Switcheasy Cases for the new iPad

My new black canvas' on/off function works fine...

However, this guy isn't as nice as the iPad 2 specific version was. You don't get as much choice in angles when using as a stand (as the little pegs like to slip). And the magnets that hold this guy closed just aren't strong enough.

i'm worried mine won't hold up in the long run. it seems to shift already while being propped up.

Question do you guys think the lining of the cover attracts a lot of dirt?
 
Just a thought, how well you think this case would hold up to a drop. As in, do you think it's sturdy enough to protect the iPad from a 4-5 foot drop?

My case beyond being tolerable from how bad it smells. I took the case off, and I haven't used my case since day 1, and it hasnt gotten any better after a week now. It makes me feel nauseous.

I emailed switcheasy and they just said it'll go away after time....

I wonder if we could blast it with febreze or something?
 
got my case yesterday - the toxic spill smell is almost unbearable. it better go away soon.

I've tried wiping the thing down with soap and water and the smell did not get any better. I wouldent mind it as much if I knew it wasn't toxic but who knows what it is. I've decided to keep it in the garage for now. Hopefully it goes away.
 
The smell doesn't bother me as much as it bothers some of y'all...

Still think this is a great case though.

Agreed... Until one day we'll say, "my case killed my cat, or my dog, or my goldfish, or my pet pigeon, etc.... from toxic"

Sir, your nose must be broken... the case is absolutely unbearable and it even burns my eyes. I think smelly socks smell better than the case. :D

Nope, nose is perfectly alright (which is a blessing considering its pollen season >.< ). The smell just doesn't bother me much, I think it smells like new tennis shoes (a smell I am quite fond of). :)

Agreed, fresh shoes do smell good, but this case smells awful. =/



Hey xxxxx,

Yes currently all Canvas Cases have that New Smell to them. It may be strong but it will defiantly fade over time with more use. It is just like getting a New Book or even New Leather Shoes, the smell is strong at first but will fade away soon!

1.Does it fit if I have ghost armor back protector?

I just received this cases today. For those gathering info on wether or not to buy this case...

It is NOT "canvas" or fabric. This could be misleading between the name and the photos. I thought it was when I ordered it.

This is not meant to be a negative comment, while I was a little disappointed, I'm really enjoying the case overall. it does have a nice feel to it and "appears" canvas.
 
I'm torn between the switch easy canvas and the casemate tuxedo. Is anyone that has the canvas concerned about the plastic backing scratching or etching dirt into the back of the iPad?
 
I'm returning my Canvas. All this swooning had me super excited. I'm going the red leather smartcover + best skins ever on the back route. The Canvas isn't all that and a bag o donuts.
 
Bah, they wanted me to ship my cover which I got yesterday back to Germany, before they will ship me a replacement. Good grief :/ Just hope the next one will work as advertised. Atleast they're paying for the shipping.
 
My red canvas came in today. It definitely smells but I can deal with it. Was going to put it outside for a while but it's gonna rain soon so I'll just deal.

The auto on/off does work but it seems weak and while holding the case sometimes I can hear it turn on and off. The front cover isn't making perfect contact however cause its stiff, I'm sure it'll work better in time. I remember someone mentioned they can hear their iPad locking and unlocking in their bag, hopefully mine will go away.
 
Got my black Canvas today. A few hours in and I'm satisfied. It's hardly perfect but it's the best I've been able to find.

My requirements were the auto wake/sleep would work, hard shell base with folio look and no cover of the bezel. This does the job.

Seriously though, it is smelly and the outside is tacky. Hope that goes away.
 
Camera Connection Kit

Have been using this case (black) for days, really LOVE it!!!

My only problem is that it doesn't fit the apple camera connection kit. Anyone has any solution?
