Did you get any mail about the product being shipped, or anything else that confirmed your order, other than a paypal reciept? Ordered last friday, and haven't heard from them yet.

Just got my Charcoal one through from Switch Easy Europe, first time I've really invested in a premium case for any of my devices and couldnt be more pleased with the quality, money well spent I feel.

Having the dreaded auto wake / sleep problem that other people have mentioned, have fired an email of to see what can be done.

I just placed an order for a Black Canvas case, hopefully it won't be too long before I get it (it's back ordered)

I got a shipping notice with tracking from USPS when it was shipped. Arrived in 3 days.

Thought i'd give my experience!

I got my Switcheasy Canvas case last week. Loved it! However, magnets were not working. The case was losing grip where the rubber pads are on the iPad holster and it was hard to position the iPad in any comfortable area except typing position and up right.

Switcheasy quickly replaced my case with a new modified version. The grooves look improved, the magnets work and their service was fantastic!

I will update soon on how the case wears over time.

Great purchase so far. Glad I didn't go with the lexington.... :)

Out of interest did you need to ship your case back to Switch Easy first or were they kind enough to send out a replacement with an RMA bag or something?

I've just received the black one.. and it has a real strong 'new car/new case' smell :( it also feels a little 'sticky', like slightly wet paint. Anyone else had that? Does it pass? thnx

wasn't sure if i would like the texture of Canvas. for some reason i thought it would more in the lines of the old trapper keepers texture on the binders. BUT I should of paid more attention to the name. It feels like a book in hand. both the texture and bulk. It adds a bit of bulk, but the bulk makes it easier to carry around. I'm not as worried that the iPad will slip out of my hands anymore. Don't think that fear will ever go away.

It seems the canvas comes with a screen protector as well. Any reviews for that? does it fit on well or is it the cheap kind that takes away clarity AND has many bubbles/bubbles start showing up over time?

Received my charcoal canvas case today and I guess I should not have been surprised the sleep/wake did not work. Not real happy with the screen protector also. After pulling off the adhesive side and placing it on,,it had very small dust particles on it so I could not get the bubbles around them smoothed out. I'll wait for my new case and see if that protector is the same. If so, I'll just get another screen protector somewhere else. Just sent email to support,,waiting to see what they have to say. Other than that,,I really like the case,,to me that little extra bulk it provides makes holding the Ipad so much easier.

Got my charcoal color canvas today. Everything works perfect, love the case. I ordered monday night, shipped Tuesday. When I ordered, the web page said back ordered, obviously not, thinking their web page can't distinquish stock based on the color (e.g. One color out of stock, they all show out of stock).

For a while, all colors except red showed as out of stock so that would appear to disprove your theory. Could be that they have more orders than new stock as it arrives so it never goes out of backorder. :)

Hey all,,,just saw the video that was on page nine about the magnet in some cases installed the wrong way thus causing the sleep/wake not to work because of the polarity of the magnet being backward. Just confirmed it on my charcoal case i got today that is not working. Took Ipad out of case and placed outside of cover against side and it works like it it supposed to. Magnet is in case wrong.

Charcoal

Hey all,
Just got my Charcoal cover today and so far really like it. No problems with the cover although I did notice that when the front cover doesn't completely match up with the back cover the sleep/wake will not work. I think this may have been due to me folding the cover to try to break it in so it lays flatter against the back. So far, here are my observations:

1) I really like the look of the case - it's kind of a grayish-green which looks good against my white iPad.
2) The texture of the case seems to be more slippery than my previous Canvas case which is weird because it looks like it's made out of the same material
3) I really like that they've done away with the ridges and that you can now prop it up however you want
4) The latch never really bothered me too much - in fact I actually like holding onto it when I used it to read books so I'll see how this affects my usage
5) I'm a little disappointed that the back cover doesn't fold flush against the back like the old case did - makes it a little more uncomfortable in the reading position, but I'll have to see what it's like when I'm in bed reading a book

Overall I really like the case. I was really happy with my iPad 2 Switcheasy and it looks like they put the same details and craftsmanship into this one. I really like having the port covers and hopefully won't lose mine this time around :)

