I'm sorry but this just isn't true. It's backordered - If they don't have the phones, that's by definition backordered and they certainly won't be getting them sent to you on the 19th. I'd expect sometime mid to late October at the earliest.
I have a family member that works for T-Mobile. T-Mobile stores will have the new iPhones in store on the 19th. From what I'm told their systems are still down and you may not get a tracking number or you receive a notice of backorder. You will receive your order is on the 19th.

Hopefully they do come Friday, it is possible, but I think if the status is backordered, it needs to change pretty quickly to processing/shipped if there are any hopes of phones being delivered Friday. We shall see.

The real question is, who here has an order status that is NOT back-ordered?

According to the new opening banner at t-mobile.com, they're accepting JUMP preorders until midnight Sunday.

This is all my speculation, but based on logic:

  • After the JUMP window, at some point on Monday (9/15), they'll go through those JUMP preorders to make sure they get priority. Maybe that's an automatic process in their computers, maybe manual.
  • Our orders (including mine) are backordered because they don't have phones to ship yet.
  • The real time to freak out will be Wednesday or Thursday (9/17 or 9/18) if our phones still show backordered.
  • T-Mobile could have saved itself from lots of angry calls if it created a new status in its system that said "preordered" or "preparing" instead of "backordered"
  • I still am optimistic I'll get my order Friday or Saturday!

Yes-- do any Jump folks show their order as not back ordered?

Just went to a T-Mobile store and they put my name and number on a list for pre-orders. People on the list were guaranteed a phone next Friday.

The manager had this sheet of paper with people's names and number. Said he would be calling everyone on Thursday to confirm (or deny) based on availability they receive...

Well then people on the list are not guaranteed a phone if it's based on product availability.

Question regarding the JUMP! pre-order. I am reading that a new eip needs to be signed and returned; how is that done? Signed electronically? Can someone list the steps involved? Thanks!

Electronic during checkout process.

I forwarded my backorder email to my rep who manages a T-Mo store in my area (and someone who has given me accurate and helpful advise and service in the past). She promised to do some digging here, but she was plainly under the impression that if you pre-ordered, especially as early as all of us have, then we should receive it on the 19th.

I'll be sure to update here if she has any other intel.

Can someone here provide a link on how to check order status, the order status page I have is really different from the screen shots you all seem to be posting.

Is this always the case? What do you have tell them?

Not sure if this is always the case.

----------

I keep getting "Order submission failed There was an error in processing your order. Please try after some time" at the last step of checkout.

Anyone has the same problem?

Just wanted to add my experience with the TMO rep this morning, as I had pre-ordered two phones and my confirmation only said one phone was ordered.

Everything was okay with that, but when I asked about the back order, she said that every phone showed up as back order in their system from the beginning, because it wasn't technically in stock. She said it's still a possibility that many people that are coming up as back order will still get it on the release date.

Not sure how much validity this had but it explained why everyone is showing back order. I got through at about 6:45 am to order so I'm hoping there's a chance I will get it on launch day.

dont understand why you cant preorder for fullprice off tmobile.com if you are a tmobile customer....

i dont do that monthly stuff to my bill

When checking out with my JUMP preorder I was confused by the shipping cost, too. I opted for the cheapest, trying to save a few bucks.

Did others go with the other more-expensive but more-expedited options?

I went for the 6.99$ shipping. If we get ours on the 19th then the more expensive shipping would be a waste. Otherwise I'm really in no hurry to have it in my hands.

T-mobile bunch of $%#*

Like many others I was on the site at Midnight Pacific, trying to navigate the debacle that was the T-Mobile iPhone launch. (Ended up sleeping at 1AM PT and re-waking at 3AM PT when lines opened to place my order).

This morning, I awoke to the cursed text of: Order ######## is currently backordered with no estimated delivery date. You will receive another message when in stock and shipped. More info at my.t-mobile.com. [Also got an email with the same message].

My order shows 'Pending Shipping 09/12/2014 at 04:52:13 AM' so I was definitely one of the first to place. Also, I upgraded to Overnight shipping - knowing that there was going to be some BS down the line, and the overnight may save me somehow (we'll see...) There would be nothing more frustrating than staring at a tracking number all day Friday while everyone actually HAS their devices (read: every other carrier in the US).

If this JUMP info is correct, and is not just another ****** up, then this is OUTRAGEOUS - I actually am a JUMP customer and pay the $10 p/m. But it worked out better (+$90) to trade my device in than actually jump.

If this is all true, and our devices are in fact backordered, then we all need to take immediate action and get our asses on AT&T ASAP - I'm suggesting a mass and (possibly violent) boycott - highly visible on Twitter (I'll contact CNBC)!

Are you saying it would have been better to trade it in with T-Mobile than Jump!, or just trade it in through a third-party trade-in service?

I'm so irritated at T-Mobile. I waited 5.3 hours to order my iPhone 6 Plus until it finally went through. One of the first people to order it, and they put a backorder on my order this morning... They are unable to send me a EIP form. They have "sent" me 5 forms already, none that reach any of my email accounts.
I know T-Mobile is having a lot of traffic, I wouldn't be as mad if T-mobile wrote out a public apology or some extra goodies for the people that put up with their BS. How are you guys holding up?
