Today marks the start of when our initial orders should start being charged. You'd expect tonight that iPhones around the world will start lighting up with Apple Pay notification screens alerting us of $1099 charges from Apple Store and shipment notifications tomorrow. The 12:01-12:03 would be in the first wave with 12:04-12:10 by end of week.

While my delivery window technically states that Apple has until the 27th to fulfill their promise to me, I'm going to be very sad and disappointed if this entire week passes and my credit card isn't charged.

Everyone I know that pre-ordered a watch now has theirs and I ordered at x:03 on launch day. There's a guy in my office that ordered his sport when he woke up to eat breakfast and got his before me and keeps reminding me how "I paid 4X more than him and didn't get as much sleep that night" What an ass. Apple send me a watch so this guy can stop making fun of me for waiting.

OK, got a very interesting phone call with the support - sorry for my bad english.

"Mimi" told me, that I've got a special watch ordered here and gave me her congrats (yeah!) ;(
Furthermore she explained that they CAN'T keep the 12/05 for shipment, BUT generally the time window is kept and i definately will recveive the watch in this time frame.
The've got the same status as we do - but the callcenter got another (additional) one, which says: "Is getting prepared for customer" - which originally/translated means "begin of production".
Due to the fact, that the DLC is a very complicated process in connection with the even so complicated link bracelet, every order will start the individual fabrication process, when the customer hits the system. So the timeframe was calculated by the system, because every DLC watch will be fabricated on customers request and takes 4-6 weeks to deliver.

I don't know what to believe and i doesn't really feel better know...but i want to share this information with you. Sorry again for the bad english.

Is that really all that interesting? "Should arrive during window" is what she told you.

I have to admit I was expecting my watch tomorrow. Whilst I realise there was a delivery window the fact that no one seems to be getting the black steel at the beginning of their window coupled with zero correspondence from Apple is really disappointing.

I think if I heard that someone, somewhere was getting one at the beginning of the window I would be less annoyed by the whole thing

If none has seen CC charged today, no deliveries by wednesday will happened. Sadly but true. Freaking 1 month since I ordered that thing at 3:02 am.

I doubt every Space Black watch will be special order only...unless they just plan on never selling them in stores. Once watches are in stores that would basically be like, "Oh, you like the Black link watch? Well you're only 4-6 weeks away from having one, even though it's September and the rush is over."

I think all US orders started with the 13th being the first day of the window, I know that's the first day of my delivery window. In which case I wouldn't expect to see any movement until late tonight or early tomorrow morning if they were going to fulfill the order on the first day of the window. We'll see what happens but we're not to where many would start seeing movement yet. My mother got her watch on the 24th and didn't see a pending CC charge until the night of the 22nd and no notification from Apple until noon the 23rd. Again, time will tell.

Really does sound like build to order. Interesting.

I can understand BTO when a product's margins are wafer thin. Or it's something like an exotic sports car where each car is individually built to a customer's spec.

But for a mass-produced item with healthy margins? Not very customer friendly: The more you pay the longer you wait. That's a hard sell. 😕

Right, because it's not like the bands are a pre-req for the assembly of our watches or anything.

Logistics have been explained time and again...it makes sense that the bands ship before the watches when we're waiting on the production line for ours (as we're one of the less popular models).

PFS is just around the corner for most...

If we are waiting for one of the less popular models then why haven't we revived them?

Because they're making the more popular models first. (the sports and the SS with sport bands).

They have a finite number of production lines. Us, the regular LB's and the LL's are all pretty much scheduled to arrive on the 12/13th.

It's funny how the wait transforms any grown man in a little child!
One week ago I was : no problem I can wait...
Today: come on come on!!!!! Move Move!!!!

;-)

As long as every order is delayed it's alright. When some people get the watches while others have to wait......then it gets ugly. 🙄

For those of us in the USA, it is Monday morning the 11th. It is very possible that we could be seeing some charges today and PFS updates.

However, (and I can't believe I'm saying this now) as long as I get my watch within the initial delivery window I will be ok. I will be pretty disappointed however if no one on this thread gets any movement.

As far as the Built to Order comments, we kind of already assumed they did that since they didn't have anything ready for the initial launch. I have enough faith in Apple to think they have at least made ONE by now. If they haven't..none of us are getting jack ****.

This feels like a flight that keeps on getting delayed and delayed until it is inevitably canceled.

So much activity today between this thread, and the standard SS Link bracelet thread. Everyone waiting for some sort of change with their order. It's gonna be a long long day if nothing changes. 🙁

It's going to be a long long day then.

Sorry everyone, this whole release has turned me into the mopiest, most pessimistic person ever..

Not necessarily. Orders could feasibly be charged, and shipped tomorrow for arrival on Wednesday. Happens all the time.

Given the complete lack of movement for any of these yet, I strongly doubt Wednesday/Day 1 window delivery for anyone. Friday or something, possibly.

This may have already been said but the thought just occurred to me..if it is already the 12th in some countries and only the morning of the 11th here in the USA, wouldn't it have made more sense to give those who were given May 12th - May 26th a +1 day not a -1 from the 13th-27th?

Eg May 14th-May 28th?

If those countries reach days faster, why give them an even earlier date? I'm saying this because some users are upset that it's now officially the 12th and they didn't get a notification, where as here in the U.S. we have 2 full days left before initial window.
