meh,

It would have been cool if he paid the Iphones for everybody there? he is a billionaire right?

I doubt he's a billionaire.
He didn't pick up Pixar from Lucas at a garage sale price and sell it to Disney, or get mega millions for NeXT when Apple bought it. He likes to have fun with his money too (ala the US festival) and fund new businesses, none of which are rich and famous, at least yet.

Hey, but he earned it.

If Wozniak wanted to experience the same 'thrill' as all the little people queuing up to buy, then he should have joined the queue. Pointless gesture if you play the 'do you know who I am' card to push in front.

So he queues up and all the people in front don't get to meet him. He's having fun with it, lighten the ef up.
I would pay to see Woz. Because you wouldn't doesn't make you better, just snarkier.

Fun!

Boy, some of you guys are really uptight! This is a guy who, after all of these years, still loves tech. Also, even though he's had a lot of success, he hasn't changed his demeanor.

Lighten up and enjoy this thread!

how lucky you are

READ how apple treat his client: I have been ordering the Iphone 3GS and receive a message saying it will be delivered on the 24th, so I called Apple customer support, they have been very nice, cancelled my order and told me to reorder it online to pickit up at any apple store. than apple called me to have the confirmation that I will go and pickit up, than I receive a reminder email.

went at NorthStar mall apple store in San Antonio, TX at 07:00 AM this morning, hundreds of people were allready in line waiting, so I left.
i cam back at noon, and was the second in line.

arriving in the store, they told me they cannot do anything as I am a business ATT customer!!!
being a mac addict since 1987, I could not belive the apple "manager" could act the way he has been, he really did not care of anything.
and of course there is no way to complain by email on apple website

what a great experience, NEVER AGAIN

Att

then I went to the nearest ATT store, and there...what a great welcome, you want the 32G in black, did you reserve it
No, OK not a problem we have it in stock, do you want it now
may be some apple store manager should go to ATT to learn how to treat clients

Reply to O.P

Congrats! I have a feeling that the iPhone 3GS box alone with Woz signature is worth more than the goodies inside the box. I'd love to have a picture taken with Woz - so jealous right now.

well, that's nice. but that's not cool to cut the line even he is famous. so it seems if anybody would be famous, then he or she just can cut the line like that, huh? I say, NO. get the ****ing line. for somebody, it is the deal. well, if he can do, I can do as well.

Congrats!

I want Woz to come to West Lafayette, IN (that probably won't happen). Anyway, you have the autograph of the greatest engineer in the world - a man who defined personal computing. Here's wishing I can find one of these on ebay for $20, put up by someone who only took the autograph because everyone else was doing so and knows nothing about the Woz (this also, won't happen).

Woz first, shop opens early.

The store opened an hr early. Having Woz at the front helped everybody.

If it was joe public would the manager have opened early?
I think not.

Being first in line may not have been his idea. It was probably the managers.
He may have said something like, if your first in line, then I can open earlier.

Photos look a very cool experience.

Seems a really nice guy. For you idiots saying stupid things. Get a life!!

I think it shows that Woz just like to enjoy life. Of course he probably had a pre-release at home but why miss the party?

Woz is Apple famous.

Check out Apple's history and you'll see why Woz was critical in Apple's early success.

In other words, what you were standing in line for today, would not have existed if Woz was not part of Apple in their early years.

He invented the personal computer.

You would not have a computer without the contributions of Woz.

Show some respect, ungrateful person.

"If he can do, you can do as well"? Go ahead. Invent the personal computer.
