Dear Steve,

Thank you for my iMac. Thank you for my iPhone. Thank you for my iPad. Thank you for Lion. Thank you for iOS. Thank you for iCloud. Thank you for iTunes. Thank you for the App Store.

Thank you for creating all these wonderful things, and enriching the lives of millions of people the world over - including me.

You were a visionary, a mentor, a perfectionist, and a good man. I am so very, very sad that you have been taken away from us so soon.

Rest in peace my friend.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

David Hopkins

Rest in peace Steve, you shall be missed by millions.

Who's joining me in watching Pirates of Silicon Vally tonight then? :(

I was thinking of the documentary "Welcome To Macintosh"; "Pirates…" would be a good choice too.

I posted some thoughts earlier, but I'd like to add the following:

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clark

Thank you Steve for envisioning the magic.

God Bless

God bless Steve and his family.

Thank you for all the years of productivity, joy, entertainment and angst that your products have brought me.

You'll probably inspire those in heaven, also.

God bless!

Goodbye

Today's the day I lost my hero :((((( I love you Steve , and I always will. RIP :(

( the worst reason to register and write the first post!!:( )

I hope Obama declares a day of national mourning on the day of his burial or at the very least there be a global 2 mins silence in his honour

Thank you Steve!

Thank you Steve, for being with us on our planet, although for far too short time :-(

When I was 11, I read about the first Macintosh in a Polish computer magazine. I could only dream about it - at that time, for the price of one Mac you could buy two apartments in Warsaw (yes, I'm serious).

There was a Space Shuttle simulator on the first Mac and I was looking at the screenshots in that magazine - for hours.

Only 20 years later bought my first Mac - a 12" Powerbook. And I will never sell it! :) A few more iPods, iPhones, Macbooks and iPads appeared in my family since then...

Thank you for inspiring all of us. We will try to keep progressing the way you showed us!

"We don't get a chance to do that many things, and everyone should be really excellent. Because this is our life."

Rest in Peace Steve, you truly changed the way people thought about technology. The world is a little less bright without you here :apple:

Regarding the quote, I've read a lot this morning, and I feel this stands out. He was excellent, The company he created and saved is excellent and its a tribute that just about everyone Steve came in contact with is singing his praises, even his most fierce rivals. Thats a mark of a true man, he competes against the best and can still shake their hand afterwards.

RIP!

Growing up whilst reading my dad's MacWorld and MacFormat magazines helped define who I am today. Being super excited as a kid over the release of a new Apple product was something I loved and remember fondly. I'll never forget when I used the original iMac for the first time. It was the beginning of change.

Steve's charisma and passion for computers was what drew me to this site in the first place. I'll really miss the guy; he made it fun to be a geek.
