Hmm. The Space Black Link bracelet is still available in the UK store. I'm half tempted to buy it, but it's so astonishingly expensive, I really don't think I can justify it.

I'm also thinking of getting the Space Black Milanese Loop -- anyone got any feedback on the long-term quality of it? And on the breathability? I find my Leather Loop gets quite sweaty if I exercise at all. The Nike band is much better in that regard, but less good looking.

Rave reviews for the Milanese, but be careful as it can scratch the sensors on the back. I also wouldn't use the Milanese for exercise as I find they shift/loosen with lots of movement.

Finally joined the SS SB team. Went with a 38mm as I have 167mm wrists and I wanted the watch to be sleeker versus too gadgety. Was able to get it for 500 shipped so hopefully that was a good deal.

My interpretation of this is cost of returns and negative feedback surrounding perceived quality, which I may add is unwarranted as the finish is great, unless obviously abused. I guess this means those who already have this combo will have an increasingly rare watch, with and more stable resell value, which is great news. By the way I have the space black stainless link (un scratched), and love it ;)

I doubt the Watch/link band was receiving negative feedback because of quality. Apple makes a nice product and I personally have read zero complaints regarding the link bracelet, being it's made very well.

Also, the link bracelet and Apple Watch have horrible resale value. The link bracelet used barely fares $200.00 and a used Apple Watch drops in value dramatically being its technology and the market is saturated with them.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the quality of the stainless link and Watch. I plan on keeping mine until they are rendered useless to me.

I think compared to the competition most Apple products fair far better in terms of resell value and desirability. SS SB and SS link sell used for £600 in poor/average state and £700+ (Saw one in Jan sell for £900) if fair to good condition, which I think is pretty damn good. As you said, it's not something I will do either as I enjoy the watch, maybe when they launch the 3 ;)

When you're comparing resale value with the Apple Watch and other competitor products, yes, I would agree with you the Apple Watch does hold value over those products for popularity and build quality.

However, just in general for resale value, the Apple Watch does decline rather quickly, which includes the link bracelet, even though they are both built very well. When you factor in the Apple Watch is a piece of technology that is replaced every 12–18 months, it doesn't hold in comparison to a higher end mechanical watch that will ultimately retain its value or gain value over time.

Picked up an open box original Space Black Apple Watch for $100 today from Microcenter. Had no intention of buying an Apple Watch, but while browsing their site last night I happened across it and couldn't say no for the price, even if it is a "series 0". Not a mark on it. Now if I can only find some quality leather bands with black or space black hardware. Maybe reading this thread will help.

Agreed, I would never buy one as an investment, but that goes for any smart technology. I would never compare the Apple Watch with any Swiss made time piece, I have no doubt a Rolex Pepsi will hold its value better than any SS/SB ;) but in the field that the Apple smart watch exists it is without the most desirable and holds its price the best of the bunch. An investment it is not

Ah ok, still seems odd to take away such a prolific option and pinnacle model? I mean it's only the link strap other than a stainless model. If it's selling without issue my guess is it would still be up there. Apple isn't renowned for being cheap, so it can't be a case of it being overpriced or out of people's reach financially. Apple is a money making machine, complicated product lines and combinations are what they do, more choice, more sales. My interpretation of this is cost of returns and negative feedback surrounding perceived quality, which I may add is unwarranted as the finish is great, unless obviously abused. They just did it to have less configurations. Now, the watch combinations feature only sport bands, Milanese loops and Hermès leather. You can still buy all the other bands separately.

you can find some amazing leather bands on Etsy.......

Ps. That is a great price and it will be a series 0 as many of the stores were burned with leftover "jewelry grade" Apple Watches and most did not stock the "jewelry grade" series 2 watches.

Is whatever's in the microphone hole white for everyone? It makes it look like a white dot on mine (first generation Apple Watch). I find it interesting that everything on the watch was made black (not including the bottom sensors) but this one hole is white.

I don't have that on mine. Nor have I heard of that before. Can you take a photo of what you're referring if possible.

I have not seen that either. Everything is black other than the bottom of the sensors. Are you certain it is not blocked?

Hm, that's strange. I will try to get a pic tomorrow but it's so small, not sure if it will show. Mic works perfectly, but I saw that and thought it seemed weird. If I shine the led flash from my iPhone into the two speaker slits I see a black mesh in the holes similar to in the iPhone earpiece, but in the watch's mic hole, there's not anything so you just see whatever's inside that happens to be white, so maybe the black mesh was there at one point and fell out.

That defintely doesn't sound right. I would be interested to see a picture if possible.

Here you go- it'd definitely not blocked. If anything it just looks like there's nothing in there.

This is what mine looks like, but this is a Series 2. (Thank you iPhone 7+ for the ghastly detail of the 2x zoom!)

There's nothing white inside my two holes on my S2. Totally dark inside. (I looked with a torch, lol.)

Here is a photo of my Gen 1 / Series 0 Space Gray Sport. My Series 2 SBSS of course has and additional hole, but none of them are white on either watch.

Strange... don't know what to make of this o_O Just hope it doesn't compromise the water resistance if something is missing (like the mesh in the speaker holes).

Why would some watches apparently not have them then according to this thread?

That second photo you linked, is the only other one I have been able to find, aside from your own, that has the white material showing. I am guessing there are more out there, but were you an early adopter? Could it be something Apple quickly changed?

If you have an Apple store nearby, maybe you could ask them their thoughts on it?
