No, they aren't. Leaks come from people who need to have that information to do their work, they don't need to take it first illegally.

But what does it say about those people who are then sharing that information outside of work?

Do you feel “OK“ reading reports on that stuff?

Lol, you are on an Apple rumors website - what is the point?
The hypocrisy from some forum members boggles the mind. You read and joined MR that reports on unreleased information relating to Apple’s ecosystem yet have a problem with hacked documents for an upcoming device that has already been rumoured about.

Acting like MR conducted the hack and asking Apple for a ransom, get a life MR is reporting on information already public and did not post any sensitive information. If you don’t like it ignore the article or leave MR altogether because clearly you are confused.

Where do you believe these leakers and analysts get information from a crystal ball or speaking to insiders.

I see nothing but problems day in and day out with usb c on Mac and PC. Every. Day.
Yeah, but how does mag sage solve that? Mag Safe does nothing but charge your computer with no data transfer. You are literally adding a port to do what your other dual purpose USB-C port already does.

The task bar wasn’t hurting anyone. Don’t like it then don’t use it. Pretty simple. I never use my adaptive cruise control in my car. Don’t remove it for the people that use it. I just don’t use it or like it.

yes it was - many of us want to use real function keys, and a real ESC key.

also that thing adds cost, complexity, bugs, power draw

and it was terrible ergonomics

We don’t know that for sure.

Look at the magnetic connection on the new iMac that then allows ethernet down at the floor in a power brick.

That would be awesome to have with a laptop

... Remove Touch Bar

Finally! That is the only rumor I am interested in.
My biggest problems with TouchBar now that they brought Escape back, is that volume control requires more key presses and that the TouchBar adds like 250$ to the price. And I prefer physical keys anyway. Imo, they can put emoji selection on the normal display.

USB C is the best thing to happen to device charging in decades.

I absolutely DO NOT WANT to return to proprietary chargers and connectors. Apple, hope the Magsafe is optional and this will remain chargeable from a USB C port.

I think they will ask us to buy a MagSafe charger if we want to, separately. We can continue to charge using other USB-C adapters in the house like we do our phones. They probably won’t include the adapters in notebooks too. Just a wild guess.

The 'everybody else is doing it so, why shouldn't I' mantra doesn't fly, in my opinion.

Would you let your kid get away with that kind of excuse? I hope not.
It's a little bit different when it comes to a business. MacRumors is a website that posts about Apple rumors. It's literally in the name. People expect to find this information here and if they don't they will go elsewhere.

Discussion on data and legality aside, I’m happy the MacBook Pro is getting TB ports on both side but it’s a shame the MagSafe is only on one side of it.

Me too.

Like the butterfly keyboard I’m happy to have a really bad decision finally going fully in the past so we can move on.
Ives is out hence function is returning. The M1 iMac is a throwback to the original iMac with white bezels and coloured cases along with accessories. It is meant to be an entry level iMac, there maybe a pro version with black bezels and more ports.

I realize the purpose of the rumor site. In my opinion, MR should have skipped this article and if that made people look elsewhere for the story, so be it.

Both of what you stated are incorrect.

What would make me extra happy is TC eating "We think you're gonna love it" in large styrofoam letters, since pretty much all of the "innovations" of the 2016 MBP proved to be a gross failure, caused us tremendous loss of time and money, and are being rolled back one by one.

It's no "mea culpa" if we have to buy another god-expensive laptop because the redesign was DOA and Apple denied it for years. Just more money in their pockets so they can buy back their own stock.

Breaking an NDA is not a crime by itself.
It's not correct to understand it this way and make it "ok" to breach an NDA "just because it's not a law or crime".

NDAs are legally enforceable contracts that could get one sued for damages (like the former employee of Apple just weeks ago) by the opposite party.

I am right there with you.

I also use that is one of many examples to caution people who are just praising every aspect of these new iMacs.

This company makes all kinds of mistakes all the time and people just gloss over them and never seem to revisit history to see what actually ended up being good or bad and holding them accountable.

I agree with others. MacRumors should not disseminate stolen material, no matter the desire for clicks.
That’s literally what they do on a daily basis... I think if the info had been leaked to MR directly from the hackers they would have been morally obligated to not post, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. They’re just reposting infor reported by 9to5 mac

People act like macrumors works for apple or something. They're reporting on news in the wild, get over it. Either read or don't read the story. I don't get why people here so bent out of shape when anything like this is posted. You'd think the secret to how jesus resurrected was reported here.

Anyways, for the rest of us, glad to see this is staying in line with the rumors that we've been seeing. I'm currently using a 2013 rMBP and still use my hdmi and sd card ports. This would be a fantastic machine to replace my current one as those ports are the ones I rely on day to day.

Even more excited to see this touchbar killed off.
