Had the Dell XPS 13 for 2 days (borrowed it from a friend after my previous MacBook died) and hated the look and feel so yeah I've used it and I hated it..

If that's your thing then cool..

Fair enough. You're unusual in that opinion though.

Not really.. My friend hates it as well which it why it was an extra computer that I was able to borrow..

Well, you and your friend have a different opinion from every review (most explicitly mention it) and my own experience. Which is fine, but it doesn't seem to be a majority opinion.

Honestly I don't even care about the color anymore, I just want my damn MacBook already. Still gotta wait 2-3 more weeks :(

Go with whatever your gut tells you. Sounds like silver is for you.

My opinion is that the grey is more suitable for the harsh extreme light in the apple store where the silver one almost blinds you. However thats not realistic lighting, I use my computer in half dim lighting at home. There the silver looks great where the grey would look too dark imo.

But if you are planning on using your computer outside in the sun a lot or in a very brightly lit environment the SG might be more ergonomic.

On the whole, I think I would probably enjoy the silver more from an aesthetic standpoint once the novelty wears off.

But I'm a remote software engineer who codes in all sorts of environments, and I've been using a base 13" in SG, sometimes working on my patio or outside of cafes. The lack of glare coming from the body and esp the perimeter of the bezel makes a difference when working outside. The screen quality is also a nice step up coming from a 2014 13" rMBP.

I've seen people talk about wear and such on the palm rests, that is a bit of a concern. I did get some wear in those areas on a 2008 MBP, but since then all my computers have been free of it as I clean them at least once a week.

For all of you that can't make up your mind before you purchase and then subsequently exchange your Macs for a different one, often multiple times, thanks for keeping Apple's prices high.

Yeah that one person exchanged 3 times due to color? That's insanity right there!

I guess if Apple allows it then it is what it is but...... C'Mon man!

After returning my 15" MacBook Pro w/TB in Silver, I picked up a 15" MacBook Pro w/TB in Space Gray. I only returned the first one due to the display going haywire it was a 2.7 with 455 graphics card. The Space Gray was all the local Apple Store had in stock. It's pretty dark. Having had both within the week I would say either color is good. To me, the space gray doesn't "hide" the gap from touch bar to the display.

Nice, Which did you prefer the silver or the gray? I'm returning my 2.9Ghz i5 13 SG for a base 2.6Ghz 15 but with upgraded 512 SSD (The base comes with 256). I was debating at first of getting the i7 13 but with my student discount the base 15 with the SSD upgrade is only $87.10 more than the i7 16gb, 512gb 13. $87 for pretty much twice the multi-core performance is a no brainer. The i7, 16gb with 512 SSD would cost me $2557.47 after tax. The base 2.6Ghz 15 with 512 SSD upgrade is $2644.57 after tax

Honestly I like both colors. in the end Space Gray just fits best with all my accessories like Sonos speakers, Master & Dynamic headphones, iPad Pro etc.. the only thing that might appear different is the over all look, as in the space gray appears smaller to the eye, at least mine.

Also, go with the 15" in the end you'll wish you had the bigger display.

Weird thing. The silver looks better on rmb, but the space grey looks better in 2016 mbp. I dont know why, i just feel it this way lol.

after two days using my space gray and using it under bright lights this evening....I see how dirty my hands actually are lol. just need to wash them more often!!!! great machine out and about...15" MacBook w/TB

I went with Silver for both of mine; both were in stock at my local Apple Store.

Quite frankly I prefer the Silver because it is the classic color and I think that it will not show scratches as poorly as the Space Grey might. I also feel like it will be a more unique color for this generation as most seem to be opting for the Space Grey.

It really comes down to preference and I prefer the classic look!

I have a 2016 SG 12" MB and I had a 15" MBP 2016...the 15" had issues and I returned it. I picked up a 13" mid-level model 2016 MBP and they only had the traditional silver. I wasn't thrilled with that. But I took it anyway. Now that I've had it for 24 hours...I'm SO happy to be back to the traditional silver. Now I want an iPhone in silver with black trim (if they made it) :)

nope me too - can't stand carbon fibre and won't touch anything with it.

To add to the space grey vs silver debate, here are some more of my thoughts on it :

Silver - has a cleaner more professional aesthetic. Feels like an honest material and not paint. Looks great in non direct sun, with a matte finish. Doesn't show marks up too much.

Space Grey - Great under office / retail lighting, awful under incandescent home lights [basically anything without a filter]. Changes colour under different lighting. Looks amazing in darker spaces. Will show marks easier.

Here is the important thing - don't try and match up colours of iPads etc to the laptop as in fact with an space grey iPad / black iPhone etc will look better with a silver MBP. This is because the iOS devices are slabs of black so the silver offsets these better. I have both of these and tested them out with the finishes. Apart from my headphones, everything looked better with silver [and I mean with the lid open].

Hope this helps someone, but also colour is subjective, so if you love it, buy it :)
