The world lost a great mind today, and in his words cleared the way for a new one. Hope there was nothing left on the calendar, thank you for the elegant tools I use in everyday life.

Thanks Steve, for positively changing the way we live!
You not only made one but many dents in the Universe!
What a Legacy you gave us!
Rest In Peace.

Wow... Just wow, about 2 months ago he resigns and now this. RIP Steve you were truly a visionary. I just hope that the technology companies of the world that rival Apple will be able to honor his memory as well, as the smartphone, PC, and tablet markets would be nothing like they are today without Steve's vision. May his guidance lead the path of the future...

Thank you for all the memories Steve and for touching so many lives including my own. The world has benefited greatly from your vision. Rest in Peace....

So it appears that even Steve Jobs couldn't deal with the disappointment of the iPhone 4S reveal.

He was a great man, and a greater business man, and an even greater marketing man. That so many people have reacted to emotionally to his death is a sign of how well he was able to woo people through his charisma and marketing sense, together with his design genius.

I'm somewhat concerned with the almost messianic comments from some people in this topic, but it's likely due to how Jobs has just died. I only hope he has found rest peacefully; pancreatic cancer can be extremely painful and debilitating.

We love you Steve. We admired your dedication to your company and your passion for what you did. We will always remember you. :apple:

Just thank you, Mr. Jobs.

You have enriched countless lives, and have made mine and that of many others much better by your efforts. The world was made better by your presence.

Go well, and go in peace.

Steve Jobs was a one-of-a-kind innovator and visionary. His contributions to the way we work, communicate, experience entertainment and run businesses are immeasurable.

So sad! Such a visionary! RIP Steve! You will be missed!
I can't wait for his book to come out. It's aleady preordered.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates — long regarded as Steve Jobs’ foil in the early years of personal computing — has issued a statement in the wake of Jobs’ death earlier today.

I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work.

Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.

For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.
