Agree. I guess the storyline will be all over before December, but I'd rather watch it fresh.

Then there are those trailers that reveal the entire movie, "They're up, they're down, facing great odds, they fight back! Will they prevail?? Of course they will otherwise the audience will be pissed!" Lol. Unless, it's episode 5, but we knew the story was not over. :D

So far the SWs trailers have been most excellent, raising anticipation, without revealing too much.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but JJ Abrams couldn't direct his way out of a paper bag, so I'm keeping my expectations extra low.

Quite frankly, Lucas did a pretty shabby job on A New Hope, at least in terms of the dialog and stuff. He had Alec Guinness, who needed little direction, Peter Cushing did OK, Anthony Daniels had his schtick down pretty good, and then there were some other people. The big draw in the first movie was the SFX, nobody had seen anything like it. The movie itself, art it was not.

I agree that SW I was weak, but I loved II & III.

I'll politely disagree. It is art, but might not be your preferred kind of art. ;) It was not the most polished but it was swashbuckling, weaving all of the elements of story, powerful visuals, setting, ecosystem, basis of conflict, compelling characters, incredible sound track, with B movie quality action, and humor which worked, along with the under dogs fighting against supreme evil and threat and a little magic, the Force. It is wonderful! :D

I hope Disney doesn't milk the franchise dry...

I can't even think of who would make a good, young Han Solo. I think it needs more of a classic cool persona.

I hope the rumors of Donnie Yen joining a Star Wars film are true (he posted an image on his official FB which hints that this might be a possibility.)

As far as whatever Disney does with Star Wars, I'll see what I want and skip what I do not want to see. Just like everything else. I am skipping the young Han Solo film, do not see the need for it.

They can never take away my love of the first film so IDC as long as the characters and stories put me back into that universe.

Def going to camp out. Plus, aren't the writers the ones who wrote empire and return of the Jedi? As long as the writers are good, I trust Abrams not to screw things up. Judging by the trailer, it looks good so far...

A young Hans Solo film? I did not know. I'd say that will stand on its own merits, somewhere between fantastic and ho-hum. We'll have to see. :)

Yup, I will be seeing this at a midnight showing and probably again on Sunday! LOL.... I am extremely excited to see this.

This cartoon pretty much sums it up for me:

It isn't letting me upload the files,,,,,,So the above is a link.

How true! But I was already an adult when Episode IV turned me into a kid, seeing it 5 times in the theater. :D One thing Mark Hammil (?) said in that trailer about making a movie like this and keeping one foot in the predigital world is a must IMO. The exception seems to be Avatar that got away with filming the entire movie in a warehouse, a testiment to James Cameron.

Update: Mis-stated Episode III when it should have been IV.

I really like the fact they are actually making real world things and not shooting everything against a green screen. Thanks for posting the picture, I was getting an error every time I tried to post it.

Excited? OMG This 2015 ComicCon TEASER.

I've been interested, but not exactly biting at the bit over the new Star Wars sequels. Something I'd watch in the theaters, but wouldn't line up for on Day 1.

This video changed my mind. The simple fact they're doing some things oldschool rather than making a green screen cartoon makes it look and feel more like the original, good old Star Wars.

My thoughts exactly and one reason I am really excited to see this!!!
