I'm really curious if the in app purchase is being transferred because of the nintendo ID or the Apple ID. Quite strange if Apple is allowing them to do the former.

Try quitting the game on the first device you were playing it on, and then attempt to link your nintendo ID on the second device.
Too much hassle. Understand piracy concerns but it's stuff like this makes people just not bother at all. Deleted off my phone, reinstalled and linked account ok but can't toggle between because you can only have one active device at a time. That's just overkill.

Perhaps you'd be better served by complaining on a site that isn't primarily for Americans rather than lecturing the world on how they should use your dialect.
How obnoxious and superior. In no way is MacRumors "primarily for Americans" - and even if it was, your country is not "the world".

I got it to work by deleting the game on the iPad, reinstalling and then linking the Nintendo account during initial setup. The purchase transferred as well as progress.

Completely agree. I can't think of any other iOS purchase that breaks like this when you are using it on multiple devices with the same Apple ID.

Downloaded and played the free version, but im not gonna buy it and heres why:

-i dont actually like the autorun feature at all, it just takes too much of the freedom and ending up to annoying situations. It makes the game too "easy" and too simple in some way. It makes you feel like you are really not in charge of playing the game.
-levels are too short (partly because of the autorun) and the whole idea of just collecting some coins is annoying. I would just like to play this freely without autorun and without constantly collecting something.
-why in allmost all games these days you have to allways collect, buy and/or decorate something? Why cant just simply play the levels in a good flow like in original Super Mario Bros NES?

These and some other things totally ruined my Mario experience.

They wouldn't be enforcing BS DRM like this if it weren't for all of the bloody pirates not paying for things in the first place.

Well, perhaps, but it can also be argued that people who pirate would never pay for the things they steal in the first place.

Not that I'm condoning the practice, just pointing out that businesses sometimes overestimate the value/draw of their product.

Played it and hated it. Not being able to stop or control the character is irratitating. Prior to playing I was aware of this but gave the developer the benefit of the doubt hoping the gameplay would still be enjoyable.

Sadly, it is not. The always running style gameplay is incredibly annoying. I wouldn't even play this game past 4 levels - even if it was free. I can't believe they want $10 for the game.

I know I sound incredibly harsh, but I did give a fair try.

Why no Landscape mode?

“Once we did start to focus on the vertical gameplay and one-handed play, we were surprised at how much having that vertical space in a Mario game could add to the verticality of the game itself and how that added a new element of fun to Mario,” Miyamoto explains. “They’re all brand new levels that we created for this game, but because of the vertical orientation, it gave us a lot of new ideas for how to stretch the game vertically. I think it’s been maybe since the Ice Climbers days that we’ve had a game where you’re trying to climb a tower.”

Anyone rescue the princess yet? I haven't been playing non-stop, but I'm at World 4.

The levels are quick, but they do get very interesting and I can see how I'll want to go back to them to try different routes and such.

What they never seem to appreciate is the BS DRM actually puts off those who would pay for it anyway. So much for seamless integration across your IOS devices. And now Nintendo have done it you can be sure others will follow.

I've been dying for a good iOS game and I was all set to buy this one sight unseen on launch day. But the news of that always-on internet connection thing... It's gotten to the point where it's easier to pirate games than to buy them, because when you pirate them you don't have to deal with BS DRM like this!
As is always the case, this type of DRM only hurts the legitimate paying users. Cracked version will probably have the internet connection requirement bypassed.

For all their work in porting to Android, it will sell in the tens on Google Play. But surely it will be enjoyed by the millions on Android with no internet connection required :p

I downloaded it, but I am very bummed out about the constant internet connect requirement. I spend a lot of time playing games on the subway, and I would have loved to be able to play it there too.

It says that this is a Family Sharing game.
So if I pay the $10 does that also apply to the rest of the Family?
Or does each family member also have to pay the $10 each?

The required internet connection was one thing (which is stupid), but using the nintendo ID for syncing the in app purchase and preventing play on multiple devices with the same ID is just downright annoying.

The game is designed for a mobile phone. It can be played in short bursts, with one hand, and with simplified mechanics.

If you're looking for a "real" Mario game there are numerous ones you can purchase on Nintendo's platforms.

There's certainly that factor and while I don't condone it at all, indeed as an indie developer I'm steadfastly against it, but I do know someone who hasn't paid for a piece of software in his life. Oh the debates we have ;) As for overestimating the value of a product, well there's plenty of companies who do that, as Apple customers we should be very used to it. That a product may or may not be overpriced in the eyes of some people doesn't give them the right to steal it though.

I do agree that the majority of people who pirate first and foremost, won't have any intention of paying regardless.
However, if we had a system to completely prevent piracy they wouldn't have a choice. Well they would, pay or do without. I wonder how these people would like it if we went round their houses once a month and emptied their cupboards, took their computers and gadgets and walked out with them. I've a feeling they wouldn't be too pleased, yet that's in essence exactly what they are happy to do whenever they feel like it.

I'd like to think that in a world without piracy software prices would fall due to the inevitable increased revenue. But somehow I doubt that the corporate greed culture of big businesses would permit a price drop if they could just gouge us for more money anyway.

Must.....stop.....ranting....before....blood....vessels.....ahhhhh, too late. :D
Can't help it, theft is just one of those things that winds me up something rotten.

I love it though it seems a bit short. I'm used to paying $40-$60 for games, and it really seems like they only have $10 worth of levels. I'm guessing they will have more worlds every few months. Honestly, I'm just thrilled to see Nintendo in the App Store.

It's should be called...

MARIO AUTO RUN
AUTO MARIO RUN
SELF RUNNING MARIO

I'm ok with the automated running, but auto vaulting as well? At least Flappy Bird required what felt like more user input.

Yeah, the self jumping over goombas through me off at first. But the levels get more difficult, other enemies he won't just jump over and will lose life if he runs into them.

I've purchased it and it's seamlessly integrated across all of my iOS devices, each and every one has the game, all of the content and my progress is perfectly in sync. So I don't see the problem there, the DRM they are using hasn't interfered with the seamless integration I'm used to with iOS.
