I just had a horrible thought. What if the 27th comes and goes.. Then a few days later all of our orders just disappear.
"Sorry about that! Please order another model instead"

9 months later the Space Black Watch is released.

Honestly I wouldn't buy an Apple Watch if they pulled that and this is exactly what happened with the white iPhone

I would freak..

I have a feeling that our watches are going to move this week with delivery on Friday. Let's keep our fingers crossed that my feeling doesn't fool me

A Reddit User was able to get some pictures of the Space Black SS with different straps. In case you're interested: http://imgur.com/a/VDZ6Q

Thanks. Looks great with the black leather loop, which should beat my watch by at least two weeks... Ordered the loop at the same time as the watch (00:08 conf email) and given "June" for the watch. Band is due anytime between now and the 12th (4/29-5/12 window).

No charges or temp authorizations for either, yet.

I've never had a white iPhone, so can't say I was part of that issue, however the white iPhone is applying a white coating to the inside of the glass screen which can't be transparent. It needs to be a solid white and may well have been a new process.

DLC coatings have been around for quite some time, and assuming Apple is using a company which already does DLC coatings on a pretty large scale, then I see no issues. They are applying using standardised processes. It's not a first by any means, so that in itself should negate any of those kinds of worries. :)

I ordered at XX:05 with a May 13 - May 27 shipping date and my Citi card hasn't been touched.. Not even a pre-authorization. Don't know if I believe this.

You would have been preauthorized. I ordered a little later (not much) and instantly saw a popup for the full amount. When I went into my bank account to check it, was completely gone-no charge, it didn't even look like activity.

Ordered on 28th and got "July" delivery.

I don't know what the deal with this model is but they are not being produced quickly. Even in the Apple stores themselves it took several days for them to get display models.

I thought Apple didn't even take preorders for the white iPhone until it was ready.

Lets just remember the watch isn't late. It said June when I placed my order and I have no reason to suspect it will be later than that.

This thread has really jumped the shark. LOL.

Heh...the number of threads (or at least segments of them) where people are absolutely frothing at the mouth (figuratively I hope) is crazy!! :)

It was said that Apple's brand loyalty had surpassed religious levels by many...by that token, I guess they want to kick off a jihad to get their watches. :)

Knew it was going to be a while before I ordered...just have to suck it up and wait. :) Hopefully some of the more annoying bugs are patched by then (figured they'll do a release before the WWDC).

Massive tweet

We should all tweet @tim_cook at the same time asking what's going on with the stainless steel black. He won't be able to avoid a mass tweet like that without some sort of response.

Still, since they have messed things up in the past a little communication would be nice. Right now I'm starting to suspect we won't ever get our watches. And I'm in the early (may 13) window.

There's nothing "going on" until they miss their shipping windows.

On the website it said it was not currently available for pre-order up front while it sat next to the black iPhone that said it was currently available.
But it was clearly not available? Seems markedly different than allowing people to buy something and then later cancel their orders and tell them to order something else.

Sorry Guys, I was moving in over the weekend. I just got around to checking my account. I dont see anything new from Apple.
Might have just been citi finally alerting me that the pre-authorization for the order went through? It came from Citi app - for $1167 or something.
But order status still says 'Shipment in July' so - I guess it was a false alarm.

Yeah that'll work for sure. I'm sure he'll even make it up by giving you a refund and personally delivering it to your door.

There hasn't been anything to even hint that we won't get our watches. Relax, you'll get your watch.

It might just be entitlement but I think we're at least owed a $20 App Store credit or a free sport band or something if the people who ordered by 12:05 don't have watches by the 15th. Especially if link bracelets go out first. Apple is really slapping the faces of those willing to spend the most money here, and they could lose a ton of money if we all decided to cancel our orders.

I know my hype is fading, and fast. I'm about to cancel and spend the $1200 on PC parts. A little communication from Apple would prevent a ton of people from canceling, but alas they are very stubborn.

I think that would definitely be a form of entitlement. There is a shipping window. As long they meet it, they have met your expectations. If they don't make the window, I fully support asking for some iTunes credit for the inconvenience. Have a little faith. I have a strong feeling a lot of us will get our watches by the 13th. So far, they've been exceeding shipping estimates with other watches. Ours will probably be the same way.

But doesn't Apple realize how much hype they're killing? I mean, I would think we are probably the most loyal of fans who ordered this model. I just bought a new MacBook and a pair of Space Grey Solo 2. I love Apple! But even I'm starting to question the need for an Apple Watch. If I'm questioning it, what are the people who paid even less questioning? I'm strongly considering jumping ship and waiting for next gen. At least that one will have a camera.

Tldr I'm whining because this is taking too long with zero communication and it's mostly annoying because so many others are getting their watches after a 1 day wait and now even the link bracelets are going out before our watches. This is getting ridiculous. Then you contact support (the only window of communication) and they're like "LOL EVERY KIND HAS SHIPPED HAHA" why does Apple tell them to lie to us?
