To be honest I have thought about cancelling myself due to reasons listed above. The long wait, the fact I don't NEED it and the fact it's £950 that could be spent elsewhere. However I know if I just cancel I will regret it.

So my plan is to wait until I get it, see what I think, and if I don't like it I'll either sell for a profit or return for a refund, got nothing to loose by waiting it out and giving it a go. If I love it then great, I won't have cancelled and regretted it.

I am May13th to 27th for my space black watch and band. Not cancelling yet but if Apple so much as changes one day later, I will cancel for sure.

I do wish Apple would have been more up front baout the delay in the Space Black units, I am thinking the DLC people were simply not up to the task or worst, there could be a QC problem with the DLC coating.

Theres been something wrong with this product since the beginning, announced 7 months ahead of pre-order, no pricing information or pre-order date until 3 weeks before pre order, no pricing information on AppleCare until the minute it went on pre order, even guided tour videos were all posted late and at different times with the last ones posted a day or 2 before pre orders went live, a good selection of watch configurations 2 weeks later have not shipped yet and neither has any extra band ordered...

People have attributed delays to taptic engine, but what about the bands? this thing wasn't ready AT ALL for release AT ALL... yet Apple for whatever reason felt the need and pressure to still do so..

its pathetic that some pre orders placed today will ship a little before the year mark from when the device was originally announced and by which time it will probably be time to announce a new one and this one will already be "obsolete"..

no you aren't and the reason no-one has one is because apple didn't make any of these until people ordered them. they didn't want to get stuck with a large quantity of an expensive item and have to eat it if no-one ordered them.

There are a few people posting this kind of nonsense on the Watch forum. We aren't talking about some fly-by-night company that would operate like that. Do you actually think that the most valuable company on earth is going to say: "gee, we better not actually make any of these link watches, they are kinda expensive. What if nobody orders them? We don't want to get stuck with 'em"

To be honest I suspect they felt the need and pressure to release it because they themselves said "early 2015" and shot themselves in the foot, but didn't want to backtrack. If they just said "2015" they could have launched it in Sept and still been telling the truth.

However I believe they only found out about the taptic issued in Feb when mass production of the taptic engines was just kicking off, so that was unforeseen.

you guys are in a for a major disappointment if you think that there will people a enough people canceling to make even the slightest dent on moving up shipments

I suspect it had to do more with them aligning themselves with the fashion industry season and events cycle in order to place the product more as an actual piece of jewelry or watch than a product only techy people would pursue, this product also does not appear to have followed the regular product cycle of quality, testing and approvals and I perceive it skipped a few signatures due to the pressure and influence of one individual in that chain in specific as it has been made clear this product was his child and pretty much the product of a tantrum...

a designer who has been trying to position himself as a little superstar within the fashion industry as of late..

In other "times" you would've never seen Apple handing gold Apple watches to celebrities with bands that are not even available for customers ahead of the product being available to customers either..

I would like to say that the explanations for the delay makes sense but they haven't given an explanation for the delay. Saying "Apple never promised you a watch on launch when you clicked buy" is besides the point. This watch is not available because of constrained quantities due to massive pre-order. The ads and when I click "buy" on the Apple store did not tell me that pre-ordering this model would be June until I already did. The June date is irrelevant as none of these watches were ready for launch. This is not the only thread with the subject model did not arrive at launch to anyone and one week later, these have not arrived. "Some models available at launch" might quell some of the criticism. The insane fulfillment of pre-orders of the watches that were actually available have made no sense (the same watch in the same geographic location ordered days earlier still processing while a post April 10 order has arrived). I love apple and my law offices are filled with their devices. I will not defend them blindly when they have disappointed me as this was not the only watch I ordered on April 10 at 3:02 AM Eastern. Neither have changed their status while one of my employees has the same watch I ordered ahead of him (42 MM Milanese Loop). Pre-Order was pointless based upon what I have seen with these deliveries. Regardless of the difficulty the multitude models, bands and times they were ordered in specific geographic regions, just be fair to those the are in line.

Keep in mind they supposedly took orders in one weekend that topped the number of smart watch sales for any single company in all of 2014. Preorders amounted to almost half the total smart watch industry sales in 2014. Given the product category was/is widely regarded as still in its infancy, I am sure Apple was somewhat conservative with inventory build. Especially with the bands that cost more than any smart watch in the former market. I bet these are all build to order and they are going to bulk ship once they have a certain # ready. I don't know. That's the only reason I can speculate that makes sense. Maybe the Chinese taptic manufacturer was supplying all link/modern buckle/leather loop watches which may have been already boxed, needed to be sent back, unboxed, fixed, and sent back out. All speculation. I have a feeling we will never know. I doubt Tim will get into much detail specific to watch SKUs on the July earnings call.

Conservative? Yes, that makes sense, but to think that they didn't manufacture any and decided to wait and see and build them if they got orders? No way.

Did you see this tweets ?

Maybe the first SB Apple watch with link in real life ??

"Just seen my first Apple watch in the wild. A space black link bracelet by the McDonald’s maintenance man. #jobgoals"
https://twitter.com/balderoine/status/594242591274708992

And this one :
"I seen the space black Apple Watch for the first time but I think the person fixing the sign was actually the restaurant owner"
https://twitter.com/balderoine/status/594247081277169665

It was probably just a space grey sport with a black sport band.

oh wait, i have another theory...

theres no inventory to ship cause Apple decided to just keep giving them away to stupid celebrities! So i guess once we see each and every celebrity in the world wearing the watch then we will have a slight clue on when it might be available for shipping...

I dont understand how they don't realize that the way they are handling the release of the product, their silence and the giveaway to celebrities is actually destroying customer loyalty...

If you do not agree with Apples PR, don't buy 1000$+ Watches from them..

I won't ever again.. this product has become the one product i truly despise due to the whole experience since it was announced. When you have been a customer of Apple for close to 30 years tell me about the evolution of customer experience or Apple PR... I am very well aware of Apple PR and how it handles business and by no means this product has followed the norm... but I'm sure you have nowhere near the 30 years of experience with Apple and its products..

The past year has been enough to get the picture where Apple is heading...

Maybe there should be a master venting thread? So many threads get derailed by the same conversation of people being upset, then others who are upset by the complaints. It's not productive.

I know there haven't been many real updates but I'd rather see speculation and shipping dates than arguing.

Slightly embarrassing to admit but I literally had a dream last night that my order changed from processing. New level of pathetic? :p

Another douchebag "celebrity" getting a damn link band AppleWatch before customers who stayed up all night to pre order...

GREAT JOB ALIENATING YOUR CUSTOMERS APPLE!!! WOOHOO GREAT EFFING JOB!!!

Let's be logical: apple don't produce the link apple watch in small numbers, so the fact that some famous people get theirs is a godd signe that there should be some movement in near future for us :)
