My download finished but sadly it says the game is unavailable at this time. Was hoping to play it at lunch, we'll see 
Steam is not yet released for the mac and if you check finder you will see that the games being downloaded are the PC versions.
Probably best to wait until this is officially released before checking log files and downloading games.
But what the hell do I know.

Why is it a pain? Its not like you NEED it right away....

Yep, they're in a folder called 'Steam Content' in the Documents folder.
I wonder how other local users with Steam accounts will be treated. What happens when someone else logs in and wants to play a Steam game that's already installed but with the executables in another user's ~/Documents?/Users/********/Documents/Steam Content/Common

I can confirm that portal works for me, Steam is now active
team fortress 2 just vanished from my library ... was there before the updatei got it from orange box btw