As a side note, I saw someone mention getting a Messenger Bag above and I can say that I highly recommend the Tom Bihn Breve. I bought the Black model and am really happy with it. It's a great bag if all you need to put in it are your iPad, a charger and some headphones. It's very slim and easy to wear around your back. I'm guessing it would be great if you rode a bike all the time, but I have no experience with that. If you're looking for something roomier they sell a bigger bag called The Risretto, but it's $125 so it's a bit pricey. The Breve is $55 and I feel like it's a good investment if it's something you'll be carrying around everyday and yes - the iPad fits in the case with the Canvas cover on it - it's a bit tight, but it fits.

I got my Canvas today, so far I am in LIKE with it. I was in LOVE with the original.

A few things I've noticed so far:

1. Picking up the case I can sometimes hear the off/on clicking inadvertently.
2. Sometime when I flick the case closed, it doesn't actually close, it'll get stuck. I've been trying to break in the typing position -- hopefully, this isn't a consequence.
3. The inside material isn't as soft or smooth, so "book mode" isn't as comfortable.

I'm gonna stick with it though, its still a good case.

I've got a black ipad and can't decide between the black or charcoal case. Any suggestions?

I also picked up the black canvas kiss and love it.

I am, however, also encountering issues with auto on/off. I was hoping that ordering a black case would allow me to escape from these issues but alas it wasn't meant to be.

Given that so many case manufacturers are running into issues with changes to the auto on/off magnets I can't fault switcheasy too badly. I do hope that they have a good return/replacement policy since this looks to definitely be the case I want to settle on permanently.

I small highlight that I haven't seen people mention which really impressed me was the dock and AudioPort covers. I am not particularly OCD and worried about dirt or moisture getting into those spots – but rather, I just think the case and iPad look so much cooler without those "holes" in them.

Best of luck finding the perfect case. Other than the auto on/off situation this is definitely a keeper and going to the top of my list.

Received mines today and I love this case. I had the previous one before this for my old iPad 2, but I like the new one better because of the cleaner appearance, and latchless design. That thing was a pain in the ass to take on/off. This new one makes thing so much easier. I got black this time and I've always love SwitchEasy canvas style folio cases. Best case by far.

Thanks for the info...getting my black Canvas tomorrow :D

Does the sleep/wake function work?

It seems the canvas comes with a screen protector as well. Any reviews for that? does it fit on well or is it the cheap kind that takes away clarity AND has many bubbles/bubbles start showing up over time?

Just installed one tonight which comes with their Canvas case. Had Power Support and SGP clear screen protectors as well as garbage low quality ones before.

My review are as follows:

1. Installation - no bubbles but there is some lifting along one edge of the screen which is not due to dust. No matter how you tried, it won't lay down. The problem is similar to some SGP clear screen protector but it is slightly worse.

2. Screen Quality - the clarity is about the same as without glass but there is a lot of rainbows. I would say it is an average product.

3. Fitting and alignment - the cutouts are accurate with smaller gaps the edge of the protector and the edge of the device. So can't complain too much on that.

I didn't have the previous one but I find this new one a bit hard to take on/off -- the first time I ever use a polycarbonate case. I used silicone cases or leather cases in the past.

Does it leave some scratch on iPad for the previous one if you take it off/on too often?

Using the case in stand mode

I used the marware CEO hybrid case for my original iPad and my iPad 2, and really enjoyed it, except when I used the iPad in stand mode, it was frustratingly easy to get the iPad fall out of the stand position. This case looks great, but I have not yet seen anybody comment on how easy it is when using the iPad in stand mode to accidentally push it out of the stand position.

When I'm playing games or using iPhoto to edit pictures, will I end up pushing the stand down just by tapping on the screen, or does the rubber hold adequately?

Also, how well does it stand up when not on a flat surface? i.e. when I am laying in bed and having it on my lap, or laying on the couch?

Ordered a charcoal today. Could not decide which case to buy but went for the Switcheasy in the end. :) Hopefully it arrives soon.
