Too big, too big, TOO GODDAMN BIG!

It sounds like you want a smaller iPhone.

How about getting an Apple Watch 4 Cellular?

Or maybe you just want the iPhone 4 size and form factor - that was a perfect sized phone for sure. Maybe next year.

I thought the iPhone XS was perfect sized, XR is bigger by a lot?

iOS needs half the RAM because it doesn't support multitasking.

The A12 is a marketing gimmick. So far the only use application that's been demonstrated is Apple's broken and always-on beauty mode.

There are plenty of examples of Apple's hardware being inferior too.

Only wanting iOS is fair enough if your workflow is built around it. It's the modern equivalent of how people used to be tied to Windows because their workplace demanded everything to be done in Word.

Not a single word of this comment is accurate. Wow.

The A12 is the best mobile CPU ever made. Go read Anandtech.

There are literally hundreds of processes running on your iPhone at the same time. Of course it supports multi-tasking. The user visible portion of that is just tightly controlled to optimize battery life.

What makes it all the

I actually sat this year out and instead of buying two X Max put the money into AAPL. My 8+ is fine for now. It has actually been a lot more fun watching the launches this way. Can't wait to see what the next event brings. A simple black color in Airpods is a several billion dollar proposition at this point.

It's so true! Heck I'd get the black airpods! I'll wait until next year too - hopefully grab a few more shares before the quarterlies come out!

ill open some games -> screen off -> screen on -> reopen game -> has to load all over again. this is without loaded ANY other apps in between.

The RAM usage on the iPhone is BS.
[doublepost=1539972543][/doublepost]I like how there are still tons of XRs available. So much for the massive adoption. iPhone sold like poop this year. Hopefully it tells Crapple something.

What iPhone? 5s?

What it means is there is tons of inventory available not constraining supply. The only thing “Crapple” is getting told is the ring of the cash registers.

See you back here Feb 1? Apple hasn't missed earnings in years and they aren't starting now.

I predict $100B sales in 90 days. They did $88.1B last FQ12018, so it'd be a huge jump, but they have another year of services revenue growth, 2 new iPhones, a watch that is selling like crazy, and all prices are higher.

To say the iPhone "sold like poop this year" is not only wrong (look at the numbers) it's WAY too early to saying anything about the new lineup. We literally have no numbers yet.

How many shares you up to now? Also Long AAPL...

iPhone still sells like crazy. To say anything wise is foolish
220M iPhones in the last 12 months.

There is no evidence the iPhone is struggling.

Wall Street has revised AAPL target to $310. Buffett himself is buying every dip and would buy AAPL outright if he could.

I ordered a yellow one to replace my iPhone 5... and the only reason I did is because support for O365 and iOS 10 is being deprecated in my workplace. Otherwise, my 5 still works ok.

But you have to pay $30 activation extortion fee.
You do?

I certainly never do in Canada, if I already have an active SIM. Here, any extra fees are from the carrier, if you're activating a new line, or you're doing a carrier hardware upgrade.

Blame your carriers.

At least for Verizon and ATT. For T-Mobile, I heard that you don't, but don't have 1st hand experience.

Well, I blame Apple for forcing me to go through my carrier and not giving me a carrier-free option.

This phone is going to be Apple's biggest success.

MacRumors readers / tech / apple geeks are probably not Apple's customer base for this phone - So I am not surprised the hate that its getting in this thread.

Regular people who want an iPhone and don't want to spend all of the extra cash - and they have a phone with a little bit of a different screen, and bringing the new design language to an affordable price, along with the most recent processor - Apple hit the nail on the head. I just wish they made a nice emerald green/forest green one.. (anyone want to photoshop me one?)
I think the main problem here is, at least with the “ regular”people that use iPhones around me, don’t want something bigger than the iPhone 6-8 they have currently.

The XR is almost the same size as the 8+ and Max. It’s just too big for some casual users that are still holding on to having a single handed phone.

With that being said, I’m kind of having buyers remorse getting the XS Max. It’s $450 more than the XR I would have gotten, and I just don’t know if it was worth it.

As has been explained if you buy from Apple they are all unlocked. It will come with a SIM but it will be unlocked. They won't sell them SIM free for a certain period.

It will be activation unlocked for use for that carrier, but there are conflicting info if they will be unlocked for all carriers to begin with. For example if you purchase a Verizon phone outright you may not be able to put a AT&T or H20 or Cricket sim and it work immediately - sometimes it takes 30+ days...

You are guessing. Apple knows what people want based on data. The phone is not too big or there would be a smaller one.

You think Apple doesn't understand their market?
