That is correct.

My Space Black link band had collected a few marks now, but they are extremely hard to see. I'm comfortable with my purchase, but only because IMO the SB watch is the best looking. If it wasn't a thing of beauty then the regular SS Link is a safer bet.

There are three scratches in this picture:

I loved the space black but didn't want to pay the price so I got the space gray sport. So I was happy when they released it with the sports band which they really should have done from the start. Now I kind of want the link bracelet and after doing the math with tax it comes out to $52.11 which is how much a sport band cost with tax. So I would end up paying the same as if I would have bought the SB with link and added a sports band. I just wonder if the link bracelet would be warrantied under Apple Care + which I already have.

The band needs to be an "officially supported configuration/pairing" for Apple to warrant the band. (so, you can't buy a sport and buy a $500 link bracelet and expect the cheaper AC+ to cover the link bracelet).
Months ago, advisers at AC+ said that the coverage would cover whatever band was on your watch at the time of damage, not just the original band. (but, again, it has to be a supported configuration).

I spoke to an apple rep over chat and asked her since I had the space black SS with sport band if I purchased the SB SS link would it be covered and she told me that it would. I tried to print out the convo for my records but couldn't print it. You are probably right, not sure it's a gamble I'm willing to take. Thanks for the info

Well, I did take it a few steps further. I had one of the policy people in Applecare open a ticket for Apple's Legal department to update the terms and conditions of the agreement. They reviewed the request, but denied it (they feel the ambiguous language in the agreement is sufficient). I don't agree - without it being implicit, Apple could change their policy without updating the agreement and the customers would have no notification of this change and no protection, should they damage their band after the change has been made. BUT their Legal department said no...and I didn't want to waste more time with an exec escalation that may not yield a different result. :)

I have never tried to get support on an Apple Watch band, but will share an Apple Care Mac experience that may shed light on their policies. I bought a Macbook Pro and Thunderbolt Display and put Apple Care on the MBP. I was told that accessories purchased at the same time as the MBP were covered. So when the LCD panel on my TBD went out a couple years later, it would have been a $900+ repair but was fully covered. I did have to drag out the receipt from when I purchased it together.

Perhaps with the Apple Watch they do it the same way... bands purchased with the watch are covered? I don't know but just throwing it out there. Your comment about "supported configuration" doesn't completely make sense to me because aren't all the bands supported on all the watches (correct size of course).

In theory, what would happen if all the DLC coating was wiped away? Say two years from now, our watches are all banged and scratched up. Remove the black coating and polish the steel? What would that look like?

Hey SB Fam, I'm looking for an adapter for my wife's SB 42mm so that she will be able to put on 22mm straps. Any suggestions/recommendations ?

Any ladies on here sporting SBs and want to chime in on which 22mm bands they like the most?

Thanks

Anyone else find their Space Black SS watch scratch just as easily as the regular stainless steel? I have mine less than 24hrs and found micro scratches on the sides. I also have a Space Grey Sport and keep going back to it and find it more "techy" looking. Plus, it seems to match better with my Space Grey iPhone 6+.... need opinions!

Nope, not the first scratch on mine and I'm hard on watches.
i even lightly slid the corner of my SBSS across a table edge just to see if it would do anything and it left a scuff mark.. -___- what do you do that you don't have any scratches??

Got any pictures? DLC shouldn't scuff that easily, are you sure it's not some type of residue from the item you rubbed it against? If it is truly scuffing the Watch case I would contact Apple, maybe it didn't get applied correctly. DLC is a very tough coating, I have a competion gun being built right now with DLC coating because it is so tough and durable.

Just attached 2 pictures with the scuffs. The bottom is showing more wear. But can't get a good pic.

Just posting a few pics of both my SBSS and SG Sport with a black Milanese loop I picked up from JetTech. Both look great in it. In the light the sport looks better with it due to the connectors being black aluminum instead stainless steel. But the Milanese itself is stainless. Paid about $80 on Amazon.

Sucks! Nothing on the front, side yet and I've bumped mine quite a few times since mid June. I'm a little ticked off at this though - since this was in my control. Few specs of dust that collected on my puck charger caused this! I should've realized this sooner and cleaned off the surface of the charger.

Talk about sensitive! It's hidden thankfully, but I know it's there and it drives me a tad nuts.
So..just a tip, keep your charger surface completely clean, smooth and dust free at all times.

Want to get another sport band for my space black. It came with black.

Anyone has pictures of white and antique white? How about stone?

Thanks.

The only problem which Apple has with the watch is that it doesn't look that cool on photos as it does IRL. I absolutely love the way the watch feels and looks right in front of my eyes, but every time I try to make a photo of it it looks chubby and bulky - but it's not.

Haha.

It looks absolutely beautiful in this picture!

I love the look of mine.

This is the Sport with White Band. I like it, it's very different. Especially for me since I usually wear all dark bands.

Not too bad. I want to get a white or antique white for my space black.

The sport looks decent as well.

Very true! The photos I grab from my phone do not do it justice. I would like to try and take my Canon DLSR w/ Macro lens and get better photos with better lighting...it could look better. But it's nothing IRL. Best option is to actually go to an Apple store and simply try a watch on with the white band, fog, and other color options.
