Hey Apple 9to5, what time did you place your order? Just curious since you and I seem to be in the same boat. I ordered around 5am EST once I could access the Sprint website.

I ordered at 4.30 EST too - 2 black 64gb - and still no tracking, so frustrating! people who ordered way later in the day have tracking numbers and we don't??

Mine's being delivered to NJ, is the East coast a factor?

I did it with Country
and without Zip.

We have a couple different addresses on our account (though, all in the US), so just to be safe, I left the Zip out.
 
I ordered (2) 32GB iPhone 4S's, (1) White and (1) Black, and AppleCare+ for both at 5:55AM on 10/7 through my account at Sprint, and received my email order acknowledgement from Sprint at 5:58AM. When I check the status at www.sprint.com/myorder with the order number from the email I see a UPS tracking number has been assigned. When I go to the UPS site to check status of the tracking number I got this message:

"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

The UPS site also shows that it will be shipped by 2nd Day Air service.

What makes me nervous is that when I check the status at www.sprint.com/myorder by using the order number from my Sprint account, which is different from the order number in the email I received, it says that my order is being processed and there is no tracking number listed.

Has anyone else seen this? Why two different order numbers?

The lady said I won't be able to login until the port is complete which is estimated to be end of Oct. They said just call back when the phone has been received and they can activate then and I'll have access to logon. I hope the port doesn't take that long.

As I said in my post, I think the 'by end of Oct' is just the time window for the scheduling of the port. As soon as the phones are delivered and activated, the numbers should be ported. That's how it's suppose to go. I've been with AT&T for 8 years, so my knowledge is a bit rusty. Did land line telephony work years ago and the port window was about a week or two for that. If a hookup was rescheduled by more than that, the porting would have to be rescheduled. I just hope the porting is cleared before the end of my AT&T billing period(17th of the month). Would hate to getting billed another month of service for little to no use. And you know AT&T would do it too.

Other than that, my Sprint order is still just showing the it's being processed.

I think I might be a in a similar (though not the same) boat as you. I ordered a 64 GB black model from Sprint's website early on Friday, Oct 7; got an email with my order number at 4:38 am EDT and the BAN email at 11:37 am EDT same day. Up til now I still haven't received a shipping notification email or anything with my Sprint account number. Checking my order # at Sprint gives the same generic message others are reporting (I should have it Oct 14th or 15th, but no details on whether it's actually shipped).

I'm a new customer to Sprint. This is my first iPhone, and I'm not porting a number over from any other provider. Once upon a time several years ago I was a Nextel customer, and I'm hoping that my new order doesn't get confused with my old account (different address, etc.), but I guess I won't know for sure until I get the iPhone.

I can't access the Sprint website yet--it doesn't recognize my username or email address. I called Sprint about this and they said it should be working once I get the phone. While I was on the phone with them they gave me the phone number to the iPhone 4S I ordered. Without an account number though, I don't think there's any way I can get better fidelity on shipping details. Do you know if there's any way to track down shipping info with just the mobile #?

Oh well. Looking forward to Friday!

I wouldn't be concerned about this as I have checked in here too and it still shows my Blackberry that I ordered two years ago and "Still in progress" lol

i dont think any of the black iphones have shipped. only the white ones i ordered mine at 7 pm on friday night and only my white 32gb has a tracking number but my 32gb black one doesnt.
 
that's interesting - would make me slightly less paranoid. So it looks like no black pnes have been shipped yet..

I just got off the phone with Sprint -- they don't have tracking information for my Black 32GB iPhone 4S & Black 16GB iPhone 4S online in the order center, but I was assured by the rep I spoke with that I was in the system and I'm slated for a Friday, October 14th delivery.

I was given a number to call to check on the exact status of the shipment (tracking #, etc), but due to unusually high call volume due to the iPhone availability on Sprint's network*, I couldn't get through. If you'd like to try, that number is 866-789-8292.

*I hope the Sprint network can handle the influx of iPhone users!
 
My order status for the black 16GB 4S has been listed only as ''being processed'' and without a tracking number since an hour after they went onsale, but I just connected with Sprint webchat support and heres what the agent said...

Mike: Thank you!
Mike: At this time, there is currently no tracking number assigned to your order yet.
Mike: But the phone is in fact at our warehouse being prepared for shipping.
You: Thanks. Do you have an idea of when I can get the tracking number?
You: Or expect it?
Mike: As of now, I cannot estimate when it will be assigned to you. Some customers have already received it, as far as I know, the way the phones are being shipped is not in order from whoever pre-ordered it first.
You: OK
Mike: We, as Order Support do not have access to warehouse systems, therefore we do not know how they are shipping the phones. But rest assured, you will receive the phone on October 14, 2011 or October 15, 2011.
Mike: You should receive an email once the order is shipped and has a tracking number.

Looks like they are doing it by phone size and color to me. So far no black 16 gigs, and no 64 gig of either color.

Looks like it. You can my add 2 16GB Blacks to the not shipped list (they are two separate orders, not two phones on one order).

One of mine was an upgrade, and the other was a new line of service... has anyone who added a new line to a family plan noticed if the line shows up on their account yet? I'm dying to see what my new phone number will be, but it isn't there yet. I'm assuming it happens when the phone ships, since it will arrive activated. Can anyone confirm?

I added a new line, and it's not on my account either. I'm sure it'll be on there once we turn the phone on.
 
Just Received UPS Tracking Number From Sprint

I ordered a White 16GB 4S on Friday at 10AM. I just received an email from sprint saying they have processed my order.
Sprint included the following blurb:

If you pre-ordered an iPhone, you are one step closer to getting your phone. We know you are dying to get your hands on it. Excluding extreme circumstances, we'll do our best to get it to you Friday, Oct. 14 or Saturday, Oct. 15. Your tracking number included below may not be updated until Friday, Oct. 14.

When I tracked the tracking number UPS said Shipped/Billed On: 10/10/2011
and Order Processed: Ready for UPS. I think it will probably come on Friday. :)
