Seems like they'd be able to fit a 16" display just by reducing the bezels and keep the same footprint.
And keep the 13" screen size the same, but shrink everything else? I'd like a 13" laptop the size of a macbook...

I can't imagine the MBP 13 and MBA being updated in October. Imagine if you just bought a new MBP 13 or Air.
Oh no, so basically they will be marketing them as God-tier MacBook Pros for thousands of dollars more than the thousands they already cost? I hope not.My prediction:
Apple keeps MacBook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch as it is and they will present the new MacBook Pro 16inch as the way of the future (just like the introductions of the iPhone X). And next year, hopefully, we are going to get a 14 inch MacBook Pro as well as a predecessor for the 13 inch.
That means both products will be much pricier.

I want that 14 inch MacBook Pro soooooo bad. Especially if it comes with a dedicated GPU.
MBA: $1,099Normally I would presume the 16" would replace the 15", as a better large screen laptop. But the modern Applemart who doesn't mind having more skus than anyone can comprehend will surely charge $200-400 for this 16" model and keep the 15" unmodified right where it is for at least another year.
So by your advice then, you should wait 2-3 years after the gen 2 product to be certain of its longevity then?I think his reminder still stands. To me, the “1st gen product” concern isn’t that you won’t like it after 14 days or that it will have a manufacturing defect appear within 1 year. For me it’d be more longevity concerns, and for Gen2 to have significant improvements based on feedback/experience with the new form factor.
Looks ridiculous, so yeah probably spot on.MBA: $1,099
Low end MBP: $1,299
High end MBP 13: $1,799
MBP 15: 2,399
MBP 16: 2,999
Gentle reminder that when the current generation has a keyboard where you never know if you'll get one, two, or zero letters when you type, you might want to take your chances on a 1st-generation replacementGentle reminder to be wary of 1st-generation Apple products.
What they did with the original retina 15 inch MacBook Pro. They introduced updated original MacBook pros, then introduced the new retina MacBook Pro. It was like an extra $500.Oh no, so basically they will be marketing them as God-tier MacBook Pros for thousands of dollars more than the thousands they already cost? I hope not.
Pointless reminder because anyone can buy a 1st gen Apple product and:
1. Return it within 14-days if there is anything seriously wrong with it.
2. Get it fixed under warranty within the first year if there is anything wrong that develops.
Safe to say the brand new 16" model will start at $2999, and ship with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD.This would tie out nicely with the six new model numbers that haven't been released yet - two at each size, with some sort of differing set of options.
If they want to get anywhere near $3k for these things they better come loaded with new memory and ssds.
New 16” is going to be balls deep expensive.
Apple will surely use this as an opportunity to re-anchor base prices higher
Remember the 3rd iPad?I can't imagine the MBP 13 and MBA being updated in October. Imagine if you just bought a new MBP 13 or Air.
I think they'll have issues if you can get the same components on a Dell for thousands less. They can keep an "Apple Premium" but too much and users might balk, just as they did on iPhones.

I remember the panic over receiving an LG panel as opposed to a Samsung one.
I was hoping for a redesigned 14" MBP instead of a 13". That's too bad. Wanted them to basically remove the bezels and keep a similar footprint.
