Space Black owners thread.

Finally decided for the 42mm SS SB (sitting in front of a still closed SS and SS SB because I couldn't decide yet :D). Does anybody of you use it in gym for weight lifting? I'm planning to do so (and running etc.), which made me think about a kind of protector for the SS SB case in this situations (want to take it off as soon as leaving the gym, meaning it shouldn't be too complicated to remove). I'd like to know, if anybody's got a suggestion for a protector, which doesn't scratch the DLC of the SS SB.

I just got mine and thought of the same thing, but remember: it is a watch (i.e. Meant for wearing)?

Why spend $25 for a bulky cover/case when apple care is $50??

+1 For just throwing AC+ on the watch. The DLC coating is super durable. You're not going to hurt it against any equipment at the gym. Heh. If anything, you'll need the AC+ in case you smash the sapphire. :)
Really hate to see people putting fugly cases on their watches!!! :)

well my SSSB band wore while possibly occasionally wresting my left hand on the desk over a 6 month period. I have AppleCare but was told that it was because of misuse and they wouldn't replace it. That wouldn't have happened to SS band. I believe my coating must be faulty or they have changed the depth of coating because it only was a wooden desk. I wouldn't purchase SB band again.

There are no scratches or dents in the band just the coating is worn off.

I am right handed and wear it on my left.

That's actually typical of the Apple bands. I don't wear my link every day, so I haven't seen it (have 9 bands in total, so tend to swap them out a lot).

Pretty sure the coating on the watch body is a lot thicker and more durable than the coating on the band (which is unfortunate, considering how much they charged us for it!)

It’s a 38 Series 0, just bought on a heavy discount (in Europe). Before this I had a 42 Gold with Midnight Blue Sport series 0, but it seemed a bit large. Selling that anyway…

I might add that, versus WatchOS 3 on the Sport, the 2.2 on the SS is much better and don’t really see much difference in speed. I sorely missed Glances on 3 and Apple should bring them back.

WOS 3 really seems geared to the frequent app user, but I am a kind of a passive user.
Does anyone feel that 2 was better? Not that I’m that kind of guy, I update all my devices to the latest version.

That's what exactly happened to my SS link when I purchased for my 42mm SS. Posted some pictures here and people were telling me I was lying and must have rubbed it on concrete or worse. Lol - turned out to be my work desk with a Formica type of top. Any resting on it and sliding at all would cause that rubbing off of the coating.

I sent picture to Apple and they sent me one for free overnight and didn't want the old one back. The new one did the same thing before I realized what caused it. Pretty cheep if you ask me, but it wasn't any real damage.

scratches arent noticble, very scratch resistant, got a small little pin hole sized scratch in mine but wasnt deep enough to show silver. cant be polished.

I personally am going back to regular stainless steel, much more eye catching at night.

i wanted the 42 mm black stainless steel but couldn't find them anywhere...looked on istock now and found a stainless steel 42mm and man it makes me feel fancy the way it shines. i wanted to get the blue leather band to switch it out but they don't have in stores....i am happy with my choice. since i have the sport space gray series 1 watch.

I have the black stainless and not putting anything else on it besides a black band. The only one I use is the sport band that it came w bc it is so versatile.

OS3 smokes the previous versions. Everything is snappier and is more intuitive.

that looks perhaps even better than midnight blue :)
The FanTEK bands are so inexpensive, why not have both? :) I have the midnight blue, but so impressed with the quality of these, I might order the Ocean & Royal Blue's as well as the Green. :)

Ooh...or maybe the Orange. Damn...won't be here in time for Halloween unless I expedite it. :)

I have had a SB for awhile now. SB link, sport and I almost wear the black Milanese with it 99% of the time. The black Milanese is absolutely awesome and I'm glad they did it.

I haven't searched the forums, but does anyone here expect Apple to release a black ceramic and would you upgrade? I love my SB too much to even consider series 2(wouldn't really want to spend the $$$ anyways again on the "same" thing). White ceramic has been tempting.

What's everyone think and has the ceramic edition been tempting? Our watches were 1,000 when they hit the market in the beginning and we all had a looooooooong wait. I think a lot of us might be tempted if the push out a piano black ceramic. :p
