I'll be sticking with AT&T...

I'd imagine if you look it up, your company is probably eligible for an employee discount, and, in the process of signing up for the discount you get moved to business support, which always seems to have been better.

I recently tried Sprint and have used phones on the Verizon network. T-Mobile was a joke for coverage for anyone who does significant travel.

For me, AT&T service, although somewhat shaky at times is still more functional than any of the other options.

Finally, what's the point of an iPhone that can't access data while on a call? That's an unacceptable step backwards into history.

Strange how the dropped call rate for AT&T shot up when the iPhone 4 came out....and then when the bumpers became easily available, the dropped call rate came back down.

Oh, it's not Apple's fault. :)

Hummm... could just have been the flood of new activations too. Huge increase in traffic... network gets less reliable?

But you have a point. Just not sure if it's valid?

Funny, no one surveyed me about staying or switching. But for the record, I am staying. :D

I've had to deal with VZW before on cell phones and air cards and their customer service that I experienced was atrocious. I have no use for VZW. AT&T on the other hand, has been pleasant to deal with since I got the first iPhone way back when.

They have always been excellent f

Sorry, I didn't get you. Did your connection drop?

Well, then how could it be explained why it went down in Dec 10? Were there suddenly less users on AT&T? Prob not.

Ah, you live in the UK? Fancy going for a drink? (hopefully to talk about guy stuff and not just Apple...)

Isn't Apple a guy stuff?

They did not talk to me!

Where do they get this stuff.

Did they poll every AT&T customer, well they missed 1, me!

Verizon is the worst, they make you pay for everything!

well, I guess that is close to 100% of iPhone users in Cambridge MA.

ATT really sucks here. There is a gaping hole in coverage about 300yards right around my house. you get at best 1 bar and a dropout every 5 minutes. it plain sucks and this has been like this for at least three years.

Why oh why have you not switched to Verizon yet? Is an iphone THAT important to you? I would think having a phone that functions as a phone would be paramount.

So why didn't you complain, and try to get them to give you a free microcell? I would have even paid for one instead of dealing with 1 bar for more than a month.

The company I work for issues either AT&T or Verizon phones for business, the users choice. Employees get a business discount on personal accounts with both carriers.
AT&T works great along the major travel corridors and cities but is abysmal to nonexistent in the country where many employees live. Verizon has great coverage everywhere here. Telling a Director or VP that you don't have service as an excuse for not picking up a customers call doesn't happen twice.

I'd love to know where the ATT to Verizon switchers are from. I'm guessing the majority are from CA & NY, areas where ATT really is horrible. I can't complain much about service in the DC area. I have no reason to switch.

I am originally from Los Angeles, CA and currently residing in NYC, I have no problem using AT&T services at all. My roommate and good friend are also here from CA and living in NYC, have iPhone 4s just like, and have no problems whatsoever either.

The Verizon iPhone is like going backwards in time! Check out these Verizon features: No simultaneous voice & data on 3G. No global roaming capabilities. Have to pay at least $30 if you go over 150MB data. Can't switch to Edge to conserve battery life when not web-browsing. They offer a mobile hot spot, which is coming in 4.3 anyways (but will have to pay minimum $30 per month data to really benefit from it).

Oh and here's the biggest kickers.. new iPhone 5 is guaranteed to come out this June for AT&T but not necessarily with Verizon just yet. And Verizon has higher early termination fees and no longer provides early upgrades. On the other hand, AT&T has provided me an early upgrade at the $199 rate for the newest iPhone every June because I am an annual early adopter. I think I'll stick to AT&T...

half of those people were probably using the poll as a means of voicing their real or perceived dissatisfaction with at&t and actually wont go through with it. they'll probably wait and see how people say it is on verizon and decide from there

Also interesting that Verizon's dropped call rate jumped by an even larger amount when the iPhone 4 was released and came back down as the bumpers were released.

The graph clearly reveals a causal relationship.

With CDMA networks, the cell towers have 416 channels and each channel can handle 50 calls. It also allows for soft hand offs when you are driving and are moving from tower to tower so it makes it practically seamless.

With GSM networks, the cell towers have 416 channels as well but each channel only handles 8 calls. So you will get more "all circuits are busy" error messages with GSM. Also GSM does hard hand offs which can lead to more dropped calls.

I've never had any of these problems people talk about with ATT. I live in Cleveland, Ohio which does have the new HSPA+ and LTE later this year. and it blows Verizon speeds out of the water. Always have 4-5 bars and dont know what a dropped call is. I go to College at Ohio State in Columbus which also has better speeds then Verizon so I have no plans on switching to Verizon. Comparing speeds with my friends Droid. Sry for everyone in crappy coverage areas.
