I don't really know what people are complaining about. The 6+ and 6 are gorgeous, contemporary phones. 4 inch screens don't work anymore. They just don't.

If Steve were still here, there is no question he would have succumbed to a larger phone as well. There is no debating this. They went from 3.5 to 4 with him, and they would likely have gone to 4.7 because Apple exists to give customers what they want and people want bigger phones.

The best product Apple ever produced was iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.2 (then Jailbroken). iOS 6 is still the fastest smoothest iOS.

I went from a Note 2 to an iPhone. Bigger screens are unnecessary with tablets.

I agree with OP about few points but i think 4.7 inch is perfect size. 4 inch is just too small these days

----------

Literally no one cares. Buy a 5s and ***** off. I'll sit here and enjoy my beautiful iPhone 6 Plus.

Whats the hell is wrong with you man...the guy's just stating his opinions and he brought up some interesting points and this is a forum where we discuss these issues, thats what forums are for....

I'm absolutely hating the iPhone 6

hate (noun)

a : intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury

If you really feel this way, you might consider taking some deep breaths.

It sounds like you much prefer the iPhone 5S. It seems like it lags less than the 6 in some instances. They still offer it for a reason, I suggest you continue to use it! Your points are not baseless, however.

The thing is Steve wasn't wrong, but he also wasn't right. When he made his statements and created his phone people were using phones and consuming content much differently then we do now.

With the majority of communication being non phone call, people want to have a phone that does things not related to calling someone on a phone. The phone aspect is like the 5th thing on the list of things we want it to do correctly.

We are more concerned with watching TV shows and movies, emailing, texting, checking social media and browsing the web then we are actually using a phone, as a phone..... that is why a slightly bigger device is more ideal.

Yep. These old geezers and designer wannabes dont get it.

what was steve supposed to say, no wait people might like the big screen but we can't make it yet because we have too many iterations for small bumps to make maximum profit so when we don't have any idea how to go bigger, we will just make the screen bigger everytime.

It happened from 3.5 to 4. and now it happened from 4 to 4.7 and 5.5

the 5.5 Demand shows what people want. They wanted a bigger phone and there is an audience for it.

The OPs post reads like that of a self centered person. These people dont think about what the markets are doing and what people are buying. They only think about their outdated tastes. It always was better in previous times to these people. They lament the fact that the world keeps turning.

Damn people here can't post an opinion without being trashed or trolled.

I agree with OP.

I think the iPhone 6 should have been 4.5 screen. Even though I can use it with one hand, it's still a stretch to reach the top and not as easy.

The antenna bands are ugly.

The phone is slippery for me. I always feel like in going to drop it.

I do really like the screen though. It's only been 2 days, so maybe in a week my opinions will change (except the antenna).

I also wish Apple would have stuck with the all black color like the iPhone 5, that looked the best.

While I don't agree with the OP on most of his points, he's entitled to his own opinion. What's more annoying are the people responding who are pissed off that you can't differentiate the phone from an Android phone. It's that Apple Elitism that no longer makes being an Apple fan fun anymore. Everyone is so obsessed with having to be different it ends up making them look ridiculous.

Oh and btw, Apple wasn't the first to make beautiful phones with aluminum, steel and glass. Most of you are probably too young to remember a company called Nokia who made the Arte and Luna.

I thought the same. I'm contemplating on a Gold or Silver 5S 32GB for $599 unlocked at Apple.

I have two unlocked 5S's with AppleCare+ for another year. They're both Gold 64GB and in immaculate condition. All original accessories, boxes, etc.. Even has the original AT&T SIM still unactivated that will be in the phone.

I'd like to get $700. Which, is actually a decent price for them. Never had to use the AppleCare+, so both incidents are available for your use.

They also include a Seidio Surface case (black or burgundy, as of right now) with a Seidio Surface belt-holster.

The phones don't have a single scratch, dent, nick, etc.. Glass is perfect. I even shrink-wrap the boxes so you get the joy of opening the shrink-wrap ;)

Even with Steve Jobs, Apple will still make a bigger iPhone sooner or later. Apple wouldn't miss the chance to make more money with the high demand for big phones. Reachability will be his solution to bigger phones and with him around, I am sure people will stop complaining about bigger screen and call it revolutionary.
Just my opinion.

I remember people said 'Apps will destroy iPhones because Steve does not like Apps on the iPhone' when the iPhone first came out...Then the App store happened...and its perhaps the only SOFTWARE advantage Apple has over Windows Mobile and Android

So I'm sitting here with a 6+ thinking it's the best iPhone that there ever was. I've been an original iPhone owner since day one. Eventually got the 3G, then 4S, then 5, now 6+... all opinions are subjective, including yours OP. Peace & Love :D

I'm absolutely hating the iPhone 6 I got yesterday for reasons which I'll outline below.

1. The phone is too big and awkward to use one handed.
Apple instead should have stuck with one size that was the same as the 5S or only very slightly larger and then also offered a large phone for the Android phablet fans, instead Apple offered us two phones, neither of which are practical to use one handed.

2. The design looks and feels like a Samsung phone using Apple materials.
The 5 and 5S are gorgeous devices that looked like nothing else at the time. The device even today looks like a work of art. These new designs are super generic and are nearly indistinguishable from many Samsung and Android phones.

3. The ugly antenna bands on the back are a huge step down from the 5/5S.
Was the same intern that designed the iOS7 icons responsible for the back of these devices?

4. The phones feel like slippery, rounded plastic devices in the hand.
These phones have no grip to them whatsoever and will be dropped more often than the 5 and 5S I'm sure.

This phone really feels like a product of a company that feels very threatened by Samsung and is being reactionary instead of revolutionary. Nothing about the 6 or 6 plus feels or looks new or different. The iPhone now looks like a generic Android phone and has completely thrown out most of what Steve worked so hard to establish with his company and devices. I'm a long time Apple fanatic and am extremely disappointed in this device, so much so that I'm considering returning it and going back to 5S until the next iPhone design or switching to Android. Even iOS 8 feels like a total reactionary response to Android. We now have Swype and other third party keyboards that consume resources, drain battery life and can crash etc.

Not all is terrible, I do like the ability to reply to a Message without leaving the app I'm in. That's the best feature so far of the new phones and iOS8, I'm sure Apple Pay will be another killer feature for the new phones but design wise this is a new Apple and it's a Apple that I don't like. This is a sad day indeed for fellow Jobsians. This is NOT a design Steve would have green lighted.

:( :apple: :(

Couldn't agree more. I start d a similar thread and the shameless mod locked it up in wasteland.

Freedom of choice is a good thing. If you don't like the 6/6+ then the 5s is still plenty fast enough.

I found 4.7" easy enough to handle one handed when I had a Galaxy S3.

As a wise man once said… nope.

Steve jobs also became a vegan because he thought it meant he wouldn't have to bathe. And he thought herbal remedies would cure his disease vs medical care, which would've saved his life.

Exactly. Steve was deluded and way out of touch with reality. Good business man, that's about it. He was completely wrong.

Since everybody is chiming in, I'll go ahead and say I mostly agree with the OP. When Apple is doing its own thing it produces amazing products. When is it playing catchup/copycat, it produces iPhone 6/6+.

You nailed it!!!!!!!

I am rather disappointed with the aesthetics of my iPhone 6 and posted a similar, albeit shorter, opinion in another thread. The distinctive look of my 4s is gone, as is the ability to go without a case. I abhor cases, but felt that I really needed one with this phone, as I find it very slippery for handling bare.

Oh well, here's hoping iPhone 7 will be the revolutionary phone that I think Apple can still make.
