I plugged mine into iTunes and got a blank white screen on my computer with the word "iPhone" in the middle and that's it...lol.
thats all I get also. Spent 30 min chatting with apple, they blamed Verizon. Spent an hour on the phone with Verizon, they blamed apple... finally got a higher level tech on the phone, and she said that apple and Verizon both support the same activation servers.... so all in all, I think this is both apple and Verizons fault. Ive ben trying to activate for 4 hours now... I just bought a paperweight

I killed time updating my X to 11.1 via DFU mode. Now need something else to kill time while I continue to "Try Again"

With all this going on after I get mine, Im not gonna fool with it till later tonight and let the rush die down

Jesus this is the 3G launch all over again. At least this time they let me take it home instead of making us wait to activate it in store.

i wouldnt do that... that will deactivate your old phone and activate the new one but you will be still stuck in the activation loop and have no access to a working phone...
Yep, tried this and my old phone is deactivated and my new one still is not active, so I'm without a phone now.

You sir are 100% correct. I wish I saw that before trying. Now I'm in limbo...

Same problem on Verizon. Have been trying for about 15 minutes and can't passed the activation screen. Going to try via iTunes now.

1 hour so far on Verizon. Spoke to two Verizon representatives, one an escalation of the first. Conclusion: the servers are just overloaded. Keep trying.

Same issues on AT&T here. I've been hitting "Try Again" over and over, finally cot to a page to confirm my phone number and then I entered back into the vortex!!! :(

This is horrrible ... They dont have that many iphone X's that this should be causing an issue with activation. I have been trying to activate my iphone x for like 2 hrs now...

Same here. Now my old phone doesn't work either. I liked the old way where you just connected to itunes and then activated it - went seamlessly smooth

I was contemplating this too - did it bypass the activation?
Sure seems like it. I had the X up and running but then noticed I was on Wifi and didn't have Cell Service, but my 7+ still had cell service. So I popped out the sim, put it in the X and it's been fine all day. Full LTE and no issues.

I don't know why people are acting like this is the end of the world. Just breath and try to activate your phones in a few hours. No sense in getting all worked up about an issue you have no control over.

Activation stuck on confirming my number for over 2 minutes. Idk, figure I let people know something new is happening...

How do you know it has to do with Apple and not currier? Such a rush to jump in conclusions.

Verizon confirms Apple activation servers down. AT&T clients having same issue. My new phone's ID and IMEI show on my Verizon account. When plugged in via USB in iTunes everyone gets blank screen and no response from Apple and iTunes.
