Just look at it!! Also doesn't look as dark as some of the pictures make out in this video. Just looks awesome

Here is another vid from the same guy but with the black sport band with space grey pin on the SS Space Black watch

Thanks so much for that! That's exactly the extra band I'm getting. As I assumed, it's looks great with the sports band. :)

Awesome - exactly what I've ordered (42mm, extra black band with grey pin also)! Shipping 12 - 26 May (UK).

Same combination I've gone for as well, those videos just make me want them more! My band should be here soon though, due between 30th April and 13th May...watch is due between 12th May and 26th May.

I am hoping when they do start shipping, they ship early like the other models. Fingers crossed.

But again, time has shown all of in California are passed over to other parts of the country which leads me to believe they order time and email confirmation time have little relevance. IMHO.

Trust me - Ive got a july wait and wishing i had ordered it at 3:02 instead of my Milanese.
July is a long way away :(

I should have ordered it on 4/10. Thought I wanted it with the sport band (and didn't want to spend that much). Should have put in a reserve order, then checked it out. Ah well, hindsight's 20/20 and all that. I'll get it eventually....and there may even be a .0x release to fix bugs by then.

Confirmation: XX:04
Status: Processing

Anyone in Canada order the 42mm Space Black SS with Link band?
How you received it yet?

Thanks!

I hope we will see some people getting charge next week and possible date change to earlier shipping. Mine still says processing order expect ship in June and no CC charge yet. I check at least 10 times a day and it's driving me crazy!!

BTW I'm thinking about ordering another band for my watch since I work with animal so this will be good for me to wear and I switch to regular band when I go out to dinner, shopping, etc include vacation.

Think this band will look good with space black watch?

I can't wait to get this damn thing. 4 out of 5 times I drop my phone because I'm taking it out of my pocket. It would be great to minimize that risk by doing tasks on my wrist.

The Positives of Waiting

I have actually settled down a lot and am happy to wait for the Space Black to Arrive...here are my reasons why.

1) With the recent news of bad taptic feedback batches coming from the China factory - I am confident they will put a Japanese one (working one) in our Space Blacks. I would hate to wait only to be upset with the quality of the taptic engine.

2) I paid with a credit card - since no charge has occurred - I technically wont have to pay it off until June for the July 1 statement due. (I pay my credit cards in full each month prior to the due date) April was expensive for me...tax bill, MacBook, new tires etc.

3) There are reports of shipments being mysteriously returned to sender during shipping to current apple watch customers. Speculation is that either they are bad taptic feedback batches - or band/model mismatches. I feel confident Apple will fix these mistakes and I want to get my watch free of defects or getting something I didn't order.

4) It will be worth the wait in its quality and feel alone. While this has been the worst Apple launch I have ever been a part of - I feel like the wait will pay off in the end. Sports will be Sports - Stainless Will Be Stainless - but Space Black Links are forever.

The just released review on Engadget says the plain stainless link model looks odd because the case is polished/mirror finish and the links are brushed, which clash. Whereas the Space Black case and links match. Just another good reason to have chosen it.

Engadget has geek tech writers, not anyone who even comes close to understanding fashion and luxury goods. If you look at other stainless steel watches from any of the big brands, you will notice that all of them have a polished (shiny) bezel but a matte finished band. This is because otherwise the shiny band would show much more wear, much faster.

I got the 42 SS SB but I can't say that the regular SS version will not be very nice looking as well. It will.

Its good to find a place where others are wanting the SB SS as much as I do. I held off at first thinking they would release it with the sport band due to cost. The 20 times a day I looked at it since release made me realize it is the best looking one available. Ordered Sunday and am in the July window. Hoping that becomes June or sooner.:)

I liked to check out the other band combos on this link. It has added some of the new sport band colors.

Omega's have a polished bezel and matte finish on the band. Pictured here is mine. However over time (6 years) the bezel gets more matte with scratches.

Also an example that yes stainless steel does scratch people...

A bit of a rash purchase but should get most of my money back for it when the time comes

Great points and I agree on every single one. I'm willing to wait for quality and the SS Black style.

Yes, the bezel is polished but the entire case isn't...

If I were going for the plain stainless link I would hope they would brush the case, because scratches are less noticeable on brushed surfaces. And it looks better when the finishes on the case and bracelet match, which they do moreso with the Space Black.

NO ONE likely got one. They bad ones were scrapped before launch. Apple caught it. Everyone's just speculating on Gruber's. Whole thing was so overplayed.

That may be the case, however I am just going off of the article as well as some posts here in the macrumors forums. I have seen people complain that the haptic vibrations became very weak after a few hours of use - and some who received replacement watches the next day and they say "The experience was completely different".

I hope there isn't a problem with the finish. My SS silver scratches, just like all SS watches. Scratches on a black watch will be much more noticeable and probably ugly.

Let's hope not!

I wish Apple would give some indication about when we might be able to expect the expanded color pallette. I've got a light blue "processing" with a light colored pin, but I feel like it won't look as good as navy blue. (Especially not Navy Blue with an SG pin.)

I suppose it's premature though, since it sounds like first run additional sport bands haven't even started to ship.
