After many weeks of sporting a black Skinny (I was probably one of the first ones to order one from Radtech) I am giving it up.

For me, my ipad 2 always felt more comfortable when I took it out of the Skinny so I will now go with a smartcover/TPU backcase combo solution.

I myself have the lime green smart cover (paid $30 ebay) with either black or lime TPU ($7.00 on ebay). My first case was a Macally which is very simular to the STM. Kept my pad in good condition till I found a good enough discount on a smart cover.

Likewise here. I got my black skinny in the first 4/12 shipment from Radtech and I have been very happy with it. My only complaints are the occasional sleep problem when folded back and the tab, which is still a mini-struggle to dig out of the loop every time I open it. I ordered a Speck Smart Shell for the back (mainly because of the metal strip to hold the smart cover back) and will be getting an (overpriced) smart cover (color?). The jury is still out on the smart shell but I'll see tomorrow when I get it.

Like pagansoul I recommend getting a smartcover off ebay.

I got an orange smartcover for $24 and a TPU backcase for $10.

The TPU case is great but still waiting for the smartcover.

update on my sleep issue when the Skinny is reversed.

I got an "STM Service Kit for SKinny" from RadTech which is basically a patch that is applied on the inside of the bottom part and fixes the sleep issue when the cover is reversed.

Did you contact Radtech customer service for that?

Just got my berry one and I love it. Grabbed it from Amazon for like 31 bucks.

I just got my berry also. I have no sleep problems unless I really try to force the issue. I played around with it when I first got it and I def can make it sleep when folded back. For my normal use of it tho, it hasn't happened and prolly won't.

I love this case tho, so slim n light !!

Edit* quick tip for making it sleep..

Fold it back all the way with the tab pointed out and pull on the tab (just a light tug).

Anyone else find this case uncomfortable to hold when your hands touch the black retainers? I find I have to shift my hands a lot when using this case compared to the smart cover or other folio style cases.

I'll take this case over the smart cover any day. I really tried to like the smart cover, but it is really no more than an on off switch for the iPad. It offers no protection, comes off way too easily and leaves those vertical dust lines on the screen. I really think the Skinny is the perfect case. It's light, thin, protective and functional. If only it came in leather.

I'm very aggravated at this case.

Aggravated that I didn't buy it a month ago! Ive tried the smart cover, Pixelskin, Yoobao, various sleeves, and a Treegloo and I thought I would never find a case I like. The STM is awesome. Good price, light, thin, secured cover, sleep wake feature, good alignment. Just awesome. The only way I can get the iPad to sleep with the cover folded back is to pull the tab as indicated above. I have not got the case to do it in normal operation.

If you do ever have the sleep issue, there's a retrofit patch that you can request from Radtech that will fix the problem. STM may have already addressed the problem in their manufacturing, but if not just contact Radtech. I got my case over a month ago and it's the bomb. I emailed Radtech and they replied within a day to say they'd send out the patch.

Also, STM is supposedly working on a leather version which would be sweet.

Got the repair patch in the mail today and I will say it is very easy to apply and works as advertised. Everything works as it should now. Really like this case.

Do you think eBags would send the repair patch or should I contact STM directly? Mine goes to sleep EVERY SINGLE TIME I flip the lid back. Drives me NUTS! I otherwise absolutely love this case!
