Don't know what to say, this a very sad day for me.. I honestly don't believe there will ever be someone that can replace Steve Jobs.. And I think he did have an impact on my life..

To me it feels hard to believe that he has passed, I always thought he'd be around for long while..

Anyway R.I.P. Steve Jobs

R.I.P. Steven P. Jobs

R.I.P. Steven P. Jobs,

Thanks for the opportunities at NeXT and Apple. You'll always be a Hero to me and your passions I carry in my own views on life. In all my life there has and never will be a more honest, open and professional colleague driven to see others exceed their own aims and aspirations. The World now has a seat open for the next Visionary to continue propelling the world of Human-Computer interaction forward.

Your vision lives vividly throughout the Corporation and the Developer Community, to the ever growing users of your collective Vision.

My condolences to the family for their loss.

Sincerely,

Marc J. Driftmeyer
NeXT and Apple Alumni

Nice job MacRumors on the front page...reading through the quotes of other visionary thought leaders makes for a nice tribute to SJ.

Sorry to hear about Steve Jobs passing.

I am sure that he had a dignified death full of valor. He must have known for some time now, and yet, he worked until the last time he physically could.

I had a feature phone that I needed to change for some time, when I heard the rumor about the iPhone. Held for some more time until the time when the iPhone was announced, then some more until I could get the iPhone.

When I had the iPhone in my hands, I thought... 'thank you Steve and Apple for giving me the opportunity to own something that I want to have...'

When I bought the first iPad, I thought... 'thank you Steve and Apple for giving me the opportunity to own something that I want to have...' The iPad was very close to the device that I have desired for many years.

Now with the iPhone 4S, I think... 'thank you Steve and Apple for giving me the opportunity to own something that I want to have...' The iPhone 4S is very close to the device that I want to have.

All in all, only Steve and Apple could possibly create something that we want to own and have in our hands.

Thank you Steve. My life is that much better because of your life. Thanks again.

Not totally unexpected but still a Sad Day.

May peace and comfort surround you and your loved ones.

Steve, you were and inspiration to me and to so many others. Words cannot describe the loss of such a visionary and how you changed the world around us in such a profound way. My condolences to your family, friends, and everybody you influenced throughout your life.

Probably the only CEO (recently resigned of course) that could bring about such an emotional blow to so many people. No matter when he died it would have been too soon.

God! some of the quoted comments here are just rude and insensitive, thanks MR moderators for cleaning this thread up! Pathetic, really!

Love him or hate him, the guy was a visionary, and in his short 56 years has contributed more than all his jealous haters will ever do in their sad long lives.

There are few people that have lived as passionately and creatively as him. His job was his life and he wrapped himself in Apple with the kind of passion that most people never get to live in their free time.

I will miss him.

Heartbroken. :(
RIP Steve.
I'll likely never see another with such vision, showmanship, and ability to lead again in my lifetime. You changed my life. :apple:

You ROCK!

As horrible it is to hear that you passed away all too soon, I (along with most here) feel pretty lucky to see some of the greatest techno/marketing/business moves by any company in the modern era.

There hasn't been anyone that rocked their industry more than you did plus you wound up helping change the course of popular culture plus rescue the music industry from piracy and oblivion.

R.I.P. Steve

On a purely selfish note, I really wonder what new next best things he was cooking up...I'm guessing he passed on those nuggets to his "peeps" at Apple...

Stay Tuned! ;)

R.I.P. Mr. Jobs

R.I.P. Steve

The world is a much less creative place now.

My prayers go out to your family.:apple:

Rest In Peace

It is truly a sad day in the tech industry. Although I never knew him personally, his greatness shows in the company he built and the products he envisioned. Best regards to those closest to him, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I sent an e-mail, i posed my condolences here as well. Now i want to say something funny but people will be mad and I'm not sure if i even have the heart to do it. There is no one as big as an apple fan as me but here it goes:

Its a conspiracy

pics or it didn't happen

Im sorry if this offended anyone, i offended myself to be honest :(:(:(:apple:

We will all miss Steve's genius and unique thought process... it is time to remember and reflect on the impact he has had on our daily lives. He will truly be missed, my condolences to the Jobs family and the Apple "family" he created.
