Well, I recieved my tracking number for my Black 32GB 4S about 11AM EST yesterday. No updates on it since then, not too concerned with that but I'm definitely getting antsy.
Here's a screenshot for those interested.

Off Topic: Only if we in the US were as lucky as the people over in Germany, I'm sure they're loving their new phones. I've been stuck with an EVO4G (awesome hardware, not so awesome software IMO) since December after having to close our AT&T account and selling my iPhone 4. Will be great to be back, my iPad's the only thing that kept me in the loop.![]()
Hmm....
My tracking number in UPS still shows as a label being created but nothing else.
When i plopped it in iShip, this came up:
Can I rely on what iShip is telling me??
I read somewhere about that too, but like you, I took it with a grain of salt.
I ordered via Sprint's website about 10-11AM Friday. But I expected them to come straight from China like my iPhone did last year. Who knows, Sprint would chalk up a win in my book they were really in Kentucky and we got them early.![]()
Quick question for everyone here. I currently have a 16GB white model iphone 4Gs reserved at bestbuy. However, with all the preorder mess going on with bestbuy, I was thinking about canceling it and preordering a 32GB Model iPhone 4S through sprint instead.
With that said, if I were to preorder with Sprint...do any of you think I'd still get it on 14th or the 15th like the site states or should I just go ahead and keep my preorder with bestbuy?
Sprint is setting up the shipments early since they probably have hundreds of thousands of orders to fill. That is why they are rolling out the tracking numbers starting yesterday through today (and why some of you don't have your tracking numbers yet). The actual shipment will not be picked up from the Kentucky warehouse until tomorrow, they will then be scanned in and then sent to all of the customers 2nd day air for Friday delivery. I work for a company that ships a ton and we create shipments through UPS (and FedEx) sometimes days before we actually get them picked up.
I hate to burst everyone's bubbles, because I would love to have my new iPhone now, but unless there is an error, no one will get them early. Sprint would get killed by Apple if they broke the street date. Not good for Sprint just after they finally got the phone.
Except for Germany who already got theirs.....Screw that I like dealing with an American company because it means a good deal to me knowing they cater to The states first. I hate always getting the playstation late, after Japan, but i realize that that is how it should be and applaud them for having some pride. Im not pretending that your post doesn't make sense or ring true.Quite the opposite, its the most Logical and welt thought out analysis of the situation i have seen. However thats all out the window when Germany receives their orders early and now my expectations are different/ have changed. At the least apple should release any holds early, I know this is a logistical nightmare for both companies, but it can be done.Sprint is setting up the shipments early since they probably have hundreds of thousands of orders to fill. This sounds plausible, although I'm sure a few will trickle out early.
Anybody else have this happen?
Then I noticed the shipping weight of mine is 1.80Lbs, while all the screenshots here are 1.10Lbs. Do you think its possible that Sprint merged the shipments on their own into one box? That'd be great if they did, I mean they are going to the same address afterall. Can anyone with 2 iPhones coming confirm that their shipping weight is 1.80Lbs instead of 1.10Lbs?
Thanks!

That's an interesting point. From reading around on these forums, there always seem to be "quite a few" iPhones coming in 1-2 days early on preorder. That said, with the sample size of a message board what does "quite a bit" really mean? Probably nothing statistically relevant.
However, for anyone that wants to hang on to early delivery hope (just for the fun of it), I'll provide you with a completely made up and not based from any experience explanation of why a significant number will be released early: There are over a million iPhones being shipped out this week. There's no way they can hold them all until Wednesday and flood the delivery system with them at the same time. Therefor, some portions of them will, by necessity, have to be delivered Wednesday and Thursday.
Ummm, is it really coming Wednesday?
Your scenario does have merit, even though there is no proof that it is true.
Problem with the sample size of the message boards getting them early, you would have to start by weeding out the people that are lying and just saying it for attention. That number gets cut in half easily if not more.
All those that show information received on Oct 10th are still sitting in Sprint's warehouse. They'll likely go out tomorrow. Wednesday night we'll see about 150 posts stating that their package is moving with a delivery date of Friday!!!
So during the debacle of last Friday's pre-order melee I was forced to contact Sprint customer service multiple times due to incorrect shipping address concerns. (Shipping to billing address of family plan (aka parents house) rather than my physical address) I was ordering a 32gb iPhone4s for the discounted upgrade price of $299 plus Applecare+ for $99.
As I spoke to a rep about my issue they stated that my original pre-order would need to be cancelled and that I would need to place a *new* pre-order for the new shipping address to take effect. Supposedly they canceled my first and helped me process a new one with the corrected shipping address.
What should I do here?
Should I return the extra phone or is there another option for me since I am getting an extra 32gb iPhone4s for the discounted upgrade price? I imagine there are some Sprint users eager to get an iPhone that did not have the option to purchase one at the upgrade price, but is it worth trying to hunt one down on Craigslist, Ebay, etc...?
What do you guys think?
