lol, i'm loving my iphone 6. ios 8 features are going in the right direction for me. the iphone 4 and 5 are my favorite designs but the 6 feels and flows much better in my hands. i can see why they picked this design with the rounded glass on the edges.

My wife an iPhone snob hates her new 6 for the size factor alone. Too big for her, so it's going back and she's keeping her 5.

Thank goodness I did not sell hers yet, almost did.

To each there open, but OP is not alone.

Seriously!? You have to give a phone more than two days.

Why do you think people in these forums immediately dismiss anyone who has an even slightly negative review?

I don't care if he is negative. I don't think the phone is perfect. It is just getting old seeing the same crap over and over these past couple of days. No one made people buy the big phone, and Apple did something they thought was best. Samsung is not the only phone company that has grown bigger and had success doing it. I just don't get why we needed another thread started when we have 100 more that could have been added too.

He is allowed to share his thoughts on this forum and it is ok to be critical. I agree with some of the design comments you have made like the antenna lines but I do like how the iPhone 6+ feels. I do think iOS 8 should have had a bit more features but hey, I'm an Apple fan and I love how reliable their products are. It really all comes down to preferences. :)

This is exactly why the 5S is still available? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the 80+ million they expect to sell this year won't enjoy them. To be honest had Apple not went bigger I would have unfortunately had to move on, tired of the same ole same ole.

I think it would have been cool if Apple made 3 sku's for the iPhone 6:
4"
4.7"
5.5"

Everyone is happy. And they can get the size they want. There is a market out there for compact phones.

I'm absolutely hating the iPhone 6 I got yesterday for reasons which I'll outline below.

1. The phone is too big and awkward to use one handed.
Apple instead should have stuck with one size that was the same as the 5S or only very slightly larger and then also offered a large phone for the Android phablet fans, instead Apple offered us two phones, neither of which are practical to use one handed.

The 6 can be used one-handed, provided you don't have abnormally small hands or very short fingers. For most people the size will still allow for one-handed operation.

2. The design looks and feels like a Samsung phone using Apple materials.
The 5 and 5S are gorgeous devices that looked like nothing else at the time. The device even today looks like a work of art. These new designs are super generic and are nearly indistinguishable from many Samsung and Android phones.

Have you even held a Samsung lately? These iPhones look and feel NOTHING like Samsung's plastic "flagship" models.

3. The ugly antenna bands on the back are a huge step down from the 5/5S.
Was the same intern that designed the iOS7 icons responsible for the back of these devices?

Which has no negative impact on the operation of the phone at all, and actually allows the antennas to pick up more of a signal, thereby improving performance on both WiFi and cellular networks.

4. The phones feel like slippery, rounded plastic devices in the hand.
These phones have no grip to them whatsoever and will be dropped more often than the 5 and 5S I'm sure.

How exactly does aluminum feel like plastic? Most people will have cases on their iPhone 6/6+ just like they did on their prior phones, so that's really not even a valid point.

This phone really feels like a product of a company that feels very threatened by Samsung and is being reactionary instead of revolutionary. Nothing about the 6 or 6 plus feels or looks new or different. The iPhone now looks like a generic Android phone and has completely thrown out most of what Steve worked so hard to establish with his company and devices. I'm a long time Apple fanatic and am extremely disappointed in this device, so much so that I'm considering returning it and going back to 5S until the next iPhone design or switching to Android. Even iOS 8 feels like a total reactionary response to Android. We now have Swype and other third party keyboards that consume resources, drain battery life and can crash etc.

Not all is terrible, I do like the ability to reply to a Message without leaving the app I'm in. That's the best feature so far of the new phones and iOS8, I'm sure Apple Pay will be another killer feature for the new phones but design wise this is a new Apple and it's a Apple that I don't like. This is a sad day indeed for fellow Jobsians. This is NOT a design Steve would have green lighted.

:( :apple: :(

You left out other advantages such as improved speed over WiFi/LTE networks, improved battery life, improved camera functionality, responsiveness, Continuity/Handoff, HealthKit, etc. If anything, the new iPhone exceeds even Steve's wildest expectations.

My fingers ache after an hour with 6. I may just keep my 5s.

I do notice that my thumb is a bit sore, but I am going to give it some more time. If it keeps up then I'll return and go back to my 5S, but I think I'll adjust in time. I think I need to get used to using two hands more often, too. (And this is just with the 6!)

this part I agree with. Lots of us liked the size of the iphone 5. Offering one substantially larger option makes sense, but I've already talked to several people who want a new iphone but feel the new sizes are a negative trade-off. Shoulda been a 4.3" in the same enclosure as the 5s (smaller bezels) and the 6+.

3. The ugly antenna bands on the back are a huge step down from the 5/5S.
Was the same intern that designed the iOS7 icons responsible for the back of these devices?

I think this is the only thing you are right about. I don't like them at all but I do think they look a tiny bit better in person then in the photos.

Maybe you need time to love your iphone 6.

What I can say is that people love the iphone 6 and 6 +, it is going to be the best selling mobile phone ever.

* The best is to always keep your old iphone that way you can use it when you are mad with your iphone 6.

* Relax and enjoy your new iphone 6

Yeah steve jobs wouldnt have approved of having better coverage of the different bands and he wouldnt have approved of having curved easy to hold edges rather than rough around the edges scratch magnet iPhone 5 and 5s.

You dont know what steve wouldve approved. Steve was a huge hinderance to Apple in many ways. Instead of innovating faster and working with people and partners he was combative and hostile to constructive criticism. He blocked Apple from doing things they shouldve done awhile ago.

The thing is Steve wasn't wrong, but he also wasn't right. When he made his statements and created his phone people were using phones and consuming content much differently then we do now.

With the majority of communication being non phone call, people want to have a phone that does things not related to calling someone on a phone. The phone aspect is like the 5th thing on the list of things we want it to do correctly.

We are more concerned with watching TV shows and movies, emailing, texting, checking social media and browsing the web then we are actually using a phone, as a phone..... that is why a slightly bigger device is more ideal.
