up. I just need to suck it up and wait. I went to the Apple Store after work to see if I could get any info about future shipments, but they have no idea.

WOW, I just placed my order for the Black iPad 2 32GB 3G AT&T, and I received my email order acknowledgement. It states, my order will ship on the 20th, and I should receive it by the 23rd!

Oh, I forgot to mention it says APRIL!:(

Maybe I will get before the NBA Playoffs, which starts on April 19th.

AGH! I am going to have the money for one possibly tomorrow, day after at the latest. I'd like the Best Buy points (spent close to a grand there already this year), but would probably like it the fastest. Where is my best bet to order in 2 days?
