Mygod the Sky Garden thingy level is utterly phenomenal. When I first heard that song being played in that orchestra video I thought it was going to be a credit tune. So glad it's not. I never tingled so much from a video game.

I'm glad you "tingled". While you were "tingling" however, I was trying the co-op. The 2nd Player is awesome! You can stun enemies, including the rolling balls and shoot them with the stars and kill them. And you can make mario jump twice.

I don't want to read through the thread to avoid spoilers (Not that I expect it to have any type of deep storyline) but has anyone had problems with motion sickness, I saw it mentioned earlier.

I got sick from Call of Duty 3 on the Wii because of all the shaking.. so I'm kinda worried I may have the same experience with a great game.

yeah the co-op is great, I get my gf to help with some of the more difficult levels. It makes some parts too easy but hey... I'll take what i can get.

I was worried about that too :D I haven't got the game yet. 9 days to go

I was on the Sky Garden level just long jumping over smaller planets, and yea it made me go dizzy a couple of times. It's the only time it's done it for me so far (30-odd stars in).

I have the day after Thanksgiving off...so, I'm officially making the entire day of Friday, November 23rd....Gaming Day! :D

I haven't touched Galaxy, yet, as I wanted to finish off Zack & Wiki first and was also playing around with my new PS3....plus all that real world stuff that gets in the way. Friday is all Mario! :)

I'm on 32  or 1 off the next boss galaxy.

Not rushing through this one. Well, I can't anyways! Too busy. I'd rather stretch out this piece of perfection.

And I love the level design of that water fortress level. The way that it's not actually a glass bowl of water but a surface of water! It's just genius.

ok, a few little questions.

1) how do you get those comets to appear? A few levels have the comet icon greyed out so I need the star but no comet around. Should I pay off that little fat dude who moves them or does he only move them away?

2) One star icon is greyed out and has a "?" over it. Is it hidden as in I have to find it, or is it waiting for an event to unlock it so I can get it?

3) I am the only one disturbed by "SUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR MAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOO GAAAAAAALLLLLLAAAAAAXXXXXXYYYYYYY!"? ever since I saw that guy on G4 all i can think about is him screaming like Mario.

1) No idea. I keep paying that guy to move them though. They always seem to land on galaxies I want to go on.

2) I think they're hidden stars.

3) It's a bloody pain, Zelda and Metroid have such nice menu vids too. Galaxies is just awful.

No rushing?? hahah I have 12 stars, that is no rushing :D

Playing this on my large TV i almost felt as if i was getting motion sickness lol, maybe I'm just strange though :)

I'm making sure to do them right away. I love the one where you have to beat the boss with only 1 hit. Very fun stuff, like old school Mario.

I found it looks better on my 19" LCD than when I played it on my parents 44" DLP, the smaller screen hides some of the imperfections graphically.

WAIT!? I need to know who this guy is! I only need 10 more Stars and i am having trouble getting comets to appear!

Yeah it's ok.

Some nice levels, some crumby ones.

Camera sucks and there has been more than a few occasions of camera stuck or having to leap into the unknown.

Also running towards the camera with analogue is never fun, and there has been a few instances on levels like this, and they are annoying.

Not the 'perfection' I was expecting going on the general orgasms everyone on here seems to be having, especially Jimmi ;) j/k

As for controls ?

Other than the point at star sprites, this game really could be better played on a traditional gamecube style pad. Wiggle to attack is sometimes off, and a button press would be better.

Preferred Mario Sunshine tbh! and this certainly for me is no where near as good as Mario 64.

A very very good game... but certainly not the 'greatest game ever'... (IMHO)

LOL! I know shock horror. But if truth be told, I'm getting more enjoyment from Zack & Wiki. (heck recently I've been really enjoying Scene it! on the 360 too so maybe I'm going through a phase at the moment ;) )

But it's all personal preference at the end of the day I guess.

I missed the wink smily but it was all in jest, you're a tough customer after all!

But I've found some faults with it myself...

- Swimming controls are horrid. Which is a shame as IMO the Water Tower (whatever) and that beach level are the most beautiful levels.
- Some music clearly isn't orchestrated and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
- Repeating levels near the end? Weeeeak. I've only played around on that Silver Tree level for a few minutes, but so far it just seems like a mirror of the Bee World level.

I also don't like the plain flat levels too much. They just feel too boring compared to mini planets.

BUT. I love the Bedroom Bowser level. The gravity shifting area was just mind bending. I've got switching gravity like that in Tormishire but even all the designing and testing I've done there didn't help me for that bit!

WOW! I just got 120 stars to get my surprise at the end....very cool! Makes me want to play it again!

I'm also a bit annoyed with the powers. They seem really limited compared to old Mario games. The fire/freeze flowers are on timers and you lose Bee powers when you get launched from a star. Not carrying them over frames it baaad. I mean Mario 64 was the same, I think I was just expecting something more considering they made a big deal about it.

Just got onto that ocean-ring level. K this is the most beautiful game I've seen now.

Wait until you make it to the Garden;)

Me and my sister were more than a bit impressed by the Toy galaxy. That ones just a bit creative! Mechabowser was just fun. I didn't mind the spring either, got the controls sussed in the first couple of seconds.
