It looks really nice, but it's not as versatile as the silver. With a silver I can wear it with silver link, milanese loop, leather loop....

Don't you only need a single link?
Its too far up, I have a few spare links, but this is a few links up higher in the non-removable spots :p
I was going to try the dremel polishing brush too, see if I could get it smoothed out with that

That sounds like picking at a sore.

Well the dremel soft pad didnt do anything. decided Id use my wifes super fine art brush and threw a super light cover of black paint on it. Seems to cover it well, and the finish looks close enough (not like the shiney looking sharpie)

Bought space grey....kind of wishing I didn't as there isn't a "formal" band (like the loop) that matches....

Talked to apple, they said since Im within 14 days i can return it and get a replacement. Problem is my new order says 2-3 weeks delivery. hmmm decisions. Keep it or return and hold out for Another watch :/
and HOPE that it doesnt take 2-3 weeks. Lady on the phone said it should be 3-4 days max, they 'keep some in reserve'.

Heh, really depends if the scratch bothers you or not. (I'm guessing that it does - otherwise you would have let it go by now) :)
(not that I'm any better - just haven't scratched mine - yet) :)
Might as well return it - that way you won't beat yourself up a couple weeks from now for not doing it.

Im just annoyed that since its the SB link they dont have it seperately and cant just send me the band, gotta return the whole damn watch and live without it (again) for a while
Dont think ill send it back till next week at the earliest. Im not gonna let UPS screw me for the 4th
apparently the only apple store with a 42m SB in stock is in Nebraska of all places...??

I guess I could order another one, and just return that when it arrives. kinda like my own advanced replacement.

Id hate to have to re-establish another watch cause I have to send it back. Much easier to just get another, swap the band and return it.
This - order it first - keep an eye on the calendar and don't miss out on your 14 day return period.
Ordered last night, shipped this Am. Damn. Guess they're all caught up!

Heh, well you could do that (swap the band that is). Provided you receive it in time. When is your return period up? Did you look at the tracking yet? (if it's in the US already, you'll likely receive it before Friday).

says delivery is Friday, but thats a holiday in the US. Not sure of UPS's delivery. my thought was to return the new one, as itll avoid any warranty issues with my SN being attached to AC+...

Yep, AC+ is tied to the watch, not to you, so if you return the original, then your AC+ is refunded with it. If you didn't purchase AC+ with the new one, you'd need to add it again to have it on that one.

Less of a PITA to just swap the band (saves you having to pair to the new watch, restore your data, etc).

Exactly. Which is why when 'Sales' was going to ship me a replacement strap I was happy. Then she said 'Well there is no PN for just the band, ill have to replace the entire watch' I got scurred lol

Here's the funny thing - someone posted earlier that they had received a "just the band" replacement - and showed how it shipped in the retail box. So, there IS a SKU for just the SB SS LB, but it seems not everyone has access to it (yet).

Weird
My 'Sales consultant' couldnt find it and only offered a full return / exchange. Maybe they're just trying to be difficult hoping you wont bother for minor issues even though everyone 'understands and would really do the same thing...'

New Stainless Steel Space Black watch with Space Black link bracelet here!!! It's GORGEOUS!!!! I knew that my local Apple store had them -- had checked this morning -- so this afternoon went over there (didn't make a reservation) and was able to get one. I'm delighted and excited! On the drive home I really appreciated getting notifications of an email or two and a phone call.....which I felt with the taps and could quickly see on my wrist while my iPhone was safely stashed in my purse. This is going to be really, really nice!

The Space Black is just so darned elegant, isn't it? I love how the link bracelet feels so smooth to my fingers and how the black bezel of the watch itself allows the colors of the watch face to "pop," really shine. One happy camper right now!

Link?

I proper smacked my watch against a kitchen unit, so hard the strap dug into my skin on the underside of my wrist breaking the skin and likely to bruise.

Left a big mark across the clasp and edges of the strap......that just wiped right off!
Annoyed I hurt my wrist but very happy the watch is unscathed.

Great stuff.

Glad to hear it too! As long as it's not a long term injury, I'd rather have a scuff than the watch since I heal on my own, unlike the watch. :)

I've really been enjoying the Space Black myself. Though the all black is getting slightly old, I wouldn't mind having another band. I think the regular SS looks great, I love the bling look of it, but it's not worth the additional scratches versus the SB.
