But doesn't Apple realize how much hype they're killing?
To be honest, my hype has only increased with time.
I mean, I would think we are probably the most loyal of fans who ordered this model. I just bought a new MacBook and a pair of Space Grey Solo 2. I love Apple! But even I'm starting to question the need for an Apple Watch. If I'm questioning it, what are the people who paid even less questioning? I'm strongly considering jumping ship and waiting for next gen. At least that one will have a camera and we will stop being nickel and dimed by this company which has totally lost its way since Jobs died.
Well, you're free do whatever your heart desires. I just feel like you're being unreasonable. But to each their own.

Really? I've been reading up on this forum and the watch subreddit and the watch seems less and less epic with every post. Instead of "wow look what my new apple product can do" it's "wow I built a Lego stand" or "wow here's my car"

When the iPhone was released it was monumental. This just seems like it's trying to bite on that early adopter success. Of course the Space Black is mostly for looks and aesthetics which would be fine if every other design didn't look awful. It appears Jony designed our watch and Apple said "great, now how can we make this cheap as hell looking"

I know I'm being unreasonable and I apologize for that. I'm just so conflicted. Last week my hype was on blast, and now I'm like why am I waiting for this again?

Source? (methinks that's wishful thinking)

People are being emotional and unreasonable about availability. Apple communicated dates and (thus far) has hit them. If they start pushing dates out, people will have valid reason to be upset.

Do people not think if there was a way to ramp more production, that Apple wouldn't be doing it?

iPad -> iPad 2 added a camera. I dunno. I don't see why this one doesn't have a camera to be completely honest. That was a huge disappointment for me. I'm firmly in the camp that thinks Apple should have had at least SOME watches available on launch day. It's ridiculous that they didn't.

A little communication from Apple would prevent a ton of people from canceling, but alas they are very stubborn.

But what would they need to communicate about? Would a statement "All watches are perfectly on schedule" make you feel any better? I mean, there's no hints at all that any of them aren't shipping on time.

I HIGHLY doubt the next one will have a camera. For 1, the battery would last about an hour if you used it for face time, and the camera would be useless for other things.

Not to mention, have you tried holding your arm up infront of your face for 30 minutes like you would have to when using face time? Give it a go, then come back and let us know how much your arm hurts. Apple engineers will know that, and hence wont bother with the camera, because after people try it and realise it's more hassle than using their phone, they just wont use it ever again.

Also, Apple are pushing to be a fashion company and a luxury brand. They are moving away from being seen as a tech company. Or at least they are trying to move away. Adding a camera will not appeal to the masses of fashion conscious people who Apple are trying to pull into their brand, as a matter of fact it would probably put them off.

Then there is the fact that the Apple Watch was never meant to be used for long amounts of time at once. It has been built from the ground up to just quickly glance at, spend 10-30 seconds on it and no more. Anything more will require the phone, that has been their ethos from the beginning.

All those things to me say that there will not be a camera on the next watch.

If Apple starts missing then shipping windows... Then they will need a statement/email or something. But as of now things are ok I guess. It would have been great if all models would have shipped something on release day. Even if black s/s was being produced at a lower rate than the sports band.

This is because most people who got one are out enjoying it while we are scavenging for any little bit of news about our Space Black watch :(

Exactly. The way they made it seem is that some people were able to secure an order for delivery on launch day. They made it seem like we were too late, so we got the 13-27th window. This is called misinformation and it would be nice to know our watches are actually being created, as opposed to vaporware (White iPhone 4)

Maybe if Apple hadn't colossally screwed up the white iPhone launch people wouldn't need communication. But here we are.

I dunno. The only friend I have who bought the watch isn't crazy about it. He says it destroys his iPhone battery and he hardly even uses it.

No, it clearly stated 13-27 as soon the store came up. That's not misinformation.

Also, the White iPhone wasn't exactly vaporware since it came out. Also, you couldn't order the white iPhone 4 until it came out. So I'm not sure why you keep bringing it up.

Obviously no one and expected that they wouldn't have a single link watch ready to ship for weeks after launch. It would have been good if Apple would have at least acknowledged the situation and given the public some kind of reason for the long delay. I know I would have appreciated that.

Agreed, I am not sure what people are freaking out about. When we paid it said 4-6 weeks. Until its been 6 weeks and we don't have anything Apple hasn't broken any promises to any of us. They set expectations when you purchased that it would be 4-6 weeks. I am just hoping its 4 instead of 6 or maybe a surprise and showing up this week!

Anything would be better than this. Apple took a product I was hyped about for a year and managed to completely kill off any fraction of hype I had left. Between the rich people at Maxfield cutting in line to this messy uncommunicative launch of their higher end watches I honestly wish I knew what they were thinking. Jobs would be screaming at people. I guess They need someone like that to knock their heads together to avoid this type of catastrophe

Same here. As you may recall I had a 42mm Space Grey for 4/24-5/8 which I cancelled and I haven't regretted that decision for a second. I've seen the Space Black in an Apple Store three or four times now, in addition to my creeping on Instagram, and man oh man is it worth the $1,099. Only a few more weeks to wait!!

We're annoyed because now it seems link bracelets sans watch will be shipping next week, meanwhile we are just sitting here waiting until June while everyone frolics around with their watch. It's ********.

Yeah, I think the standard link bracelet people should definitely be pissed about that because they could have easily ordered a different model and a link and had their combo sooner. However, for us there was only one way to have bad ass black and unfortunately that came with a wait... One that will be worth it!

Yeah my girlfriend ordered a SG sport, and has it. It tortures me, but I'm more excited now that I can see her using hers all the time.

The watches WITH the links are ALSO shipping next week so what's your point?

So that's why you don't care. You've been playing with a watch this whole time. You aren't one of us.

Well, I think that's a bit over the top. It's certainly not a "catastrophe", but I do agree that it would have a been good for them to be more communicative.

We hope. :)

A statement would make me feel better. It would at least acknowledge that they realize that people are anxious for delivery. I agree that unless they start missing the dates given at ordering, there is no reason to be upset at them. Sometimes we just need a little reassurance.

*yawn* Do some people still have nothing better to do with their lives than come on here and moan about a non-issue. I've always been told I'm an impatient person, but even I can't believe some of the posts on this forum.

Honestly, you'd think Apple had robbed them of their money and disappeared overnight. Where as the reality is they haven't lied, they haven't mis-informed you and they haven't missed their delivery dates. Sure they could have mentioned it earlier instead of just putting dates up when the store went live, but as fas as I can see that's their only short coming.

Seriously folks, go out, get laid, get a hobby, do something that will take your mind off it. It's a watch FFS!!:rolleyes:
