I’m *this* close to leaving T-Mobile. Between stuff like this and the monthly data breaches it’s not worth it anymore.

Edit: anyone recommend a good MVNO on their network? Mint vs GoogleFi vs Boost Infinite?
I’ve been using MVNO’s/prepaid for years after growing tired of these kind of things with the “Big 3.” Mint is ok but you have to buy the plans in bulk. If you don’t like the plans/service you’re kind of stuck. Plus the prices go up after the intro promos. I have (regular, not infinite) Boost as a backup to my Visible (Verizon) line and the service is good but their billing/customer service can be bad. Tello is a good option that uses T-Mobile and has good customer service and customizable plans. I recommend looking at the r/nocontract Reddit page for help/advice. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful and there’s a stickied post tool that filters options based on carrier, data, etc. I’ll never go back to postpaid.

DONT WORRY PEOPLE! On October 17th T-Mobile will start to notify you of the change. If you do not want to change your plan you CAN OPT OUT. You will have to call customer service. They will try to convince you to switch. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO. If you do opt out and stay with your old plan, it is not certain how long before they end your old plan. Then you have to switch.

"We are not raising the price of any of your plans; we are moving you to a newer plan with more benefits at a different cost,"
So you’re not raising it. And it’s different. Therefore it must be lower, or you are lying to me.

Maybe we should call for T-Mobile to testify before congress?

Apple bowed down to the carriers right before 15…. You can no longer buy a phone using the Apple credit card. No interest plan without being connected to a traditional carrier first.

So I doubt Apple will jump in 😵‍💫
False. I just ordered an unlocked iPhone 15+ on Monday and it arrived at my home the next day. I did not disclose a carrier to Apple. I paid $30 extra for this privilege ($929 instead of $899) but everything is functioning perfectly and I can take that new phone to any carrier.

I’ve decided to leave T-Mobile and give Visible another chance. I tried Visible early in the year, but had issues with activation and service. I heard lots of those issues have improved. No issues so far, but iPhone and Apple Watch are activated.

And they’re running a promotion, 6 months of Visible+ for $35/month

Both Verizon and T-Mobile force customers to use autopay with a debit card and linked checking account in order to get a discount on their monthly bill. AT&T was actually the last company to require it. Verizon lets customers autopay with their Verizon credit card. We can always pay the bill by credit card before the autopay date. I like doing this so I can get the cashback from my MasterCard.
Yep, another scummy move by T-Mobile a few months ago. I liked having Apple Card as an autopay method to get the 3% cash back. There is a workaround where you can set a debit card as the autopay method, but manually make a payment with a different card. But you shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to do things that used to be just a given.

I got my iPhone 15 pro with my Apple Card, and no interest. What you‘re talking about if you have a pre-pay plan.

Through different promotions in the past 6 years Ive been able to manage having three unlimited everything lines and an unlimited ipad data line for $80 with auto pay. i really appreciate you guys posting this and letting everyone know.
i just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they told me that customers will not be able to opt out until Tuesday October 17th.
Rep said they’ll call me back to finish the Opt-Out but im definitely calling first thing that morning to do so myself.

I just did it though chat, no issue. On Reddit people were able to do this also.

Thank you T-Mobile rep. Nice first post 😜

I dumped Verizon and went to T-Mobile last year because they increased the prices on all of their older plans in an attempt to get people to upgrade. T-Mobile seemed like a good deal at the time but now I’m questioning that.

The actual F?

They literally were pushing "we'll never increase the price of your plan!" like 3 months ago when I signed up. Which knowing corporate greed is obviously BS and this is blatant BS.

We're not changing the price of your plan, you see. We are forcing you to a different plan. Which is a different price because it's a different plan, and that price just *happens* to be way higher. Weird coincedence to be honest with you. So your old plan that we promised wouldn't go up in price, actually didn't you see.

I just checked their plan page. According to that, if they "upgrade" me, my cost more than doubles! Seriously, that's their own numbers. And the only benefit seems to be more hotspot data, which I rarely use.
