I'm going to post my crackpot theory, so take it how you will:
The messages that were sent out (both email and text) were probably system generated from the time pre-orders went out (this has been discussed by T-Mobile Reddit for some time now, some users that cancelled orders are getting these!). Now, CS reps probably just confirm these as true just to not have to deal with the answering of the questions.
As for authorizations are concerned on credit cards, one pre-authorization for the full amount probably doesn't bode well for you. Same goes for people with zero authorization. If I was T-Mobile, I would then hit the card after the first authorization to ensure that individuals have the amount for the phones + tax as the SIM Cards and shipping are pretty much useless to them (as in free).
Hopefully, T-Mobile comes through with ACTUAL shipping information in the next 40 minutes.
Side Note: As a new customer, I learned the only acutal, useful information I ever got was from the sales department. Their phone number is 1-800-672-5390 (after robo lady). They seem to be the only ones with access to the system for new orders.
So, ball is in your court T-Mobile...
