really bummed out about the lack of TF2, but as i've been reading most of the gossip threads i already expected a certain level of disappointment. can't complain about a 1.5MB/s download on portal though:D

Signed in with normal account but still getting the home page refresh. Anyone else having the same problem?

I'm still getting the beta page that says:

Once the Mac beta ends, we’ll have the store up and running with a collection of your favorite Mac games and a continually growing catalog.

Am I right that even if Steam is launched today there will be only Portal and Torchlight available? I have only Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 bought through Steam and does it it mean that i'll have to wait for XXX time period until they will also be out?

I can't say about L4D, but there are other games, I've installed a LucasArts game or two and can see some of my other games are available.

Seems like that, but it's all progress. :) No idea how soon things will happen but they have said they'll release more every week.

Just because somebody posted a link on the Steam Forums Mac OS X discussion thread, does not make this the official release.

Here is the specific thread that all of your information is coming from, if you wish to read more.

Hmm...odd...since I downloaded the client linked in this thread, installed it, logged in, and am currently downloading Torchlight. Unless I was accepted into the beta a few months ago and just never knew it...

Link works for me. It updated too, and I have access to my library, account, etc.

I remember applying for the beta but never bothered checking. Downloading torchlight right now but no signs of TF2.

It will auto-update to become the same as the official release if it isn't already… (i suspect it is now and all that needs to change is their Mac front page) I dont see why its relevant if it's not the absolute final release..

Either way it is a bit pointless until it launches and some more games run. (later today) But it's still exciting..

Can all add your non-steam games at least. :D

i just logged in w/ my regular acc

yey!

downloading portal...
is there any other games available other then portal?

*sigh* Portal's roughly a 5gb download. Looks like I'll have to let it download overnight. Will have to make do with Torchlight and World of Goo in the meantime.

The size-number of Source-games always include the engine too, which is shared with HL2, TF2 etc., so you have to subtract 2-3gb from that number to get the size of the actual game-specific content.
