You cannot fail to amazed by people. Sometimes they just plugged it in and hope that the INPUT somehow "magically" shapeshifted itself to OUTPUT.

you're in the wrong thread...My battery is still 100% health with max fast charging, my trick is , the old classic laptop way, stay between 20-80% , calbirate once in the 3 months the battery, many people just use their devices wrong and then blame the devices ,
Oh yes. This must be EU’s fault for sure. 🙄EU: 👀
Maybe that’s the industry’s fault and not EU’s?And therein lies the problem. People think USB-C is standardized...and they are both right and wrong about that. The shape of the plug...yes, that's standardized. The capabilities of that cable...not even close. I have multiple USB-C cables in my house and I'm pretty sure each and every one of them has different specs and what works and what doesn't. If people want "standardized" cables...USB-C definitely isn't that.
The EU wanted to throw its power-hungry weight around and it's leaving us with problem after problem now. The EU did what governments do best: take something that worked just fine...and break it. It really seems like with the more things the EU forces...the more the quality drops. This is what happens when people who don't understand technology try to regulate it. Things might be different if they actually had to fully understand the things they want to exert their power over instead of just throw their weight around because they like making rules and don't know what else to do.
That proves nothing. I suggest you take a picture of the iphone AND the charger in the same picture showing the charge symbol on the iphone.Have that exact model listed in the article...mine is charging without an issue via the USB-C on the Anker 🤟

No it’s responsible for regulating out of ignorance. The EU is responsible for the fact that USB-C cables are not standardized? Is that the implication?
It looks like the Anker nano power bank seems to be charging the 15PM - just tried it. Just as a datapoint.
Edit: This is the one that I tried:
God no. When I want to charge I don’t want any annoying menu. Plugs in & charge. That’s the way it should be.Apple needs to develop something like what Android, specifically Samsung, has when a USB cable is plugged in to a computer. A menu pops up asking what you are wanting to do; charge, file transfer, debug, etc.
So what you’re saying is that all other devices that are being charged using the USB-C standard have these problems and only apples lightning port can ensure seamless charging? No it’s responsible for regulating out of ignorance.

I would hate a switch on the powerbank as well. Plug it in to charge it and you forget that switch and it’s not charged. Why does the phone need to ask? The device I connect it to needs to know what it wants to do. So, the port should be labeled "out" for output and "in" for input. And if you want a switch to deterime? Then place that switch on the powerbank. I don't want to have to answer what to do on my iPhone each time I connect it to something. It is something I absolutely hate about Android trash.
So you have on both sides one USB-C port which is an in AND output port. How should they know in which direction the current should flow? Percentage of battery capacity? But maybe you want to take a charge from your power bank even it’s already at 20%. I think you need such a switch. Why does the phone need to ask? No, Anker is at fault, not Apple… 🙄So you buy a power bank to charge your iPhone and you end up charging the power bank with your iPhone?
It is clearly a software issue and Apple is again showing us how many idiots are working in the software department nowadays.
One iPhone can charge another. Somehow they managed to do it w/o a switch. Don’t know how the communication between 2 usbc ports work.Like I wrote the port should be clearly labelled, or there should be a switch on the powerbank. This can be a "firmware" switch, so that if it detects an iPhone (USB-C has an identification pin, so that isn't that hard to do) it should act as a host port. (which can be done with the CC1/CC2 pins of the port)
The other reasons being it’s out of stock and overpricedThis is just one of the reasons I no longer buy a iPhone on launch day. I wait and see what issues come up. Sad to hear this but hope it gets a fix.
This is an easy and cheap jab. And inaccurate too. You forget that governments also rebuild societies, create infrastructure, etc. including the Internet. The EU did what governments do best: take something that worked just fine...and break it.
That’s a solution but very un-Apple in style. There must be a better and more elegant method.Apple can easily solve this by adding an option in settings to reverse the charge manually like Android phones do.
Maybe it’s the EU’s fault for mandating a “standard” that is absolutely NOT standard ITSELF! Ever think about that?Maybe that’s the industry’s fault and not EU’s?
Yeah sure. Much better to have a lot of random none-standards then. Now that there’s actually a standard plug, maybe the industry can see a point in aligning the rest of the whole USB-C technologyMaybe it’s the EU’s fault for mandating a “standard” that is absolutely NOT standard ITSELF! Ever think about that?
And yet the majority of the smartphone market (Android) has been using USB-C for quite a while and seems fine with it.And therein lies the problem. People think USB-C is standardized...and they are both right and wrong about that. The shape of the plug...yes, that's standardized. The capabilities of that cable...not even close.
