Survey Finds U.S. iPhone Users Generally Pleased With AT&T

If an AT&T survey would've been ordered from Verizon, I'm pretty sure the results would be quite different. There is a phrase in Finland that would translate to something like: "There is a lie, a giant lie, and then statistics."

The American expression is "lies, damned lies, and statistics"

I'll bet a significant percentage of those survey participants were non-tech-savvy women, who bought an iPhone primarily because they consider it a fashion accessory.
Or non-tech savvy men who need it to feel good about themselves cause they are lacking in other areas.

Wow, you guys just nailed 95% of the population of the planet. Wonder how many of them have iPhones, though.

AT&T isn' as bad as some would like to believe.

For one coverage in and around Rochester NY is good to excellent even though it can become non existant in the sticks. That however is not a failure unique to AT&T. Comparatively i get better service quality overall than i ever did with Verizon.

More importantly the people at the local AT&T stores are far more professional in dealing with customers. The people at the Verizon stores all seemed to be of the same mold, a mold that isnt to flattering. It is almost as if the Verizon people where on straight commision and thus only interested in new sales. It wasnt the network that had me happy to leave Verizon but rather the attitude to its customers.

Of course i'm not running to the AT&T store or Apple store for that matter to resolve issues. Maybe part of the good experience with AT&T is the lack of need to interact with AT&T? I dont really know, all i do know is that my bill every month is within a few cents of what it was the previous month. As far as i know AT&T is not involved in some of the more unethical behaviour in the cell phone industry.

I can't sit here and say they are perfect. They would do well to improve service in the wilds of upstate NY. However for my day to day usage around Rochester service and reception is very good.

I'm quite happy with at&t. When a phone call drops it encourages the other person to send me an e-mail, which is what I'd spend the majority of the phone call convincing them to do anyway.

This survey is the biggest lies since BP badly photoshopped command center. The people that were surveyed were probably paid, or the company/person doing the survey are paid by AT&T. Of course we wouldn't know this, but we know that no one in America is pleased with ATT.

I laughed; that's a good way of looking at things :p

I expect an imaginative post like this from someone with such an imaginative user name. :D

The unsatisfied people are always the loudest. Hence the completely overblown iphone antenna issue from which the majority of complaints came from people who dont own an iphone 4.

This is the gospel truth of the matter but you'll never convince those who have a vested interest in the negative spin. Misery loves company.

Do I love AT&T? Not really. Did I like Alltel/Verizon more? Hell no. Customer service is better with AT&T, my signal is actually imporved in my house, and they have the iPhone. I'll stick with AT&T ;)

Deceptive Article -- iPhone 4 customers are not satisfied, not all iPhone customers

[url="http://money.cnn.com/2010/07/23/technology/iphone_4_att/index.htm"]CNNMoney.com reports
on a recent survey from market research firm Yankee Group showing 73% of surveyed U.S. iPhone customers being "very satisfied" with AT&T as their carrier provider.

The article is deceptive. 73% of all iPhone users are satisfied. No one that has an iPhone 3Gs- has any issues with the service. The only iPhone users that have issues with the service are iPhone 4 users.

I'll reiterate what I've been saying all along. The iPhone 4 is an amazing piece of technology and I would not trade it for anything currently on the market. But if you need a reliable phone, it's not for you.

I use mine primarily for internet and research with apps, which generally does not drop that much. But as a phone it will drop calls when the phone is sitting flat on a surface with no interference, putting to mute the theory that it is only covering of the attenuation point that makes it drop. Though covering it definitely makes it worse.

I had an iPhone 3G and had no problems with the phone service. With a 4G, I definitely have issues. But again I wouldn't trade it. :apple:

not one person i know that has an iphone is happy with att. how did they come up with 73%??? doesn't make sense to me.

my service sucks. i'm so done with att. as soon as another carrier gets the iPhone, i'm switching.

OK with ATT, but of course.

I was one of those very vocal people complaining about AT&T's service. I got dropped calls and horrible reception for two years since getting an iphone. But just recently, AT&T has actually been upgrading their systems and my drop outs have almost gone completely away. I work in a building that has AT&T antenna's on it, and a few weeks ago, when everybody was complaining about even worse reception than ever with AT&T's cell network, I know that they were in the process of putting up new antenna's on the building. They are about three times as large as the old, possibly meaning that AT&T may be getting ready for the next 4G network. In any case, they were actually upgrading their systems. That is just a guess, but my iphone 4 is doing much better now than just a month ago, except for that death grip issue. I don't know about that 73% thing either, because no representative called me about how I felt about my service. AT&T put out that mark the spot app too, and my friend got a call saying they will be putting a new antenna in that area within 3 weeks. That's cool, so everybody should keep complaining.

The picture needs a caption. Lol..

this is EXACTLY how i feel, word for word.

Never understood the AT&T hatred and have long suspected the apparent widespread dislike was yet another case of a vocal minority on the Internet drowning out the rest of us. In my area, AT&T's service is fantastic and the coverage and dropped call rate is no better or worse than Verizon or T-Mobile (both of which I've used previously.)

As an added bonus, their customer service is great. My wife is on Verizon and complains of excessively long hold times for customer service. I'm usually talking to someone at AT&T within 1-2 minutes of calling.

Another satisfied customer

I'm also very happy with my service and I have been a customer since Cingular. Service is great in my area.

Fixed.

ATT is terrible. Has been for years in San Diego
