@sorgo. Thank you.

I dont use betas at all ever, and can confirm that the Atmos bug it´s also present on audioOS 16.0 (stable final version) and IOS 16.0.2.

To be able to get rid of Atmos, I had to:

A). Enable Atmos on the Home app.

B). Force quit the app.

C). Disable Atmos on the home app.

D). Force quit the app again.

E). Reboot the homepods.

Then and only thn would be Atmos gone. Insane, right?

Also my wifi is rock solid and ultra fast, Siri responses are extremely quick on the pods... but for some reason specifically Apple Music requests to the homepods (either directly by Siri or remote controlling them) are slow/laggy (particularly lossless tracks). Go figure.
Thank you so much, I will try this! If you don’t mind me asking, are you using your general Apple ID across all the ‘pods or do you have them logged into their own individual accounts?

@sorgo.

Do you think we´ll see another update this week?.

Judging by the amount of complaints, it seems possible.

Right now, I´m using my general Apple ID with personal requests off in all of them.

Definitely a beta :)

I know that doesn’t exactly help you, though. Maybe another small public point release by the end of the week or early next week? :confused:

Alright, same here. Now I have more hope your steps will work and I will finally be rid of the scourge that is Dolby Atmos.

Yeah, I agree. I just asked because given the current state of things, waiting until 16.1 in late October seems a little hard... hope for a smaller bugfix release sooner.

@sorgo

I used to have personal requests on and the voices of my family set up, but for some reasons that caused plenty of issues with playlists and icloud music library requests. Sigh. I wonder if the pods will ever have a stable, decent software.

They are speakers, for god´s sake!

Today marks exactly two weeks since Apple released iOS 16 to the public. Besides the personalized Lock Screen, major changes in Messages, and new features in Maps, the update has also seen its fair share of bugs, performance problems, battery drain, and more.

General-iOS-16-Feature-Yellow.jpg

After major iOS updates, it's normal for some users to report having issues with the new update, but such reports usually subside in the days following the release. This year, things have been different, as iOS 16 has seen quite a few bugs being reported by users on an almost daily basis.

The initial version of iOS 16 was iOS 16.0 for all supported iPhones, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro had a day-one iOS 16.0.1 update available that addressed some problems for the latest iPhones. Last week, Apple released iOS 16.0.2, which addressed camera shaking on the iPhone 14 Pro, an annoying copy and paste prompt, and more. Despite the iOS 16.0.1 and iOS 16.0.2 updates, users continue to face several unaddressed bugs. Here are a few of them:

MacRumors has seen no sign of iOS 16.0.3 in our analytics, so it's unclear if Apple is planning another iOS 16 update before iOS 16.1 ships next month. Apple is currently testing iOS 16.1 with developers and public beta testers, but it won't see a launch until October, likely alongside iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura. Apple Support has been advising customers who are facing issues to restart their iPhones, and in the worst-case scenario, do a restore, in hopes of addressing their problems.

Other issues include:

- Webpages not loading for several seconds in Safari
- Screen rotation glitches
- Non-responsiveness in screen taps (random)
- Slow Face ID response time

I have been having (intermittenly) the Safari issue since Safari 15.0 was introduced.

For some reason my notifications have stopped working on some apps.

No idea why or how to fix it. WhatsApp, tesla and Instagram are no longer showing banners when unlocked or lists/groups when locked. No notifications at all for them and possibly others.

However I am getting notifications for some apps at least.

I’ve checked focus modes are off, notifications are toggled on in the problem apps.

I have absolutely no clue what’s going on.

It doesn’t but often the first release of a new major version is less efficient and there are bugs that use too much power. That is usually fixed by the first or second update.

That idea that Apple does things to degrade performance of previous gen phones to get people to upgrade is silly. One of the benefits of Apple devices is that they last a long time and continue to perform well. The higher price is a worthwhile tradeoff for that. If Apple were to make older phones slower or less useful that would just make them seem a worse deal and make more people cross over to Android. In most years the older phone performance is still good and remains for for a long time. During a couple of years there were major processing changes that impacted some older phones and that gave the cynics the idea that Apple made the phones crap to get you to upgrade. Kind of backwards logic, though.
But it keeps happening again and again every year when a new iPhone comes out. Either Apple SW QA sucks or they intentionally do it. You must not be in tech. There're internal builds, alphas, betas after betas. Certain kind of bugs in GA builts are unacceptable especially for a large roll out as iOS.

Anyone else having Find My problems? Since upgrading I get notifications that I've left device and tags at my home address. I register my home as a do not notify location but after a couple of days....the notifications are back.

Their SW QA suck since Serlet and later Forstall left.

Apple isn't known for paying their engs well. Their pay is bottom of the barrel MAANG. Many SV eng joins Apple for the name so I'm not surprise if their QAs have the lowest pay. haha

Apple need to go back to the drawing board. iOS has been garbage for years in regards to bugs, and the fact that we have such a disgrace of a release like iOS 16 means they are either incompetent or they just don’t care.

damn… I’m loving my 14PM, AWU and APP2.

I guess I’m lucky. I setup the iPhone and Watch as new and manually downloaded apps and will sync photos/music manually as well.

maybe that’s the key.
