Parent and I are on One Unlimited 55+. I used iMessage Business Chat to message T-Mobile and made explicitly clear that I did not want the plan to change. Rep sent me a little blurb on how they're "always looking for ways to give our customers more," and I restated that I do not want my plan to change.

Rep made the change on my account and I should be good to go.

Here's the thing: T-Mobile (as I currently have it) is hella cheap. I also get great service. But yeah, they can be shady af. Just like AT&T... Just like Verizon...

I thought as long as you keep your current plan they can’t raise your price. Do they have a right to change your plan? There’s going to be a huge backlash if they raise prices. They better not raise prices when they migrate users to the new plans. What happens in two or three years when they come out with new plans again?

This sucks. I haven't been reached yet but I'm a Simple Choice user so far I have liked the service. If they force me to take on a more expensive plan, I'll shop around for real. I'm a current Comcast customer and they've been spamming me weekly for Xfinity Mobile. AT&T just laid fiber up my street and I'm sure they have a bundle deal.

That’s just shady. I had just called them to see what it would cost me to switch to the new plan and it was going to be $50 increase, I was like nope I am going to stay with magenta and now it looks like I will have to call them again and once again say nope!

Glad MacRumors is putting this on the front page. Stinks how everything is going up these days.

Called T-Mobile today and the phone rep seemed flustered and unsure of the migration. She initially mentioned that I cannot opt-out prior to the migration and that I'd have to call back afterwards. She then apologized and said that it was possible; that she would put it in the notes for her supervisor and managers to see. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I got her name and employee ID to refer to it if need be. We'll see what happens...

I have the Magenta plan ($140 for 3 lines) with a smartwatch add-on ($5), then the $10 YouTube discount. My monthly bill is $135. The $15 autopay discount has already baked in.

Now I look at the Go5G plan on their website and it shows $130/month for 3 lines. If I add the $5 smartwatch plan, it sounds like the same cost per month with this changeover. However these pricing may be for brand new subscribers (the catch?).

Something doesn't make sense. The article implies we will get upgraded with no warning, yet the article states...

"Customers will begin receiving notifications about the upcoming plan changes on October 17, both through text messages and emails. Migration timing will vary based on bill cycle."

Yeah, AT&T actually already has done this in the past.
Yeah, instead of leading the pack in new innovative features for consumers like they did a decade ago, they’re now following the pack (Verizon, AT&T) in shadiness. Investors always seem to win in the end. What about the T-Mobile One 55+ plan? I don’t see it listed unless all One plans are affected?

It doesn’t imply that at all. It says it will happen automatically, which is accurate.
