Lol, trying to freak everyone out? I'd rather let people know ahead of time it's not scratch-proof instead of people getting a scratch and going like "wait, that's not supposed to happen!" If I really wanted to freak people out, I would've posted pictures of the microscratches on the other sides of the bezel which aren't as big a deal.

Also, just to calm everyone down, the scratches are difficult to make out. I had to be under the right lighting conditions to accurately show the scratches. People looking at your watch probably won't notice any scratches.

I bought from the employee store at xx:10:42 but it was up 7 minutes past the hour.

But you guys should know we get zero priority. In fact I was shock d we got the watch at all. We usually have to wait 60-90 days for new products with discount.

weird, well that is why I'm not a network engineer or math major. Figured my small sample size was enough but guess not!
 
So I wonder if Ill get it at the store now that MacRumors is saying stores are already preparing for in store sales. Im still waiting on a July 7-14th shipment

I'm an Apple employee too, setite. Technically, we have been waiting 60-90 days. :)

I think UPS took mine Friday when other items were delivered. :rolleyes:

Stuck another one out there today. Our UPS usually delivers late in the day. I'm home anyway, but if I remember Murphy's Law, I would be indisposed if I didn't put the form on the door. ;)

My update is: 9:02 am Out for Delivery!!

They're also saying that we'll be able to check stock levels at our stores. (so, you'll be able to see if they stock the stores, before filling backorders).
 
I have a feeling the SBSS will be just as scarce in stores as it is online...won't stop me from checking every day till its delivered to my doorstep tho...
 
Well, UPS finally made it to my office and I've got my 42MM SSSB on my wrist. It looks great. As others have stated, light definitely affects the perceived color of the watch. Interestingly, the SSSB is a tighter fit than the plain SS link band that I received a couple of weeks ago. With the plain SS, I removed 5 links to get the fit right. I tried that with the SSSB, and it was way too tight. Without trying to rehash any of the previous arguments on the subject - I like to wear my watch up against my hand, so I know it's not positioned differently, but I get about the same fit with only 4 links removed from the SSSB. I wouldn't think the DLC coating would make a noticeable difference, but it's definitely a tighter fit.

It's finally here!

I am holding off on opening it just in case I find someone who HAS TO HAVE it right now.

If I do help someone out, I guess I will be on the thread again when I order another one for myself.

I'll wait 2 days then it will be mine. I can't stand looking at the box right now. Been waiting way too long!

I know!

I lusted after the SSSB before I even knew what is was. Seeing it announce for the first time, I knew that was the one.

The box is staring at me as I type this..."open me. You know you want to."



Ordered 42mm SSSB April 10 with an Apple time stamp of 12:06:55 pt, delivered today to the Los Angeles area June 1 at 1:30pm. That's a long wait.

Still waiting to be charged. XX:17:58.

I fell alseep about 2:55am on April 10th waiting to put my SSSB order in. Woke up at 3:15am. Who new a few minutes would mean waiting a couple more weeks. It's been a long wait, but I am glad to see that the June shipping estimates are correct.

Ya, lots of disappointment when you can order the 42 sb right now and it's quoted the same 5-6 weeks as us that ordered 04/10 (also from Canada, same

So far, totally worth the wait. I have used a couple different sport models for testing app development, and so far this feels exactly the same, but somehow more polished. I especially like how the blackness of the screen and surrounding metal all blends together, this creates an almost edge to edge seamlessness that was not present in the sport.

The glass certainly has a different finish to it. Also is much heavier, but not at all too heavy or even "heavy" by overall watch standards.

Hang in there, its worth it!

Agreed. Just got mine half an hour ago. The continuity of color and finish between the screen, bezel, and band give the SSSB a more refined look than other models. It doesn't look like a gadget.

Time to actually use it ...
 
Dear, Apple...

My order says 'June', so when, exactly, will I receive my watch? According to my calendar, it is 'June'. The July deliveries know, sorta. They have a general ETA. How about the rest of us?
 
@chulan - also in the maritimes, NS, usually Louisville to mount Hope Hamilton Ontario, then concord Ontario then for me to Halifax. Don't know about NL from concord, wether it's flown to NL or say Moncton, then to NL? I'm sure someone from NL ordered anything apple before and can shed some light for ya :)
