I ordered my first MacBook ever and it's a silver one. The space gray option looks like something HP uses.
I think it looks even better in a dark room.. Love it when the grey merge into the surroundings, less obstruction.Space Gray would be a killer if it had the glowing Apple logo. Otherwise no, how would we differentiate ourselves from the HP and Dell commoners?
Dang, even the ASUS I'm still using as a gaming machine is dark gray.
And I think Silver just looks classic, just like I like my car to be black and dress shirt to be white. The SG looks good under good lighting but it looks hideous in a dark room.

What do you guys think would you go for ? the Space Gray Colour or the Silver rMBP ? which looks chic?
I went to look in person a few days ago and I'm really taken by the look of the space grey. Definitely go for the space grey.

For the 13 inch I would definitely go silver, but for the 15 inch the case looks a lot sleeker in space grey. The silver Apple logo doesn't stand out as much as the dark logo for the space grey. And the speaker grills look too vast and ugly on the silver model... just my two centsit does look great in a dark room. Unfortunately for me my usage isn't in a dark room, so the silver won out [after lots of time comparing in different lighting conditions]. The variation in the SG is what killed it for me.
Like a girl you pick up when drunk - looks great in the dark, but when the lights comes on it's a different story![]()
I actually felt the opposite. I like the silver on the 15 inch and space grey on the 13. The silver one looks really nice on the 15 inch this year and i dont even know why lol. I got too much dell/hp vibes from the space grey 15For the 13 inch I would definitely go silver, but for the 15 inch the case looks a lot sleeker in space grey. Soooo the only space gray laptop I owned prior to my 15" was a 12" MacBook. That 12" was thrown in and out of bags with no damage. I'm guessing it was small enough. Just took my 15" out of Thule backpack to find a wonderful scratch from the zipper. So maybe space gray, if you want it to stay perfect, shouldn't be carried in a bag that has the zipper close to the laptop compartment

Your post made me reconsider my color... silver or space greyYep. If you have an space gray iPad Pro it's silver like the edge on that.
Dark menu bar / dock is a must with Space Gray. This feels fresh and new after 8 years of use of MacBooks with that same old silver design with black keys. Space Gray looks much better with black keys in my opinion.
Well I have seen the Space Grey one but haven't seen the Silver one I think I like the silver one based on past modes when compared it to Space Grey.
Just worried about scratches but really love the new space grey look. :/ any other space grey users experiencing scratches and dings?
