Coming from a person who has spent 200+ on iPhone cases over the years (something I'm not particularly proud of:eek:), I LOVE this case! IMO, it's the best iPhone case ever made. Lightweight, slim and sexy.

I put it on for about 5 minutes and here are my thoughts.

Pros
:apple: Not as big / heavy as the Otterbox commuter.
:apple: The lip around the screen is nicely protective.
:apple: It looks cool and unique (I got the metal slate)
:apple:The webbing on the inside is a great idea for dealing with heat from the phone

Cons
:apple: Open hole in the back (this can be fixed by putting on a back screen protector)
:apple: Buttons are not as responsive as I would like. The apple leather case is much better in this regard.
:apple: The back plastic piece is slippery
:apple: The back plastic piece has sharp uncomfortable corners.

The last two are deal breakers for me.. The case makes the phone uncomfortable to hold and slippery enough to cause me to drop it more often..

Because of my last case from SGP and all of the great reviews, I was honestly expecting more from Tough armour.
I had the SGP Ultra thin air for my iPhone 4s. One of my favourite things about it was the rounded sides. It also had a glossy plastic that didn't slip out of my hands easily. With the Tough Armour you gain protection but lose those attributes that make it a pleasure to hold and keep ahold of..

5 minutes later it went back into it's packaging and the apple leather case back on the phone.. I really like the leather case. However for those times I feel like I'm going to need more protection, I'm still looking for a better solution.

How much do you want for it?

Just received my SPG TA black case this morning.
I am very please with it. The quality look sharp and it fits like a glove to my 5S.
Going to put my Glas t slim on it and it should offer great protection moving forward.
Now, lets see how it holds the following weeks. So far great job SPG.

I had a 4 foot drop last night on concrete. The phone landed on the corner, bounced and didn't have a scratch on the phone or the case.

So you can have the choice of the glass to normal screen protector.

So you can have a choice? Seems kind of silly considering the whole point of that deal is to get the glass with the case. Just thought it was weird that you get a regular screen protector too.

So people don't prefer glass like me. I have the tech armor screen protectors.

I have never tried glass. It makes me nervous because if it shatters, the outer glass can still scratch the inside glass. Maybe that's silly..

I also like the extra but of traction I get from the plastic screens.

Just got mine, direct from Spigen. Really sweet looking case. Installed the Tr.Slim and they go really nicely together. Case arrived a week after ordering so their stocking looks okay.

It's tempered glass, so it won't "shatter" ,no risk in it scratching the screen of your phone

Got mine yesterday, feels great for me on my grey 5S.
It certainly gives one the impression of "well-protected". Buttons are fine for me to push, maybe the feels ain't as comfortable as original click feels.
However for maximum protection I recommend to get front and back protector.

Just got my case/screen-protector bundle this evening and after removing my Otterbox Commuter case & installing the Spigen product, I can say this...

Pros: Slimmer than the Otterbox. I like the overall feel better, since the OB felt pretty chunky & boxy...and the Defender (supposedly the case the Spigen Tough Armor is really gunning for) is even worse. I like the "feel" better. I also like the ease of installation...much like a Speck Candyshell case.

Cons: I don't feel like the Spgen case would be as protective as either one of the Otterbox cases in the event of a 5' drop or so. The edges are sharp & not smooth. The fit/finish of the Spigen case is not up to par with the Otterbox products. The back of the case is slippery, and the matte paint job is a huge fingerprint magnet! A bit of use makes the back of the device look messy.

Overall, after just a few hours of use I can tell ill use the Spigen case for a while. I like it, although I just don't believe it's the winner of this contest.

I had the spigen leather flip, phone fell of chair onto tiles chipped edge where the leather didn't cover. Sold it got tough armour, dropped it 6ft off my shoulder onto tiles, phone good just some pits and marks on case. It did land flat on its back though. I have a defender too and its not as slippery and is better protection although bigger.

loose

Guys i still haven't got my 5s but got the case (still waiting my sister to bring me the phone) and removable part of the case feels tiny bit loose. But i haven't put my phone in yet so i cannot be sure, how was back part for you guys ?

pictures show a slight gap in the back part, makes it look like it would be loose.

As I am sure everyone knows, the back plastic plate comes off. Is there anyway to order different color ones? I got the black...it is nice looking but I would like to have another color possibly.

Best,

Blue

I have slate but traded in my silver phone for a gold one so now I'm just looking for a gold plate lol. I contacted spigen about exchanging or just buying a gold plate but they haven't responded.

I have noticed that the back part tends to be loose when not used or clammed to phone. Once you snap it on to the phone, the backpart becomes tight that it is hard to remove it. Over all, the case itself has a really good grip once it is snapped on to the phone. Nothing to worry there buddy.

Tested with Beats Solo remote/mic and yes it works perfectly. Nice tight fit.
