iPhone 5

At the end of all this, I just want my phone that first moment when I hold it and power it on and see that amazing apple logo it will be so precious.

Now back to reality. . . . . Ordered on Fri. at 11pm at night. I just know I have to wait that extra week, but have hope for this Friday. No tracking number, reference number does not work so my device has not even been shipped out i'm thinking. My device probably is still in parts waiting to be assembled, but if I get any info I will update to compare.

sooo...I called sprint to check whats going on. And the order is coming from UPS not fedex and I live in long island new york. I made the deadline for the "first come first serve" iphones. I will be receiving the tracking number no later then Thursday. Thats what the guy said in order support. we will see!.

And the authorized charges were finally settled yesterday, which assumably indicates the items have shipped.

I bet the bottleneck here is going to be Sprint's systems supplying us with tracking numbers—I know that a couple million more pieces to deliver isn't a big deal for FedEx or UPS.

As a new customer who hasn't gotten an e-mail saying anything about shipping or account activation, I called Sprint up. The guy I talked to gave me an order number (more than what I had!) and told me where to type it in. Still no tracking number but at least it tells me "the equipment has shipped and/or the activation is complete."

As a longtime customer of Sprint, I feel you should know that 90% of the time their customer service has no idea what the hell they're talking about.

I've just discovered this before my preorder. I called asking to see if I could create a line, but was told i'd have to wait for the phone to come out. I asked when they close and he said "I don't know"
 
I feel like a complete stalker I check the order several times a day using the "oy" order number and "dm60" in hopes that I will find out something!! I ordered my iPhone5 16gb in white at 6:35pm EST and by all accounts I know in my brain it will probably take 2 weeks for me to get it; however I would feel better if I knew for definite one way or the other and that is where I think the sprint system I lacking. This is my first pre-order with sprint and I can honestly say that the communication about the order status literally sucks.. Had I known this would be an issue I would have ordered directly from apple.... Ugh!

my 1st sprint pre order as well, my black 16gb was ordered at 3:22am CST

i just wish i had a tracking number so i could follow my phone around like everyone who ordered from apple.

It's a trade off really. I mean Apple.com was sold out in an hour, so by the time you ordered, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be more than 2 weeks away. So you are going for the chance of getting it earlier and IMO it's worth it.

these days we expect any online order to give us enough information so we can obsess about it the whole trip to you. we can argue whether it's a good thing or bad thing. but for me the truth is, as long as it gets to me on release day, I have no complaints.

I preordered with Verizon for the iPhone 4 when it first came out and I do not remember the anticipation being this high for it to come. But I do remember the phone showed up like a day or so earlier than I expected. So I am hoping we will at least get them by Friday... I can't wait to see some sprint people with tracking numbers!!!

thurs we will have tracking numbers if not late wed.
 
Their C/S is horrible. Every time i have to call them for something, i go straight to retentions and don't even mention cancelling, just go about with whatever i need. It did take me 4 calls to them to get them to let me buy my upgrade, crazy that i had to explain to the rep that hooked me up, that it will cost me $70 to walk away from Sprint and go elsewhere to get the iPhone 5, or, you can take a lot more money from me by allowing me to upgrade now. Charged me $70 last Thursday, I was able to upgrade Friday morning. Got off topic there a little, but no tracking number for me yet either.
 
Does anyone know why my iPhone order lists my iPhone as "EXCH IPHONE 5 BLACK 16GB" instead of simply "IPHONE 5 BLACK 16GB"?

I ordered my phone on the 14th at 3.20am but Sprint called me the following day 15th to get my info to transfer my old phone number. I then received an email saying that my old order number is invalid and to use a new number in the email. When I use my old number it says my order is cancelled, and my new number says "The equipment has shipped and/or the activation is complete" However the phone is listed as "EXCH IPHONE 5 BLACK 16GB".

Anyone have any idea what it means?
