Super Mario Galaxy

In the first 5 stars, the deal where you had to use the grab stars and use your momentum to get the star in the middle, genius. :D
 
This is killing me. I went to pick up my copy THREE times yesterday, at first it wasn't in yet. Second it was in, but still in the boxes, lastly at 21:00 last nite went back after ringing to check everything is ok, and when I get there I find they haven't inputeed into their computer system yet and the guy couldnt put it through the till. AGHHHHH

Have to wait till 12 noon now to get it :rolleyes:
 
^That sucks for you MRU...in other news I've colleced almost all the stars(such a beautiful game and the boss fights yummy)..yayy for me!

you could do worse: after all galaxy allows you to send a picture of your star collection to the wii message board from where you can send it to a friend

since i got the game a day early i rubbed it in to the friend who would have another whole day ;)
 
OMG those Daredevil comets are a pain :( I have already done the top one and the mole one but the giant rock creature dare devil is hell :(

EDIT: Sorry MRU...you keep buying all these games when you know you will only be playing one this winter.:p

It is..but the Battlerock and the Sky Garden place have catchier tunes.
 
Thumbs up to Battlerock too! That's just ever so slightly Star Wars. My sister was on Megaleg earlier, and the music played on the first planet just sounds oh-so much like a James Bond theme.
 
Anyone else get all the green stars? I just got my last one and the new levels is opened are so freaking hardcore its not even funny. I beat two of them though, yet to try the third. Lets just say that the rollball thing in FreezeFlame is nothing compared to this one.
 
okay I am gonna be unpopular but I am mixed on this game. I'm about half way through to "beat" it and while I feel compelled to keep playing I can't really tell if I'm playing because it's a fun game or if I'm playing because I have the drive to beat it. By no means at all is it bad, it's very well done, but I dunno... just don't really get it I suppose. I guess there are so many little things that kind of 'meh' me like annoying forced motion controls, the star gun thing, and so much collecting all the time. Feels like all I do is collect star bits so i can feed goofy star thinggys so they can TRANSFOOOOOOOOOOOOOORM!!!!

I guess i'm in the 0.1% of the population that isn't having a video game orgasm over this game :eek:

I think all Mario games are collect-a-thons, so it's not for everyone. *shrugs*

Well to be honest when I get into a mario game all I want to do is jump, shoot and collect things...its the nature of the game really. I do enjoy the game alot and there are flaws(camera) but still not a lot to take away from the gameplay(fun factor)

I wouldn't say this is the best game of the year but its certainly the best the wii has to offer...big fun indeed.

I would.

I can honestly see GOTY going to Orange Box (likely), Bioshock, Halo 3 (press love it) or Galaxy (where the only negative review has been in a Sony sponsored article).

But then again I'm just going off Metacritic. Mario Galaxy has a rating of 98, the highest of any next gen game.
 
I see you forgot Mass effect(which I think will carry it home) but dude that site was sponsored by Sony not the article...stop believing everything a fansite says.

Back to mario....anybody turned it over yet? I heard that there are hidden boards after you complete the game.

This game is great, but at the moment I personally like MP:C better. I generally play for about an hour, than do other things. I like the HUGE bosses that this game offers and their silly antics. :) Overall this game really seems to have something for everyone. It pulled me in faster than Resident Wiivel, but the difference is that when RWii:4 sucked me in, I could not put it down.

The space junk music is cool. :cool:

I have 84 stars!!!! The purple coin challenges are pretty fun, and it quite hard to find the ? star is each stage.


EDIT: OH CRAP!!!!! Mario Galaxy has overall beaten the greatest game made (by scores) Ocarina of Time!

18 hours, 45 minutes with 90 stars.

I quit for today after dying so many times on the Luigi's Purple Coin star in the Toy Galaxy place. Gah! I hate this game! :p
